My name is DJ Al Boogs I am a professional DJ with over 15 years in the music industry and over 350 weddings under my belt. I attended Scratch Academy founded by the legendary DJ Jam Master Jay of the iconic Run DMC. As a professional DJ and music producer I have worked with many mainstream artists and companies such as Nick Cannon, Akon, 50 cent, Backstreet Boys, Ashanti, Day 26, Def Jam records, BET, MTV and more. The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. Jon is best known for his live work as a drummer for Grammy winner Jack Antonoff in the bands Steel Train and Bleachers. He has toured all over the world and his drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie. Since even before leaving the touring life in 2015, Jon has been a fixture in the New York private event/wedding band scene and has been a drummer, band leader, talent booker and event producer for the biggest agencies and bands in the area.

I have been playing in and forming bands for over 10 years. Working both on and behind the stage, i have a realistic understanding of what it truly takes to bring your personalized desires of entertainment to and beyond its limits.

My love of music started in the back seat of my dads car as he took me to daycare, with Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin On" on repeat. My love of music spans generations, cultures and genres, and has taken me all over the world, from England, Spain, St. Marteen, and Austria. My hope is that you allow me to curate a musical experience that will leave your guest talking about your wedding for years to come. As for me, I am a Brooklyn native, who during the pandemic was able leave corporate career to pursue my passion of music. My perspective, is to include and create, safe spaces for guests to feel young, and carefree - even if for a few moments.

Topu Lyo and Randy Bergida began performing together in 1999 when their friends and siblings started getting married. With each event came many personal requests for music and they discovered their knack for arranging any type of song and founded the cornerstone of New York Ceremony Music with their custom arrangements on cello and guitar. They have been collaborating in their musical endeavors for 20 years and now they have a diverse, ever-growing repertoire ranging from The Beatles to Fleet Foxes, Elliot Smith to The National, Depeche Mode to Django Reinhardt and everything in between.
