    Golden Bell saved my marriage

    Best part of our wedding, hands down! These dudes brought 200 guests to their feet and onto the dance floor for three hours of boogie. Dueling saxophones were insane. People were losing their g*d d*mn minds. They also did a terrific job with managing AV throughout the day, during the ceremony etc. And Aaron was super professional in the months leading up to the wedding - checking in with us about our tastes, schedule, needs. If you don't hire these guys, you're doing it wrong.

    Would travel to see Golden Bell

    Golden Bell traveled to New Orleans to play my wedding, and they put on the set of our dreams. We skipped all of the expected wedding songs and handed them a playlist of all of our favorite disco and funk songs (with a sprinkling of Phish jams) and they delivered an absolutely mind-blowing set. I pretty much missed the rest of my reception because I was on the dance floor All. Night. Long. (Please see photos below of me LOSING MY MIND). Our wedding was 8 months ago (yes, this review is super late) and people are STILL making comments about how good the music at our wedding was. If you are a funk/ disco fan, hire Golden Bell. If you are a Phish fan, hire Golden Bell. If you can’t decide between a band and a DJ, hire Golden Bell. If you want your wedding to be a vibe unlike all the other weddings, hire Golden Bell. Just hire them. It was epic. No notes.

    DJ of my dreams!!

    I’m not even exaggerating when I say I cannot express how grateful I am to Jonathan and the Golden Bell team for their role in creating the greatest dance floor and wedding vibes I could ever have hoped for. Jonathan did an amazing job running the music for our ceremony with very little direction, his cocktail hour and open dancing playlists were on POINT, and basically every single one of our guests was on the dance floor the entire night. Live drumset and saxophone 2000s bangers???? A DREAM. Book them right now. 100000/10 worth every penny.

    Golden Bell understood the assignment

    Stop your search right here, Golden Bell is what you're looking for. Marlon and the team absolutely brought the vibes and all of our guests won't stop talking about them. Before our wedding day, Marlon was super attentive, responsive, and overall fun to work with. He really went out of his way to ensure our entire day went exactly as we envisioned. The energy of the live band combined with the well-mixed playlist certainly kept people entertained the whole party, and the dance floor stayed packed the entire night. We can not think of one thing that Golden Bell could have done better. They have our highest recommendation.

    don't think about it, just hire them.

    Golden Bell Music was worth EVERY penny AND MORE! It's been 6 months since my wedding and I'm STILL getting comments on how much fun all our guests had! Even my mother-in-law who doesn't dance did NOT sit down! I'm Lebanese and my husband is Israeli, so I had asked for help mixing songs to combine our cultures and then move into more western music. I'm still getting sooooo many compliments from our families on how we were able to combine our traditions and our music! And our guests LOST IT when they came out on the dance floor with their instruments and danced with us! I did this in lieu of a zaffet group because i wanted something more unique -- in lebanon a drumline would follow the bride and groom and dance/perform for guests -- and it was definitely the right choice!!! On top of their amazing performance, Marlon was **insanely helpful** both leading up to the day and on the day. I didn't have a wedding planner and was making last minute decisions/timeline changes myself the day of. I couldn't have done it so smoothly without Marlon being so helpful as an MC and being so willing to roll with it! He was absolutely fantastic!! Cut your budget wherever you can to make sure you can hire them. It's SO worth it! Thank you Golden Bell Music for making it the best day of summer (so i've been told. multiple times. by different guests.)!! I don't know for what occasion, but I'm 100% going to find a reason to hire them again.

Yes, we’re comfortable MCing and making announcements as needed. By design, our MC style is minimal and not performative – you won’t see us jumping on the microphone to crack jokes or hype up the crowd during the dance party. Instead of yelling at folks to jump up and down, we prefer to inject energy into the performance with our instruments.
We currently have crews in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and Denver. Additionally, we’re happy to travel and perform at destination events if our travel time and flights/accommodation are covered. We’ve traveled to NYC, the Pacific Northwest Area, Hawaii, Mexico and even Thailand for events, so let us know if you’re interested in booking us outside our home areas.
We love that you’re interested in bringing live music into your event, but we no longer staff our musicians with outside DJs. We’ve learned the hard way that staffing a great horn player with even a great outside DJ leads to mixed experiences. All of the DJs in our crew are also musicians, and have a deep understanding of how the interplay between horns and the DJ sets work together. This is something that can take years to a lifetime to master.
These performances are always anchored on a DJ set that keeps the party going from start to finish and offers us all the flexibility that comes with DJing. We’re able to play any music you can dream up, vs. being stuck to a particular repertoire of songs. The live horns, drums and guitar are additive to the DJ set, play in parallel, and breathe life into the music in a way that only live music can. Horns and guitar will layer on top of the tracks and be featured for high-energy solo moments, and drums act like the glue between the tracks and live music.
All our wedding packages come with at least one sound system setup with more available for an additional fee, and we’re able to provide wireless microphones for the ceremonies, speeches and toasts, etc. Background music playlists are also provided for non-performance times (cocktail hours, dinners, etc.) For other private event and corporate event packages, sound systems can also be provided for an additional fee if required.
Golden Bell is set up as a collective of full-time, touring musicians who tour the world and play on some of the biggest stages, from Coachella and Red Rocks Amphitheater to Bonnaroo and so many more. When you book us you’re booking the collective, and not any individual artists. We’re NOT a booking agency that will farm out inquiries to musicians we don’t know, and those in our crew are family – we practice routines together, share a music library and work hard to ensure the experience is consistently amazing between each of our events, regardless of who is assigned.
We pride ourselves on our flexibility to incorporate any genre of music. When left to our own devices, we’d tend to play a healthy mix of funk, soul, R&B and disco remixes, but every one of our events is crafted around our clients’ preferences and desires. As part of our process, we’ll send our clients a music questionnaire to submit a playlist they’ve put together for us to review. The questionnaire also includes a section for “must plays” and “do-not-plays”, which we pay close attention to. Once we’ve gathered all these, we spend a great deal of time incorporating the new music alongside our own to put together a live set!
