Groove Ride is an 11 piece band from the San Francisco Bay Area formed on April 5, 2012, by Doc Robinson and David "Kidd Funk" McAllister. We have 2 simple goals; make people dance; and let them see a show! We deliver the sound of the top party/dance bands from the 70's to the present, along with a high powered show filled with fun and energy! We cover the party music genres of R&B, Soul, Disco, Funk, Pop and Rock. You don't want to miss our mini-tributes to some of the greatest artist and groups of all time.

Groove Ride is a first class professional band. We have 3 different looks; Formal (tux and gowns), Semi-Formal (suits and dresses/pantsuits) and Club (guys in slacks and nice shirts and ladies in dresses/pantsuits). We also work with our wedding clients to meet their wedding color schemes when asked to do so.
We constantly work on adding new material to our show. For our wedding partners, we gladly learn their first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dances in addition to 3 songs not on our playlist.
Musicians are musicians, so there really is no difference. We all have talent just on different levels. Now, what makes Groove Ride different from other bands is that we play real music. No tracks, overdubs or anything that requires the push of a button. What you hear is really how we sound! Another difference is our first class approach to ALL weddings big or small.

Our style is fun, upbeat and sophisticated. Some of our influences are Earth, Wind & Fire, Bruno Mars, Gap Band, Commodores, Huey Lewis & The News and the Jacksons
It is difficult to provide the mentioned fees without having event specifics. That said, we base all of our travel cost for lodging, meals and ground transportation on the current year GSA guidelines for a specific location. Airfare (when required) is based on researching the least expensive rate. Once a location is known, we can provide exact fees for a date.
