A proud graduate of The New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music in New York City, he had the privilege of studying under legendary musicians such as Reggie Workman, Roy Hargrove, and Bernard Purdie, gaining invaluable knowledge and experience. Throughout his career, Matt has achieved numerous highlights, including touring extensively with Brandon Flowers (The Killers) during The Desired Effect World Tour and performing at some of the world’s most iconic venues.

The Brooklyn Beats is the inaugural event/wedding band founded by music industry veteran, Jon Shiffman. He has toured all over the world and his drumming can be heard on various National TV Commercials, and is featured in the 2024 release of Paramount Pictures’ Mean Girls movie.
