Impulse Strings is a premier music collective based in NYC, offering live string music for weddings and events. From string quartets and trios to duos and soloists, our ensembles perform everything from classical favorites to custom arrangements of pop, rock, and Top 40 hits. Our musicians are graduates of top NYC conservatories and have performed on world-class stages. We offer amplification and work one-on-one with each couple to curate a personalized soundtrack for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and beyond.

At Impulse Strings, every arrangement is written from scratch—by musicians, for musicians—to perfectly match your vision. We don’t rely on generic sheet music; our custom string arrangements are thoughtfully crafted to bring your favorite songs to life with style and precision. Combined with our top-tier conservatory-trained performers and personalized approach, we deliver a musical experience that’s truly one of a kind.

We hired Impulse strings for our wedding ceremony in Central Park. Everything was going smooth until my parents uber took a wrong turn and ended up taking a wrong turn. Impulse Strings performed so beautifully our guests hadn't even realized we were running late. To this day our guests always tell us how amazing our violinist was!

I'd highly recommend Impulse Strings. At the beginning of the planning process, I was given specific and clear instructions on what we needed to provide as a couple in order for them to make their magic happen. We chose songs from a very long and awesome song list & they were able to take recommendations from us as well. Any email was answered promptly & kindly whenever I had questions. On wedding day they were dressed for the occasion, extremely professional and most importantly TALENTED! They were excellent and truly made walking down the aisle a beautiful and memorable experience. Guests were complimenting them to me following the wedding day. Hire them for your special day! Our musicians typically wear formal all-black attire—dresses for women and suits for men—to maintain a polished and elegant look. However, we’re happy to accommodate color requests to match your wedding aesthetic! In the past, we've worn shades of blue, purple, pink, green, and more at the couple’s request. Just let us know your vision, and we’ll do our best to coordinate.

Yes! We love creating custom moments. If you have a special song in mind that’s not already in our repertoire, we’re happy to arrange it just for you. We usually include three custom song requests (songs that are not on our current song list) in our flat based quote so you can personalize your day to you! All our music is arranged in-house, so we can tailor it to fit your ensemble and vision perfectly.

We specialize in a wide range of styles—from classical favorites to modern pop, R&B, rock, indie, and more. Whether you want Bach, Beyoncé, or both, we’ve got you covered. Every arrangement is crafted to bring your favorite songs to life in a fresh, elegant way.

We arrive one hour before the performance start time to set up, tune, and coordinate with your planner or venue. This ensures everything runs smoothly and we’re ready to begin right on cue.
