A dream has recently come true, that of joining my destiny with my partner from now until old age. We are extremely grateful that we had Ioana with us, who honored us with her glamorous, sweet, cinematic style. Every time we go through the photos, we feel as if we are watching the most successful film of 2023, a masterpiece. There were moments that my husband and I forgot to prepare, being caught in the moment and the stress of the event tho Ioana gave us the wonderful surprise of capturing incredible and intimate pieces of memories . Her work manages to impress us everytime we watch our photos and make us feel loved and beautiful. Therefore, I recommend Mrs. Ioana Stavar with all my trust and love. I am sure that she will take care of you, with as much passion as she has for photography!

We focus on creating a calm, guided, and enjoyable experience so our couples can stay present while we capture their day with a cinematic and timeless approach.

We had an amazing experience working with Golden Thread for our wedding. We had a gap between our civil and symbolic ceremony, (our wedding wasn't structured like typical ones) but Matt and his partner were very flexible. They allowed us to feel comfortable when taking photos and helped guide us with poses as my now husband and I are NOT great picture takers lol. Thank you so much!!! We absolutely love our wedding photos.

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Emma was truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Her eye for detail is unmatched - she didn’t just take beautiful photos, she told the story of our day in a way that felt perfectly intimate, authentic, and beautiful. I was really blown away by how she captured the light/shadows, the emotions, the in-between moments, and every single key moment. She was somehow was everywhere and nowhere all at once - never intrusive, but always present. Every time we look through our gallery we’re instantly transported back to the feelings we felt throughout day - the joy, the nerves, the excitement, the love. I feel so lucky to be able to say that, and it’s entirely because of Emma’s talent. Beyond the photos, we also fell in love with Emma’s personality - she is sweet, kind, authentic, witty and just so real. She was such a positive, reassuring presence on a whirlwind day. We are endlessly grateful to Emma for capturing our day with such care and creativity. These are authentic memories that we will treasure for the rest of our lives - and she made that possible.

Steven Rosen Photography
Rating: 5.0 (42 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,500

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had a great experience with Steven. He was not afraid to make decisions and he pushed us to think about exactly what shots we wanted leading up to the wedding. He was open to our ideas but also had great ideas of his own, including making some suggestions about the positioning of the ceremony that resulted in not only making the pictures better but made sure all our guests could see. He was punctual on the day of the wedding and took time to come out to our venue in advance of the wedding to see how we might optimize the photos. His assistant was also very helpful at our pre-ceremony shoot.

Brooklyn, NY

  • Starts at $3,800

Hi! I'm Sarah. Congratulations on taking the next step in your wedding planning! Choosing to work with me earns you more than just a photographer; you get a hype-girl, a dress fluffer, a confidant and a new best friend. Since we are now future besties, here's what you should know about me: My love for portraiture stems from the joy it brings me to make others feel beautiful. Few things make me feel as giddy as photographing weddings, engagements & proposals, and I can't wait to capture the next stage of your love story. My strengths lie in natural lighting, illuminating colors, and catching the candid moments that make you, you.

Awarded Best of Zola
We opted for an intimate City Hall ceremony before we host larger celebrations with friends and family, and Sarah was the PERFECT choice for our special day as our witness-photographer. She ensured we were prepared and that she understood our vision in advance, and she immediately made us feel so comfortable day-of. Wedding jitters? Awkward poses? Not here!! It was so fun to be photographed by Sarah, like hanging out with a friend who works magic with a camera. She knows exactly how to prompt you to get your best angles. We got all the shots we wanted and more, and she captured the light, movement and emotion of the day beautifully despite it being mid-February, i.e. below freezing and windswept! It was a magical experience and we can’t stop looking at our photos. We’re grateful to Sarah for making our (first) wedding day so memorable and delivering such a gorgeous gallery. She even got a few pics to us that same day so we could send them to our families. Five stars, highly recommend, no notes!

Steph Smith Photo
Rating: 5.0 (23 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

I started learning photography in my high school's darkroom. I was there so much, they gave me my own key so I could come in on weekends. In the mid-aughts, I brought my art kid sensibilities to Brooklyn, and here’s been home ever since. In true New York fashion, I’ve had many jobs— but photography's been my full-time focus for more than a decade. Just me, a concerning number of cameras, and my cat. I'm going to take photos anyway, so some of them should really be of you. While I duly rely on the miracle that is digital, I remain grounded in the discipline of analog. I love incorporating film photography for my clients wherever I can.

Awarded Best of Zola
We truly had the most amazing experience with Steph as our wedding photographer. From the very beginning, she understood exactly what we wanted — candid, intimate, in-the-moment photos that felt real and unposed. And that’s exactly what she delivered. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day. She captured all the little moments — the quiet glances, the bursts of laughter, the in-between seconds you don’t even realize are happening — and somehow froze them in time. Nothing feels staged. Every photo feels alive. Her style is artsy and fun without ever trying too hard. She completely captured the essence of our Brooklyn wedding — from our backyard ceremony filled with those who are closest to us to the most fun party that followed at our favorite dive bar. The photos feel like us. If you’re looking for someone who can document your wedding in a way that feels authentic, emotional, and effortlessly cool, Steph is it. We couldn’t be happier.

Sandy SooHoo Photography
Rating: 5.0 (21 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $6,000

With over ten years of experience shooting weddings in and around New York City, Sandy brings her eye for storytelling to each event she shoots, searching for genuine emotion and candid moments that capture every couple in a timeless way. Published in Brides, New York Weddings and Brooklyn Bride, Sandy's work walks the line between fine art and documentary photography, allowing each day to unfold naturally and be remembered artfully for decades to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
We're so happy we chose Sandy to photograph our wedding. She captures emotion beautifully, and her pictures feel like true works of art. I struggled to find a photographer I loved — I think a lot of wedding photography can look cheesy, posed and stuffy — but when I saw Sandy's work, I was obsessed. Not only does her style have a natural, laidback sensibility, but it captures nature beautifully. Our wedding in a scenic spot in upstate NY, and her photos truly do the landscape justice. I loved that she shoots with both digital and color/black-and-white film. We got a great range of photos that captured the elegant-yet-relaxed vibe we were going for. She's also such an easygoing and sweet person, and it was a joy to have her by our sides all day. We highly recommend her!

Stef Reyes Photo
Rating: 5.0 (15 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200

Hi, I'm Stef. I photograph intimate weddings, NYC City Hall ceremonies, and micro celebrations where presence matters more than production. My approach is documentary at its core. I'm not directing every moment, I'm moving through your day quietly, watching for the ones that actually matter. I shoot both digital and 35mm film, not as an aesthetic choice but because film asks everyone to slow down a little. That slowness is kind of the whole point. Based in New York City and the Hudson Valley, available for travel.

Awarded Best of Zola
Stef was a wonderful photographer for our wedding!! She did an excellent job in the pre-wedding planning to help us shape and define our vision, then on the day of she couldn't have been more supportive or professional! The photos are absolutely gorgeous and she got a perfect mix of formal/informal shots, poses/candids and made sure all our bases were covered. Thank you so much for everything Stef!!

Natura Collective
Rating: 5.0 (12 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,500

Hey there! My partner Emilio and I have been shooting together for over TEN years (wowee). I personally shot my first wedding back in 2010! We're an LGBT owned company and we are so so so passionate about making sure everyone feels represented in a sometimes white-washed straight appearing industry, we love inclusivity. Our main goal is you having the best stress-free and FUN wedding photo/video experience.

I want to emphasize how grateful we are for Christian & Emilio at Natura Collective, who did the most gorgeous and unique photography for our engagement and our wedding (we also did a video for our wedding which we haven't seen yet but are very confident it will be incredible). It took us a while to find photographers/videographers who had portfolios we loved and were affordable. Additionally, as a queer couple, we felt it was important to hire queer (or queer-friendly) vendors, so we were really excited and proud to support Natura Collective. Christian and Emilio are very personable and easy to get along with. Their process of figuring out what we wanted and communicating our preferences was straightforward and seamless. The preview gallery we have is dreamy; they delivered beyond what we were looking for, and when I look at the pictures, I feel like I'm transported right back to our wedding night, which I'm already feeling sentimental about because it's over. Thank you!!!! Book them!!!! You will not regret it.

Our names are Tess Mayer & Julia Wang and we are photography duo based in NYC. We met our freshman year at NYU Tisch and since then have run a magazine together, worked as teaching assistants at ICP & NYU, and shot our first wedding our senior year. Our style is a blend of candid documentary and stylized portraiture - we approach your day not as strangers following you around, but as excited guests (who happen to be carrying around cameras and massive lenses) who will most likely cry during your vows. We love small, intimate and relaxed weddings.

Tess and Julia Weddings were an absolute dream to work with for our wedding day. Their communication was clear and prompt throughout the entire process, putting us at ease. The quality of their work was amazing - the photos they captured were vibrant, beautiful, and perfectly captured the intimate moments between my husband and I. Blythe Thomas

  • Starts at $1,500

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do we even start? Not only was Blythe a creative genius, but she kept us both calm, cool, and collected the entire event. From our first look to the cake cutting, Blythe was there with helpful guidance and a keen eye for snapping beautiful candids. During our time together we had quickly developed a rapport with her, that even during moments of panic with other vendors and family members, Blythe was there advocating for our needs. To have a Queer photographer shoot us (a Queer couple) felt amazing, she was able to capture our joy and love and liberation throughout the entire day. I would recommend Blythe 1000000 times over. Truly an amazing photographer and creative. The photos themselves are stunning, friends that we've shown our sneak peaks to have remarked how "this could be on the cover of vogue" and "your photographer was so good! These (photos) are so cool looking". {Zola only allows you to share small file photos- so sadly we can't upload her stunning photography skills-just screenshots}

I'm Karen, a wedding and portrait photographer based in New York City but can travel anywhere! I've been working as a photographer full time for the last 10 years and in that time have managed to photograph over 200 weddings or something like that. I'm from Virginia originally and was always interested in photography and got my first big break at a friend's wedding! I moved to NYC in 2011 and live in Brooklyn with my partner Austin and our two dogs Blanca and Bort. We have a very large record collection and love trying natural wines!

We were really nervous about choosing a photographer because we were came to NYC from overseas to get married and we didn’t know many people to give us personal recommendations. We were so happy to have found Karen who provided us with a fantastic photography service at a reasonable cost. She went above and beyond to help us and even found us a great videographer at an extremely good price. Karen was super friendly and relaxed which was perfect, she was a pleasure to have with us on the day. The photographs that Karen produces were beautiful and we love them. We also found Karen’s communication to be excellent and we felt in very safe hands throughout. No matter what the size or style of your wedding we would highly recommend using Karen as your photographer. Thank you Karen!

I started my journey as a portrait & fashion photographer, working with modeling agencies and brands, primarily in New York City and Dallas. I would describe my style as authentic, editorial, and timeless. My love for photographing couples and their unique love stories stemmed from my love of photojournalism. Your story existed long before I stepped in and I want to honor that. I strive to capture each raw moment as it is — organically, as it unfolds. With a background in fashion and editorial work, I also incorporate romantic poses that truly make each couple shine. This guarantees beautiful imagery to look back on for years to come.

Awarded Best of Zola
AnnAnn has an incredible eye for portraits. Her portfolio is THE reason we chose her to be our wedding photographer. AnnAnn's choice of lighting and framing creates beautiful snapshots and takes us right back to the moment. We are so, so impressed by the rich and true to life coloring of everyone’s varied skin tones, the vibrant dress colors, and the luxe black tuxes. I wish I had better vocabulary to describe just how well composed and balanced our formal portraits and also the candid moments are. Since we choose not to hire a videographer for our wedding day, we wanted every photo to help us remember the emotional beats of our wedding day. AnnAnn absolutely delivered and then some!

I am a wedding photographer based in NYC, I absolutely love capturing the moments of a wedding day, all the way from the details, your unique moments, traditions, your portraits, and your fun party time. My favorite part of any wedding is either the vow exchange or the speeches of your special people, I always am touched by the thoughtful words.

Awarded Best of Zola
Clara was an amazing photographer and very detail oriented. She's incredibly professional and mindful of any concerns that you may have (insecurities in front of the camera, making sure you get all of the shots you want). She's very good about providing direction and has an excellent eye for composition. And finally, I thought she was very affordable and the turn around for the sneak peaks were amazing. The rest of the photos also came in promptly, a month later. I'm only showing some photographs b/c husband hates having his face on the internet, but look at how beautiful these shots are! The ones with his face are also great :) I'm also sharing the one with my friend, who was our witness.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience working with Le Image and will work with them again in the future. Our engagement and wedding photos and trail came out so beautifully by Serge and his team. Stephanie, who was our officiant, gave us a ceremony to remember and cherish for the rest of our lives. Our friends and family are still talking about how moved they are by our ceremony. Le Image, thank you so very much for giving us an experience of a lifetime and memories we will hold forever.

Amazing! So incredibly talented, but also sweet and down to earth and great to work with. Karen shot our first family portraits along the promenade, and I still can't believe how well they came out. Totally get why she has such a great reputation as a wedding photographer.

Carole Cohen Photography

Brooklyn, NY

A Parisian transplant based in Brooklyn, I fell into with wedding photography very randomly on a New Year's Eve and it was an instant match for me. Since then, I've shot weddings in all sorts of venues from massive mansions to art galleries in New-York, Paris, the French Riviera, Scotland, and Portugal. When I'm not shooting weddings, you'll find me at home with my cat and husband, or travelling across the world. 30 countries and counting!

We found Carole on Instagram, and after our first call, we knew she was the right fit for us. We clicked immediately, and she made the whole process feel easy from the start. Throughout planning, she helped us think through timelines, answered countless random questions, and was always willing to share advice—even when it had nothing to do with photography. On the wedding day, she kept everything moving, wasn't afraid to take charge when family photos got chaotic, and was also totally down for whatever adventure we threw her way—whether that was riding the subway to our ceremony or stopping to take photos with the random cat we found on the street. Some of those photos ended up being our favorites. What we love most about Carole's photography is how natural and intentional it feels. Looking through our gallery, we were amazed by all the little details she captured—the personal touches we spent months planning, the interactions we missed in the moment, and the small moments that made the day feel so special. The photos don't just document what happened; they genuinely capture the feeling of the day. Every image feels like a memory rather than a posed shot. Hiring Carole was one of the best decisions we made, and we'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania but I've lived all over the country and have finally landed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. My personal hobbies include rock climbing, learning French, fine-tuning my espresso skills, and drinking the best wine I can get my hands on (yes, if you're getting married at a winery, I'm interested!). I've been photographing weddings since 2009 (that's 15 years!) and I'm still not even the least bit bored. Hell, I still cry at weddings on a regular basis. Staying emotional and in the moment is what allows me to capture the moments that matter most to my couples.

I’ve known and worked with Brindamour Photography over the past few years. Rima puts everyone at ease, even camera shy nerds like me. She and her company seem to always capture the shot. They’re phone number circulates through many friend groups as “this is who you hire” kind of thing. I’m a small business owner and work w a very discerning clientele. They always come back raving. Rima at Brindamour won’t let you down.
