Finding a photographer was honestly one of the biggest challenges for me. I was so happy that Natalia had our wedding date available. I had been following her on Instagram for a long time before reaching out. Her photography feels incredibly inspiring - intimate, cozy, warm, and full of atmosphere. The emotions feel real, the color composition is beautiful, and the photos are neither overexposed nor overly retouched like so many others I came across. That’s exactly why I chose her - and I absolutely did not regret it. I also want to mention that we received our first wedding photos literally the next day, which completely surprised me. (I was so busy with the wedding that I actually forgot it was written in the contract!) I expected to wait at least a week before seeing any previews. Natalia is incredibly responsible, easy to work with, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the day. She guided us with posing when needed and created such a calm and pleasant experience overall. I’m beyond happy with the result and highly recommend this talented photographer!

I present fun, elegant, and exciting Wedding Photography for my clients. My style is photojournalistic; I feel it's the most effective way to tell a story. After all, there is so much happening on a wedding day. Between the ceremony, dancing, and endless extravaganzas, the most memorable moments will naturally occur.  My goal is to capture the emotions and memories of your day through my lens. These recollections are your forever keepsakes, a chapter of your life's story. Every image accounts for those who were by your side, delighted for you, and the next step in your journey. I appreciate you for giving me a few moments of your time.t

My husband and I were from out of town and hired Sean to photograph us at a Christmas gala at the place we got married. He was accommodating to last minute changes to make the most of the session and even went above and beyond to make it happen. Upon first impression, he was upbeat and had a vision. We were outside in sub 30 degree weather with fading evening light as well as low light inside a building and he was up for the challenge. We ended up with beautiful images in less than ideal conditions and that is what makes a great photographer. Sean has a sense of humor and an eye for that perfect photograph. He was fun to work with and his heart for people and creativity shows through. Thank you Sean for capturing this time in our lives.

Emma Melin Studios
Rating: 5.0 (56 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $8,000

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring Emma Melin Studios was a perfect process from booking through present day! My husband and I knew Emma was a great fit for our desired wedding day photos as soon as we completed our initial meeting. Emma knew exactly the style of photos we wanted and the feel we hoped would be captured from our special day. Day of, we had Emma’s two amazing associate shooters taking both digital and film photos — my husband and I could not believe what we saw.. Truly fun, emotional, energetic, and overall perfect photos from the most spectacular day of our lives. Emma’s timeliness in getting us wedding preview and our entire wedding galley was truly in lighting speed and we just cannot be more great for how perfect our day with family and friends was captured.

Bailey Quinlan (she/they) is a photographic artist based in Brooklyn, NY working in both film & digital. We are incredibly happy with our wedding photos! Bailey really has "the eye." Her artsy and elegant photos are magazine-worthy and really tell a story. If you're looking for the opposite of cheesy wedding photography, your search ends here. I was already quite certain I was going to book Bailey based on her portfolio alone, but the introductory video phone call sealed the deal. Steven Rosen Photography
Rating: 5.0 (42 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,500

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steven was a godsend for my husband and I. Not only is he an incredibly creative and effective wedding photographer, he helped us with insight and experience to ensure our entire day went off without a hitch. Very few people can say their wedding was perfect- but we were blessed to have not just a perfect day, but a day that exceeded our highest goals and expectations and much of that was due to Steven. We will be forever grateful for his vision, organization, insights and style.

Hi! I'm Sarah. Congratulations on taking the next step in your wedding planning! Choosing to work with me earns you more than just a photographer; you get a hype-girl, a dress fluffer, a confidant and a new best friend. Since we are now future besties, here's what you should know about me: My love for portraiture stems from the joy it brings me to make others feel beautiful. Few things make me feel as giddy as photographing weddings, engagements & proposals, and I can't wait to capture the next stage of your love story. My strengths lie in natural lighting, illuminating colors, and catching the candid moments that make you, you.

Awarded Best of Zola
We opted for an intimate City Hall ceremony before we host larger celebrations with friends and family, and Sarah was the PERFECT choice for our special day as our witness-photographer. She ensured we were prepared and that she understood our vision in advance, and she immediately made us feel so comfortable day-of. Wedding jitters? Awkward poses? Not here!! It was so fun to be photographed by Sarah, like hanging out with a friend who works magic with a camera. She knows exactly how to prompt you to get your best angles. We got all the shots we wanted and more, and she captured the light, movement and emotion of the day beautifully despite it being mid-February, i.e. below freezing and windswept! It was a magical experience and we can’t stop looking at our photos. We’re grateful to Sarah for making our (first) wedding day so memorable and delivering such a gorgeous gallery. She even got a few pics to us that same day so we could send them to our families. Five stars, highly recommend, no notes!

Steph Smith Photo
Rating: 5.0 (23 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

I started learning photography in my high school's darkroom. I was there so much, they gave me my own key so I could come in on weekends. In the mid-aughts, I brought my art kid sensibilities to Brooklyn, and here’s been home ever since. In true New York fashion, I’ve had many jobs— but photography's been my full-time focus for more than a decade. Just me, a concerning number of cameras, and my cat. I'm going to take photos anyway, so some of them should really be of you. While I duly rely on the miracle that is digital, I remain grounded in the discipline of analog. I love incorporating film photography for my clients wherever I can.

Awarded Best of Zola
We truly had the most amazing experience with Steph as our wedding photographer. From the very beginning, she understood exactly what we wanted — candid, intimate, in-the-moment photos that felt real and unposed. And that’s exactly what she delivered. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day. She captured all the little moments — the quiet glances, the bursts of laughter, the in-between seconds you don’t even realize are happening — and somehow froze them in time. Nothing feels staged. Every photo feels alive. Her style is artsy and fun without ever trying too hard. She completely captured the essence of our Brooklyn wedding — from our backyard ceremony filled with those who are closest to us to the most fun party that followed at our favorite dive bar. The photos feel like us. If you’re looking for someone who can document your wedding in a way that feels authentic, emotional, and effortlessly cool, Steph is it. We couldn’t be happier.

Awarded Best of Zola
Sandy Soohoo is a dream. She is extremely talented and creative, knowledgeable about the industry, realistic about the challenges, reliable and responsive- all while being a joyous energy and pleasure to be around. For those reasons, I couldn't have imagined a better photographer for our wedding - or person to be by my side throughout that entire day and evening. She works with a variety of mediums (lens, cameras, flash/no flash) to obtain a variety of styles for the photos, which all turned out unique and fully capturing different "perspectives" of the event - and most importantly, capturing the true essence of the joy and outward and inner beauty of the wedding. The photos turned out beautiful, have this journalistic yet ethereal feel- an artistic quality which I believe is a rare skill. I'm so thankful for having worked with Sandy!!

My goal is to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, looking your best while allowing you to enjoy your day.

I booked Patricia for my daughter's Sweet 16. She had suggested we go to Central park for an outdoor portrait photo-shoot. Words cannot express how amazing those images turned out. My daughter looked like a real princess at the Central park Bethesda Fountain and stairs. She looked like Cinderella. We used those same images to make banners for the day of her big party. Patricia was also booked for the big day and took some great photos of my daughter in the limo, grand entrance and overall dancing images of her with all her teenage friends. I am so grateful that she captured such a wonderful moment in our lives! I already recommended her to my friends!

RHB Studios
Rating: 5.0 (16 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY

Hi, my name is Riley! I am a documentary photographer with a focus in human connection. I am inspired by the individualism of every relationship and strive to create photographs unique to that couple! I proudly celebrate all love stories. RHB Studios is a safe and welcoming environment for individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.

Riley captured both our city hall civil ceremony in Dec 2025 and our larger wedding in May 2026. We cannot recommend her enough - during the lead up to both events, she was incredibly organized and communicative, and on the day she was fantastic - so professional, efficient, and made us and our families so comfortable in front of the camera. Amanda and Ruthie, the second shooter and assistant that she brought for our larger wedding, were also incredible and brought such a good energy to the rainy day. We had cold, wet weather on both days and while we might have been disappointed under ordinary circumstances, her photos beyond made up for the unlucky weather - I'm actually so happy that we got some rainy, cloudy shots now! As a queer couple, Riley and her team made us feel so comfortable being ourselves, and we can't thank them enough for this - we felt so supported on our big day, and we're so happy we have the photos to show for it too. Choosing RHB Studios was definitely one of the best decisions we made for both our weddings!

Stef Reyes Photo
Rating: 5.0 (15 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200

Hi, I'm Stef. I photograph intimate weddings, NYC City Hall ceremonies, and micro celebrations where presence matters more than production. My approach is documentary at its core. I'm not directing every moment, I'm moving through your day quietly, watching for the ones that actually matter. I shoot both digital and 35mm film, not as an aesthetic choice but because film asks everyone to slow down a little. That slowness is kind of the whole point. Based in New York City and the Hudson Valley, available for travel.

Awarded Best of Zola
I reached out to Stef a couple of days before my last-minute City Hall ceremony scheduled for 9:30am on a Friday. That’s too early and too last-minute for many wedding photographers, but Stef was such a great sport. She took a few posed photos of the group then followed us on a walk up the Bowery and through Chinatown to get to our brunch spot, snapping fantastic documentary-style photos all along the way. We wanted to remember the moment for what it was, without staging shots. The photos were exactly what we hoped for.

Natura Collective
Rating: 5.0 (12 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,500

Hey there! My partner Emilio and I have been shooting together for over TEN years (wowee). I personally shot my first wedding back in 2010! We're an LGBT owned company and we are so so so passionate about making sure everyone feels represented in a sometimes white-washed straight appearing industry, we love inclusivity. Our main goal is you having the best stress-free and FUN wedding photo/video experience.

I want to emphasize how grateful we are for Christian & Emilio at Natura Collective, who did the most gorgeous and unique photography for our engagement and our wedding (we also did a video for our wedding which we haven't seen yet but are very confident it will be incredible). It took us a while to find photographers/videographers who had portfolios we loved and were affordable. Additionally, as a queer couple, we felt it was important to hire queer (or queer-friendly) vendors, so we were really excited and proud to support Natura Collective. Christian and Emilio are very personable and easy to get along with. Their process of figuring out what we wanted and communicating our preferences was straightforward and seamless. The preview gallery we have is dreamy; they delivered beyond what we were looking for, and when I look at the pictures, I feel like I'm transported right back to our wedding night, which I'm already feeling sentimental about because it's over. Thank you!!!! Book them!!!! You will not regret it.

Our names are Tess Mayer & Julia Wang and we are photography duo based in NYC. We met our freshman year at NYU Tisch and since then have run a magazine together, worked as teaching assistants at ICP & NYU, and shot our first wedding our senior year. Our style is a blend of candid documentary and stylized portraiture - we approach your day not as strangers following you around, but as excited guests (who happen to be carrying around cameras and massive lenses) who will most likely cry during your vows. We love small, intimate and relaxed weddings.

Awarded Best of Zola
Tess went above and beyond to document our intimate wedding! We loved how she was able to capture the celebration on so many different mediums - from Polaroid, to digital, to film - and did so seamlessly without missing a shot. She was incredibly responsive to our vision and helped create a smooth and efficient timeline for photographing the various events of the day, from behind-the-scenes getting ready photos to family portraits. Tess was efficient and timely with sharing the final prints following the celebration, and she made it incredibly easy to share with friends and family via a personalized link. Overall, our experience with Tess was incredibly positive and we highly recommend hiring her for any of your photography needs :)

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do we even start? Not only was Blythe a creative genius, but she kept us both calm, cool, and collected the entire event. From our first look to the cake cutting, Blythe was there with helpful guidance and a keen eye for snapping beautiful candids. During our time together we had quickly developed a rapport with her, that even during moments of panic with other vendors and family members, Blythe was there advocating for our needs. To have a Queer photographer shoot us (a Queer couple) felt amazing, she was able to capture our joy and love and liberation throughout the entire day. I would recommend Blythe 1000000 times over. Truly an amazing photographer and creative. The photos themselves are stunning, friends that we've shown our sneak peaks to have remarked how "this could be on the cover of vogue" and "your photographer was so good! These (photos) are so cool looking". {Zola only allows you to share small file photos- so sadly we can't upload her stunning photography skills-just screenshots}

I started my journey as a portrait & fashion photographer, working with modeling agencies and brands, primarily in New York City and Dallas. I would describe my style as authentic, editorial, and timeless. My love for photographing couples and their unique love stories stemmed from my love of photojournalism. Your story existed long before I stepped in and I want to honor that. I strive to capture each raw moment as it is — organically, as it unfolds. With a background in fashion and editorial work, I also incorporate romantic poses that truly make each couple shine. This guarantees beautiful imagery to look back on for years to come.

It has been so incredibly awesome to follow her work since then. When I was planning my wedding I had known I wouldn’t want anyone else to be my photographer. Not only did she capture amazing photos of such a special night but she also made everyone feel so comfortable. As a couple who is incredibly camera shy, AnnAnn provided the perfect amount of direction to make us feel confident, and not awkward. My entire bridal party came up to me to tell me how awesome she was as well. Her calm presence puts everyone at ease! Beyond that, AnnAnn is the ONLY reason we ended up sticking somewhat to our schedule for the night. We had an outdoor wedding, and after a beautifully sunny morning, just as I was about to walk down the aisle, it started POURING. To adjust when we were going to take family portraits, AnnAnn quickly helped me reorganize the order of events. She helped me move up my reception so we could get all of the photos we wanted. She made sure to keep an eye on the forecast for the rest of the day, and adjusted the schedule as needed. The next day when my family and I were still waking up and only just starting to think about breakfast, AnnAnn had sent previews. We all huddled around my phone and were just in awe. They were everything I could have ever asked for and so much more. Even my father in law, who can be a grumpy old man couldn’t stop telling me how amazing they were. We were so excited for the rest of the photos to come through, and we were NOT disappointed. I could not recommend someone more than I could recommend AnnAnn. She is truly such a delight!

Hello! I am Clara. I am a wedding photographer based in NYC, I absolutely love capturing the moments of a wedding day, all the way from the details, your unique moments, traditions, your portraits, and your fun party time. My favorite part of any wedding is either the vow exchange or the speeches of your special people, I always am touched by the thoughtful words.

Clara was an amazing photographer and very detail oriented. She's incredibly professional and mindful of any concerns that you may have (insecurities in front of the camera, making sure you get all of the shots you want). She's very good about providing direction and has an excellent eye for composition. And finally, I thought she was very affordable and the turn around for the sneak peaks were amazing. The rest of the photos also came in promptly, a month later. I'm only showing some photographs b/c husband hates having his face on the internet, but look at how beautiful these shots are! The ones with his face are also great :) I'm also sharing the one with my friend, who was our witness.

Karen Wise is a phenomenal photographer! She helped out when I was in desperate need of a photographer for my proposal and was very easy to work with. Her and her coworker played into the surprise, and were very gracious by recording the proposal, even without me asking. I was provided with more photos that I had originally thought I was going to get, and all of them were fantastic. Karen is professional, hardworking, and eager to make your day as special as possible. I would highly recommend!

A Parisian transplant based in Brooklyn, I fell into with wedding photography very randomly on a New Year's Eve and it was an instant match for me. Since then, I've shot weddings in all sorts of venues from massive mansions to art galleries in New-York, Paris, the French Riviera, Scotland, and Portugal. When I'm not shooting weddings, you'll find me at home with my cat and husband, or travelling across the world. 30 countries and counting!

We found Carole on Instagram, and after our first call, we knew she was the right fit for us. We clicked immediately, and she made the whole process feel easy from the start. Throughout planning, she helped us think through timelines, answered countless random questions, and was always willing to share advice—even when it had nothing to do with photography. On the wedding day, she kept everything moving, wasn't afraid to take charge when family photos got chaotic, and was also totally down for whatever adventure we threw her way—whether that was riding the subway to our ceremony or stopping to take photos with the random cat we found on the street. Some of those photos ended up being our favorites. What we love most about Carole's photography is how natural and intentional it feels. Looking through our gallery, we were amazed by all the little details she captured—the personal touches we spent months planning, the interactions we missed in the moment, and the small moments that made the day feel so special. The photos don't just document what happened; they genuinely capture the feeling of the day. Every image feels like a memory rather than a posed shot. Hiring Carole was one of the best decisions we made, and we'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania but I've lived all over the country and have finally landed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. My personal hobbies include rock climbing, learning French, fine-tuning my espresso skills, and drinking the best wine I can get my hands on (yes, if you're getting married at a winery, I'm interested!). I've been photographing weddings since 2009 (that's 15 years!) and I'm still not even the least bit bored. Hell, I still cry at weddings on a regular basis. Staying emotional and in the moment is what allows me to capture the moments that matter most to my couples.

We have had the pleasure of working with Rima four times over the last few years. She not only took amazing photos of our engagement and wedding but also did family pictures. Any photographer who can get a toddler to cooperate is a winner in my book! Rima’s pictures are timeless and classic. She really captured our personalities and made us feel comfortable. I couldn’t recommend her more!
