My partner and I hired Sean for our engagement photos and we were extremely impressed! He was super helpful in helping us pose and very skilled in the ways he used lighting to capture our best features. He captured really genuine moments with such skill. He also made sure the job was well done and he got all the photos that we could have wanted. We had a blast working with him! The photos are stunning and I genuinely can’t stop looking at them! My partner and I tend to feel awkward getting our picture taken but Sean created such a comfortable space for us. We would highly recommend booking Sean.

If you are looking for a photographer book Emma Melin Studios!!! We had received endless recommendations for our Novemeber 2024 wedding and Emma Melin Studios was on every recommendation, because she’s that good! We met Emma over zoom in Jan 2024, she was polite, kind, and genuinely wanted to hear about on LGBTQ love story and our vision for our wedding day. Emma shot our engagement shoot in Asbury Park NJ (a place that is so special to us) we have such a blast grabbing drinks, pizza, and even ice cream throughout our shoot, which led to phenomenal engagement photos that truly fit our relationship and personalities to a T. During the shoot Emma communicated with us effectively, letting us be ourselves. Fast forward to the best day of our lives. 11.02.24– Emma shot our wedding day in Philadelphia, PA. She communicated with us over zoom the week prior to create a timeline and to discuss a list of things we definitely wanted her to capture. I remember sitting in the chair getting my hair done when she came to the bridal suite all my nerves went away. Emma radiates passion for her craft while truly appreciating every relationship she encounters. Emma made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day, hyped us up, and took the dopest pictures of everything we wanted and more. We not only gained endless memories to relive through these photos but we always gained a friend for life. Whatever you do- book Emma Melin Studios!

Bailey Quinlan (she/they) is a photographic artist based in Brooklyn, NY working in both film & digital. With a bachelor’s degree in Fine Art & an unshakable entrepreneurial spirit, she started her own business photographing weddings professionally in 2016, and has documented 100’s of celebrations since. Her fine art background informs her creative & personal approach to photographing weddings. She brings fresh eyes & ears to every couple she meets, focusing on what truly matters to them, to ensure her clients’ priorities & personalities shine through in their photos.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are incredibly happy with our wedding photos! Bailey really has "the eye." Her artsy and elegant photos are magazine-worthy and really tell a story. If you're looking for the opposite of cheesy wedding photography, your search ends here. I was already quite certain I was going to book Bailey based on her portfolio alone, but the introductory video phone call sealed the deal. Bailey's warm and friendly personality really puts you at ease, and by the time our wedding day(s) (an elopement and later reception) arrived, it felt like we were having our pictures taken by a dear friend.

Steven Rosen Photography
Rating: 5.0 (42 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,500

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steven photographed our wedding and prepared photos and an album for us. His work throughout was excellent, from input on a schedule for photos during the event, to posing the family and guests, suggesting positive changes to some steps of the ceremony, capturing great moments, keeping the day on track, and working with us on the album. His layout and editing for the album were terrific, very professional, attentive to themes and telling the story through images, and with a great eye for combinations. We recommend Steven without hesitation for your special days!

Brooklyn, NY
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $3,800

Hi! I'm Sarah. Congratulations on taking the next step in your wedding planning! Choosing to work with me earns you more than just a photographer; you get a hype-girl, a dress fluffer, a confidant and a new best friend. Since we are now future besties, here's what you should know about me: My love for portraiture stems from the joy it brings me to make others feel beautiful. Few things make me feel as giddy as photographing weddings, engagements & proposals, and I can't wait to capture the next stage of your love story. My strengths lie in natural lighting, illuminating colors, and catching the candid moments that make you, you.

Awarded Best of Zola
There is not enough good things we can say about Sarah! From day 1, she had great communication before the proposal while deciding the perfect location and how we would meet up with her. She executed flawlessly and I never saw her until the ring was on my finger even though she followed us for a bit before the big moment. She made us feel so comfortable for the photoshoot after and was willing to go to a few different spots with us all while carrying all of our stuff so it wouldn’t be in our pockets for the pictures. We received the sneak peeks the next day and were blown away with how well they turned out, she nailed it!! She got the big “I do” moment which was most important and then captured so many other sweet moments right before and after that I will forever be so grateful we can relive because of her photos. The best thing about her is that you can feel the joy coming out of the screen when you look through her galleries. So many people have raved over how well our engagement photos turned out. Everyone should book Sarah, she is so great at what she does!!

Steph Smith Photo
Rating: 5.0 (23 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

I started learning photography in my high school's darkroom. I was there so much, they gave me my own key so I could come in on weekends. In the mid-aughts, I brought my art kid sensibilities to Brooklyn, and here’s been home ever since. In true New York fashion, I’ve had many jobs— but photography's been my full-time focus for more than a decade. Just me, a concerning number of cameras, and my cat. I'm going to take photos anyway, so some of them should really be of you. While I duly rely on the miracle that is digital, I remain grounded in the discipline of analog. I love incorporating film photography for my clients wherever I can.

Awarded Best of Zola
We truly had the most amazing experience with Steph as our wedding photographer. From the very beginning, she understood exactly what we wanted — candid, intimate, in-the-moment photos that felt real and unposed. And that’s exactly what she delivered. Looking through our gallery feels like reliving the day. She captured all the little moments — the quiet glances, the bursts of laughter, the in-between seconds you don’t even realize are happening — and somehow froze them in time. Nothing feels staged. Every photo feels alive. Her style is artsy and fun without ever trying too hard. She completely captured the essence of our Brooklyn wedding — from our backyard ceremony filled with those who are closest to us to the most fun party that followed at our favorite dive bar. The photos feel like us. If you’re looking for someone who can document your wedding in a way that feels authentic, emotional, and effortlessly cool, Steph is it. We couldn’t be happier.

Awarded Best of Zola
Sandy Soohoo is a dream. She is extremely talented and creative, knowledgeable about the industry, realistic about the challenges, reliable and responsive- all while being a joyous energy and pleasure to be around. For those reasons, I couldn't have imagined a better photographer for our wedding - or person to be by my side throughout that entire day and evening. She works with a variety of mediums (lens, cameras, flash/no flash) to obtain a variety of styles for the photos, which all turned out unique and fully capturing different "perspectives" of the event - and most importantly, capturing the true essence of the joy and outward and inner beauty of the wedding. The photos turned out beautiful, have this journalistic yet ethereal feel- an artistic quality which I believe is a rare skill. I'm so thankful for having worked with Sandy!!

I booked Patricia for my daughter's Sweet 16. She had suggested we go to Central park for an outdoor portrait photo-shoot. Words cannot express how amazing those images turned out. My daughter looked like a real princess at the Central park Bethesda Fountain and stairs. She looked like Cinderella. We used those same images to make banners for the day of her big party. Patricia was also booked for the big day and took some great photos of my daughter in the limo, grand entrance and overall dancing images of her with all her teenage friends. I am so grateful that she captured such a wonderful moment in our lives! I already recommended her to my friends!

Stef Reyes Photo
Rating: 5.0 (15 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200

Hi, I'm Stef. I photograph intimate weddings, NYC City Hall ceremonies, and micro celebrations where presence matters more than production. My approach is documentary at its core. I'm not directing every moment, I'm moving through your day quietly, watching for the ones that actually matter. I shoot both digital and 35mm film, not as an aesthetic choice but because film asks everyone to slow down a little. That slowness is kind of the whole point. Based in New York City and the Hudson Valley, available for travel.

Awarded Best of Zola
From start to finish, Stef was such an absolute pleasure to work with! I can’t recommend her enough. Her communication with us was easy and kind from the get go, and she was very knowledgeable about her craft. Our photos are absolutely stunning! We have gotten so many compliments from family and friends. I even had one good friend say that if she ever gets married, she will ask me for Stef’s contact info :) Thank you Stef, for beautifully capturing the best day of our lives.

Natura Collective

Hey there! My partner Emilio and I have been shooting together for over TEN years (wowee). I personally shot my first wedding back in 2010! We're an LGBT owned company and we are so so so passionate about making sure everyone feels represented in a sometimes white-washed straight appearing industry, we love inclusivity. Our main goal is you having the best stress-free and FUN wedding photo/video experience.

Natura Collective is without a doubt the best photographer/videographer. Booking them was hands down the best decision I made during wedding planning and I can’t wait to hire them for all my future events. It’s super rare to not only love the work that a vendor does but to also love them as people. They’re so genuine and beyond easy to work with. Please don’t walk but run to book them because they’re incredible and will continue to book up fast.

Tess and Julia Weddings
Rating: 5.0 (11 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Fine art style
  • Starts at $2,800

Our names are Tess Mayer & Julia Wang and we are photography duo based in NYC. We met our freshman year at NYU Tisch and since then have run a magazine together, worked as teaching assistants at ICP & NYU, and shot our first wedding our senior year. Our style is a blend of candid documentary and stylized portraiture - we approach your day not as strangers following you around, but as excited guests (who happen to be carrying around cameras and massive lenses) who will most likely cry during your vows. We love small, intimate and relaxed weddings.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Tess to photograph our wedding and the experience was wonderful! When choosing a wedding photographer, you’re choosing someone to spend the day with you at some of the most emotional moments of your wedding day. Tess was an amazing choice for that role. She was kind, easy-going, and became a great friend throughout the day. We met over FaceTime well before the wedding to communicate our photo goals. She asked us to curate a Pinterest board for her and to set some “must have” photos. In addition to standard photos, we also got film photos. Her style throughout the day was to be a “fly-on-the-wall” but to also intermittently direct us to make sure we got the photos we had asked her for. My husband, who’s not much of a “photos guy”, was so impressed when we received the results. We loved working with her!

Awarded Best of Zola
I LOVED working with Agnes and Brian because they made my prewedding shoot light with jokes and laughter. They even had my un-photogenic husband look natural in every shot. Working with them was super easy and fun that my husband and I got more pictures than we normally do with other photographers. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to everyone in NYC and Florida.

Blythe Thomas
Rating: 5.0 (10 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Editorial style
  • Starts at $1,500

Hi! I'm Blythe. I've worked primarily as a music video director and photographer for over 10 years. Along the way, I've taken photos of couples and loved ones during some of their most special moments - proposals, weddings, engagements, elopements, births. I truly find it to be such an honor and joy getting to capture timeless images with wonderful people.

Awarded Best of Zola
Where do we even start? Not only was Blythe a creative genius, but she kept us both calm, cool, and collected the entire event. From our first look to the cake cutting, Blythe was there with helpful guidance and a keen eye for snapping beautiful candids. During our time together we had quickly developed a rapport with her, that even during moments of panic with other vendors and family members, Blythe was there advocating for our needs. To have a Queer photographer shoot us (a Queer couple) felt amazing, she was able to capture our joy and love and liberation throughout the entire day. I would recommend Blythe 1000000 times over. Truly an amazing photographer and creative. The photos themselves are stunning, friends that we've shown our sneak peaks to have remarked how "this could be on the cover of vogue" and "your photographer was so good! These (photos) are so cool looking". {Zola only allows you to share small file photos- so sadly we can't upload her stunning photography skills-just screenshots}

It's an honor to be put in the role of capturing a couple’s most special moments.”

We have worked with Karen Wise Photography for years and every time we do, we have a wonderful experience. Karen and her team are very respectful of our cinematography team so both teams can get the shots our couples are looking for. She's always easy to communicate with throughout the planning process and on the day-of. We can't wait to have the opportunity to work with her again soon!

A Parisian transplant based in Brooklyn, I fell into with wedding photography very randomly on a New Year's Eve and it was an instant match for me. Since then, I've shot weddings in all sorts of venues from massive mansions to art galleries in New-York, Paris, the French Riviera, Scotland, and Portugal. When I'm not shooting weddings, you'll find me at home with my cat and husband, or travelling across the world. 30 countries and counting!

We found Carole on Instagram, and after our first call, we knew she was the right fit for us. We clicked immediately, and she made the whole process feel easy from the start. Throughout planning, she helped us think through timelines, answered countless random questions, and was always willing to share advice—even when it had nothing to do with photography. On the wedding day, she kept everything moving, wasn't afraid to take charge when family photos got chaotic, and was also totally down for whatever adventure we threw her way—whether that was riding the subway to our ceremony or stopping to take photos with the random cat we found on the street. Some of those photos ended up being our favorites. What we love most about Carole's photography is how natural and intentional it feels. Looking through our gallery, we were amazed by all the little details she captured—the personal touches we spent months planning, the interactions we missed in the moment, and the small moments that made the day feel so special. The photos don't just document what happened; they genuinely capture the feeling of the day. Every image feels like a memory rather than a posed shot. Hiring Carole was one of the best decisions we made, and we'd recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

I'm originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania but I've lived all over the country and have finally landed in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. My personal hobbies include rock climbing, learning French, fine-tuning my espresso skills, and drinking the best wine I can get my hands on (yes, if you're getting married at a winery, I'm interested!). I've been photographing weddings since 2009 (that's 15 years!) and I'm still not even the least bit bored. Hell, I still cry at weddings on a regular basis. Staying emotional and in the moment is what allows me to capture the moments that matter most to my couples.

Rima just gets it! She captured all the moments, talked us through the awkwardness of posing and my wedding photos feel so genuine, no harsh or dramatic filters. Even at the same venues and locations, she doesn’t take the same photos. She’s incredibly creative and quickly got a feel for my style and the moments I wanted to capture. Rima was an absolute pleasure to work with, she was great with our wedding guests and I had such a wonderful experience that I jumped at the opportunity to work with her again - at my company’s holiday party!
