April Showers Events
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Offers 9 ceremony types
  • Starts at $350

Born from my own real wedding day washed in rain, April Showers Events is built on one simple truth: when the unexpected occurs, the real magic happens. As a mother, daughter, wife and sister I know the importance of celebrating big moments. I also know the value of having reliable help to ensure that the party you've planned is also one that you get to enjoy. I am a storyteller at heart and find event coordination a most delightful medium - for all celebrations tell someone's story, be it the beginning, middle or end. My passion is discovering the best way to tell yours.

Dana became our wedding coordinator last minute after we had a negative experience with another coordinator, and we couldn't be happier that we ended up with her! She got to work right away catching up on all the details quickly and had such a positive attitude the entire process despite the last minute rush. We had a huge wedding party, and Dana was able to help us through the challenge of rehearsing the ceremony with them when our venue wasn't available the night prior, and made sure everyone was where they need to be the day of. She was the perfect mix of professional, positive and bubbly to make sure that everything went smoothly but also didn't feel stressful! She was always available when we needed her and she went above and beyond when working with our vendors to ensure all dots were connected. We loved working with Dana and couldn't recommend her more to make your day seamless and stress free. She is the best, and we consider her a friend after working with her!

Most couples who work with me take their relationship seriously, but don't take themselves too seriously. They're educated, do Wordle, read the NY Times and have a healthy sense of reality. Since 2011, I've been writing and performing personal, meaningful and refreshingly engaging ceremonies. Couples work with me in an easy, collaborative way. I take guest experience and your wishes very seriously. I have the ability to command a room, a writer's knack for shaping a story, an emcee's sense of timing, and experience at the most prestigious venues. My BFA in Acting (Boston University) and MFA in Creative Writing (NYU) serve me well.

Awarded Best of Zola
We truly can’t say enough good things about Chris Shelley. He made our ceremony unforgettable—genuine, heartfelt, and so uniquely us. From the very beginning, Chris took the time to get to know us, and it showed in every word he spoke. The stories he told captured our relationship perfectly, striking the perfect balance of sincerity and humor. He had our guests both laughing and tearing up at the same time. So many people came up to us after the ceremony—not just to say how much they loved it, but to ask for Chris’s contact info to pass along to their family and friends. While many ceremonies can feel long or impersonal, Chris created an environment that truly brought everyone together in an engaging and meaningful way.

Hey, I’m Tiara — your modern, non- denominational officiant known for vibrantly authentic ceremonies rooted in heart, humor, and soulful storytelling. I don’t just officiate, I lead. Through story-led ceremony design and a mic-drop delivery, I bring your guests into your love story in a way that feels effortless, elevated, and entirely yours.

This review is long overdue! My husband and I had the wonderful Tiara officiate our wedding 04/20/2023, and she helped make our experience so enjoyable! Not only was she professional, but also compassionate, personable, and helped us with our vows when we were both too overwhelmed to speak. She gave our guests a beautiful explanation of our love for each other, and included a “couple therapy-esque” meeting to get to know us before the wedding, and ended in me having happy tears expressing my love towards my husband during such a stressful time. She gets a 10 out of 10 from us! Make sure you book her for your upcoming wedding!

Dani from Once Upon A Vow was absolutely fantastic to work with on our wedding ceremony. We were having an elopement wedding from the UK to New York, Central Park so Dani’s communication was very important and she was excellent with sending us helpful and proactive emails in advance and throughout the process. We also had a helpful and fun video call to talk through our love story and relationship. Dani was really lovely, friendly, kind, inclusive, upbeat and fun! We felt so comfortable talking to her and knew she was going to be just perfect for officiating our special day. Our ceremony was at the peak of a heat wave in the middle of Central Park and Dani was so professional and read such a thoughtful, personal monologue about what is important to us and special about each other. It was beautiful! We had a lot of options and choices for the ceremony which made it feel really personal to us. We can’t thank Dani enough for such a wonderful start to our married life!

Working with Jackie Reinking, the New York Elopement Officiant, was an absolute joy. Her communication throughout the process was timely, informative and reassuring. The quality of her work and the value she provided was truly second to none. Jackie helped keep my husband calm as he waited for me during our first look, and she also expertly managed the young passers-by who were eager to watch our ceremony. It felt like having a close friend officiate our wedding. Jackie wrote a beautiful ceremony tailored to us as a couple, incorporating readings we had chosen. The entire ceremony was so much fun and really special. Being from the UK, the process of securing our marriage license would have been overwhelming, but Jackie broke it down into simple steps and made the experience feel like an adventure. We are so grateful to Jackie for helping make our wedding day perfect in every way.

I offer something unique: one consistent voice guiding your celebration from start to finish. As both your officiant and/or MC, I bring warmth, clarity, and energy to every stage of your wedding.

Why Knot Wed
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
  • Offers 10 ceremony types
  • Starts at $385
  • Serves Brooklyn, NY

I'm Jenn, NYC's only officiant who combines custom-written ceremonies with premarital coaching, so I can support you on your wedding day and in building the marriage that follows. I create personalized wedding ceremonies for couples throughout NYC, Long Island, The Hamptons, & New Jersey. Every ceremony is thoughtfully crafted around your unique story, relationship, and vision for your day. As the officiant, I'm the first person to welcome your guests and set the tone for the celebration. My goal is to create a warm, meaningful, & memorable ceremony that feels authentic to who you are & leaves a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

When our intended officiant was unavailable for our short-notice elopement in NYC, found Jenn on Thumbtack. She responded within a few minutes, & offered to chat that evening (at 10 p.m., no less!). I felt so comfortable with her after our conversation that I booked her immediately. Her professionalism, knowledge and enthusiasm for what she does put me so at ease - a blessing when one suddenly has to pull off an impromptu wedding in NYC, while living in another state ... with 10 days notice. She checked in with me regularly to ensure everything was moving along well, which was reassuring (when you feel you're herding cats, it's great to have a German Shepherd reliably in the wings). She knows the marriage requirements in NY well, and was a helpful resource. The contract she sent over was transparent & clear re: terms, timing, expectations, etc. I was surprised when she sent a few questions to me and my fiancé, so that she could craft our vows; I hadn't expected that kind of personal, heartfelt interest in our marriage ceremony. She then delivered to us her draft of our vows, in the event we had any edits for her (absolutely none). We met in-person for the first time at the clock in Grand Central - she arrived early (we arrived within the 15-min. grace period) and met up with our photographer. One presumes that a wedding officiant one selects online will be purely transactional - fill out the forms, say the words, sign the paper, thank you, goodbye. I hadn't expected the sudden emotion of speaking our vows, even just alone in the middle of Grand Central on the busy afternoon before Thanksgiving. Jenn was so on top of everything - selecting, with our photographer, the perfect spot for our ceremony, in the Grand Hall; handling the little things one might not have thought about (where do I set down my wrap/purse/bouquet, while I say my vows?) ... She was so warm and had made such effort to learn about us in a short period of time. I was so focused on my fiancé and on her during the ceremony that I didn't even notice the crowd of people who'd surrounded us during our vows (until we kissed, and they cheered). I'm so glad that she was the person to marry us. She enabled me to relax and let the joy of it all to happen, without worrying about a thing. I'm calling it the, 'Jenn Vows Bubble' - even amidst hundreds of strangers, it felt as though our wedding was taking place in a private little space with just Jenn, me and my (now) husband. I could not recommend Jenn more highly as an officiant!

Are you looking for a wedding officiant who will create a ceremony that is as unique and special as your love story? Look no further! I am a licensed wedding officiant with over 8 years of theatre and public speaking experience in crafting ceremonies that are both meaningful and memorable. I offer a variety of services, including: • same sex • bilingual (eng/span) • bicultural • interfaith • non-denominational • secular No matter what type of ceremony you envision, I am here to help you make it a reality. I am passionate about helping couples create a wedding day that they will cherish forever!

We had such a great experience with Mariela for our small, four-person legal ceremony. She was elegant, articulate, and brought a sense of grace and professionalism that made the day feel even more special. Her services were also reasonably priced, which was a big plus for us. During our phone call, she was very helpful and even offered to help us write our vows ( (we didn’t end up using that service) which was such a kind offer. She was happy to walk us through the process and offered us a bunch of resources like poems and quotes to consider for the ceremony. On the day of, she was punctual, dressed appropriately, and really respectful throughout the whole process. During the ceremony, she had the perfect speaking voice for the occasion and was on point. When I visibly started to get emotional while she was speaking, without missing a beat, she handed me a tissue which was such a thoughtful gesture. You could tell she’s done this a lot and knew exactly what was needed in that moment. Overall, we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, polished, and accommodating officiant for their big day.

Reverend Ron ensures a stress-free wedding ceremony so that you can fully enjoy your special day along with family and friends. He will meet with you in person, or, if you prefer, through Zoom or phone. In addition, he will offer you a special love questionnaire. Based on meeting you, talking to you, and the special questionnaire, he will offer you a totally unique ceremony designed just for the two of you.

When we started to plan our dream wedding, we thought it might be quite a bit of a challenge. As a couple of Baseball fans, our wish was to have a Baseball themed wedding and be married on a Baseball field in Central Park New York on the 4th of July. Not to mention we live in Brisbane Australia and thought how do we go about this. We found Reverend Ron Sheppard through a general Wedding website. We reached out to Rev Ron who replied within 24 hours. After our initial website contact we continually communicated via emails and international phone calls. We advised Rev Ron of our unique Wedding wishes. Being a huge Baseball fan himself, he was open minded to our request, Rev Ron was very supportive, encouraging and able to further assist with our planning, by providing a variety of contacts of other Wedding Services that we could not easily find, due to the fact we live and were travelling from Australia and did not know anyone at all. Even though it was a National Public Holiday, Rev Ron officiated our Baseball themed Wedding Ceremony with no second thoughts or reservations. We are extremely happy with Rev Ron for his very professional and personal service. He is passionate with amazing attention to detail. The willingness to accommodate our unique requests. Eg a Baseball Themed Wedding. Just recently we reached out to Rev Ron again to Officiate Renewing our Wedding Vows on that same Baseball field in Central Park this year on a return trip to New York. Rev Ron was very happy to do this for us. Rev Ron was able to give us the Dream Wedding we wished for and continues to send us best wishes messages on our Anniversary and other special times of the year. We highly recommend him and are forever grateful for Reverend Ron Sheppard. Kim and Grant Williams Brisbane Australia

Are you looking for a bespoke marriage ceremony that is crafted for you? Whether secular or religious, I'll approach your ceremony with the reverence it deserves. I care deeply about the meaning of ritual, and will ensure that each detail reflects your needs. As an ordained minster via the Universal Life Church, I'm a strong believer in religious pluralism and shall tailor a unique ceremony to honor your tradition(s). I am also happy to perform interfaith ceremonies. I don't discriminate when it comes to sexuality and gender expression. Whether gay, straight, queer, trans, bi, pan, or poly, I will officiate your wedding with joy!

We truly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect officiant — absolutely amazing. From the very beginning, they took the time to get to know us and understand our story, which made the ceremony feel incredibly personal and meaningful. Their delivery was warm, thoughtful, and engaging—exactly what we were hoping for. So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the ceremony was. We’re so grateful for the care and attention they put into making our day so special!

Ever been to a wedding and found the ceremony to be boring or it just felt like the Officiant didn't know the couple? We created our company with one goal in mind; to ensure your Wedding Ceremony is fun, memorable and funny. It is YOUR big day after all. So let's make sure the ceremony reflects why you are! We specialize in creating personalized, funny and memorable ceremonies that reflect the journey the couple has taken together. We meet with you several times before your ceremony. We will design your ceremony from start to finish and provide you with a minute by minute timeline of what will happen that day.

My husband and I first met Jason and his amazing wife Romney while attending a wedding vendors event in Long Island in 2023. We immediately hit it off with them and knew right away that Jason was the perfect choice to officiate our October 2024 ceremony. Through many ups and downs, including changing our venue twice and ultimately deciding on a simple ceremony, Jason was a constant source of support. He provided not only practical advice but also much-needed counseling and laughter during a time when we were struggling. His kindness and lightheartedness made the entire process smoother. This past Tuesday, Jason officiated our small, intimate ceremony surrounded by our loved ones. The day was filled with joy and laughter, and Jason played a huge part in making it truly special. We feel incredibly fortunate to have had him as part of our journey, and we cannot thank him enough for being such an important part of our big day!

I am Rabbi Nikki DeBlosi (she/her) (BA, MA, PhD). It is my passion and privilege to connect folks to the breadth and depth of Jewish tradition through inclusive, innovative, and insightful Jewish ritual. A tattooed, polyamorous, queer, suburban, stay-at-home parent, I was raised Catholic and converted to Judaism as an adult. I approach my work nonjudgmentally, and I know too many of us carry religious trauma. I want to make sure your wedding feels meaningful, relevant, and affirming. I'm an avid reader (especially romance), a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, & a choral singer.

We had the privilege of working with Rabbi Nikki for our interfaith wedding ceremony, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. Nikki was organized and thoughtful about helping us structure a ceremony that felt true to both of our backgrounds while remaining accessible to all our guests. What really stood out was how she brought calm to the chaos leading up to the big day—she had prepared for every possible scenario so we felt completely covered no matter what happened. Nikki has a commanding presence and a beautiful voice that kept everyone engaged throughout the ceremony, and she made Judaism come alive for our non-Jewish family members in such a meaningful way that several of them said they only want to attend Jewish weddings from now on. Her collaborative approach meant we were true partners in creating something deeply personalized and insightful that reflected who we are as a couple. We're grateful for her guidance and creativity in making our day unforgettable!

If I don't respond quickly, please reach out to Embodied Union Ceremonies on Facebook. Embodied Union Ceremonies offers wedding and vow renewal ceremonies in New York and Puerto Rico. Led by Jillian Stella — a somatic healing guide with years of training in body-based practice and emotional regulation — every ceremony is designed so couples actually feel it while it's happening. The somatic work and the ceremony are one and the same: you arrive grounded, present, and inside the moment before a single word is spoken.

Jillian is truly one of a kind. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail throughout the entire experience was unbelievable. The hour we spent with her changed our entire trip and the things that we learned are going to stay with us for a very, very long time.

It's our professional and personal pleasure to honor you two in your own words and ways, at your wedding at HumorVille. We embrace interfaith and intercultural unions, as well as marriage equality. We are your warm and experienced guides. Jester of the Peace was originally the award-winning wedding officiating business of Rev. Barbara Ann Michaels. Over 10 years and 560+ weddings, she won many wedding industry awards. After pausing through the pandemic years, she has now leaned into her career as an experience designer and opened HumorVille as the only immersive art wedding chapel in New York City, where love and fun are one, with her team.

I figure if you are here reading this, you are busy with a thousand things, planning your wedding. Certainly one of the most important decisions will be to choose the person who will be your officiant--who will perform your ceremony? My wife and I had the honor and pleasure of working with Barbara Ann Michaels (Jester of the Peace) this year. We were married in July and decided upon Barbara after looking at many other options. A friend recommended her services. And WOW! I am so glad we had Barbara! I could list so many accolades: But most important to me was that she immediately bonded with us. We met once in person and then we regularly did our planning via Zoom. She helped us design a wedding ceremony that fit our personalities and style. She supported us through the whole process, being available for questions and tweaks to the planned service. It was to be OUR wedding! The wedding day itself was fabulous! Even before the service, she was there for us, with calming presence. The service itself, by design, allowed for some surprises and lots of spontaneity. We told our love story through a unique interview style. It was filled with joy and laughter along with the desired quiet solemn moments. My wife and I love that we had Barbara as our wedding officiant. She is totally professional and will meet all your wedding service needs! Choose her!
