Led by Jillian Stella — a somatic healing guide with years of training in body-based practice and emotional regulation — every ceremony is designed so couples actually feel it while it's happening. The somatic work and the ceremony are one and the same: you arrive grounded, present, and inside the moment before a single word is spoken.

Most ceremonies are beautiful on the outside and rushed on the inside. Embodied Union Ceremonies is different because the officiant is also a trained somatic healer. That means the pacing, the breath work, the partner co-regulation, and the ritual elements are all intentionally designed to bring your nervous system out of performance mode and into presence — so you're not watching your ceremony happen, you're living it.     Heart-led, curated ceremony

    Jillian is a reliable communicator with a background in trauma-informed somatic coaching and yoga instruction which makes her a wonderful collaborator on BIG feeling, sometimes high stress events. She is someone I feel I could trust with anything, so it just makes sense that her positive attitude, beautiful writing skills, and emotion work combined for a unique wedding experience that makes a couple feel fully seen and uplifted.

    Amazing experience

    We can’t recommend Jillian enough as a wedding officiant. From our very first conversation, she was incredibly thoughtful and took the time to truly get to know us as a couple, which meant so much. We chose to do her full Unfurling package, and it was one of the best decisions we made. One aspect that really stood out was the somatic stress release session before the ceremony. It was something we had never even heard of before, but it made all the difference—it helped us feel grounded, present, and deeply connected in a way we didn’t realize we needed going into the ceremony. The ceremony she created was absolutely beautiful—personal, heartfelt, and perfectly reflective of our story. She also integrated somatic elements into the ceremony itself, which made the experience feel even more intentional and special. So many of our guests commented on how meaningful and unique it was. Jillian is ordained and can legally solemnize marriages in New York and Puerto Rico. Her wedding officiating through Embodied Union Ceremonies is ceremonial — it does not include legal solemnization. A civil ceremony or legal officiant can be arranged separately, and Jillian is happy to help coordinate that if needed.
Somatic means body-based. A somatic ceremony is designed so you actually feel it while it's happening — not just witness it. Rather than managing nerves and hitting cues, you arrive grounded and regulated before a single word is spoken. The breath work, the pacing, the partner practices, and the ritual elements are all intentionally structured to bring your nervous system into presence so the moment can fully land.
Not at all. You don't need any background in somatic practice, meditation, or body-based work. Jillian guides everything — all you need to bring is yourselves.
The structure is similar, but the intention and preparation are tailored differently. Vow renewals tend to carry more history — years of life, growth, and change that deserve to be honored. The ceremony is crafted to hold all of that, not just the celebration. Many couples say their vow renewal felt like the ceremony they wished they'd had the first time.
Yes. Jillian serves couples throughout New York and Puerto Rico. Travel beyond the local area radius will incur a travel fee. Overnight travel requires lodging, which is always discussed transparently before you book.
Jillian works with a small number of couples each season, so early booking is encouraged. Reaching out a few months in advance is ideal, though shorter timelines and last-minute bookings can sometimes be accommodated — don't hesitate to inquire.
It's a dedicated body-based session held in the hours or days before your ceremony. You'll work with breath, co-regulation, and somatic awareness to release nerves, anticipation, or whatever else is present — so you arrive at your ceremony already open and regulated. Couples who do this session consistently say it made their ceremony feel fuller and more real. It's included in The Full Unfurling and available as an add-on to any package.
