I am a licensed wedding officiant with over 8 years of theatre and public speaking experience in crafting ceremonies that are both meaningful and memorable. I am passionate about helping couples create a wedding day that they will cherish forever!

I am a professional actor and use what I learned in acting class: projecting my voice so all your guests can hear, speaking clearly, with diction so everyone understands what is being said, and pausing for dramatic effect. I am also a teacher trainer so I take what I learned as an educator into my practice by learning about each and every one of my couples as best as I can- so that I can deliver a personal customized ceremony.

    Fantastic Officiant

    Mariela is incredible at her craft. When we were first looking for an officiant we were having a hard time finding the right match - someone who felt authentic and aligned with what we were looking for at our micro wedding. From the first email exchange ahead of our intro call to the actual wedding day, everything about working with her was seamless - she is detailed, responsive, anticipatory, and a great listener. On the day of she put everyone at ease - not just us as the bride and groom, but all of our family members involved in the ceremony. Multiple guests commented afterwards that it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies they’ve ever attended. Highly recommend booking her!

    Beautiful, Personal Ceremony

    Mariela made our ceremony so special! She guided us through the whole process, asked all the right questions beforehand, and even included specific details about our relationship that made the ceremony feel even more personal and intimate. I was very glad to have hired a professional instead of just a friend/family member; she really added a sophisticated touch. Highly recommend!

    The Perfect Ceremony on a Perfect Day

    We had such a great experience with Mariela for our small, four-person legal ceremony. She was elegant, articulate, and brought a sense of grace and professionalism that made the day feel even more special. Her services were also reasonably priced, which was a big plus for us. During our phone call, she was very helpful and even offered to help us write our vows ( (we didn’t end up using that service) which was such a kind offer. She was happy to walk us through the process and offered us a bunch of resources like poems and quotes to consider for the ceremony. On the day of, she was punctual, dressed appropriately, and really respectful throughout the whole process. During the ceremony, she had the perfect speaking voice for the occasion and was on point. When I visibly started to get emotional while she was speaking, without missing a beat, she handed me a tissue which was such a thoughtful gesture. You could tell she’s done this a lot and knew exactly what was needed in that moment. Overall, we would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a kind, polished, and accommodating officiant for their big day.

Oh my goodness, let’s just say I’ve lost count somewhere in the 'hundreds and hundreds' range! I’ve officially entered the 'I’ve seen it all' phase of my career, from surprise guests and tear-jerking vows to rings being dropped in the grass (don't worry, we always find them!). While I’ve stopped counting the exact number, I’ve never lost count of the joy, the nerves, and the magic in every single ceremony. Put it this way: I’ve heard 'I do' enough times to know that every couple’s story is still entirely, wonderfully unique!
I personally do not provide this service but can make referrals for people that do.
