My style is natural, vibrant and true to color and I enjoy providing a client experience that is unique, well-planned and most of all, fun! By the time your wedding arrives, my hope is you'll see me as a trusted friend helping you enjoy your day! A lifelong New Yorker, I love combining the creative with the technical and finding the beauty, art and magic in life as well as good food, dancing to 90s jams and my senior rescue cat, Ever.

With a calm and relaxed documentary-style approach rooted in my background as a TV producer, my goal is always to bring out your personality and love story in beautiful images that reflect candidly joyous and connected, intimate moments. I welcome couples of all backgrounds and stand in strong support of the LGTBQIA+ community. Love is love. *While based in NYC, discounted travel applies to those in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area!

    The First (and Best) Vendor You'll Need

    Emily was the first vendor we hired for our wedding, and by FAR the best! She took the time to understand what we were looking for (a multicultural wedding that balanced our customs with our personalities), and not only delivered, but went above and beyond to help us memorialize a celebration we'll never forget. From our first virtual meeting, she made us feel comfortable and in control, which helped us relax (and as you know, wedding planning is anything but relaxing). This reflected in the amazing photos she took at our engagement shoot, as well as our portraits during the ceremony and reception. What Emily does best, though, is beautifully capture the candid moments that no one is posing for. Those are the photos that express the joy, love, and fun everyone had – and the ones we keep looking back at. During the wedding celebrations, she not only acted as a photographer, but also as a backup coordinator/organizer, therapist, and friend. Her focus was solely on us, and made sure we had a great time despite the typical day-of stressors. It’s something my husband and I will forever be grateful for. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer who cares about you, run (don't walk) to Emily. She’s an absolute delight to work with, and you won’t regret it!

    5 Stars isn't enough!

    Emily Louick? More like "Emily You’re-Just-In-L(o)u(i)ck!" From the moment my (at-the-time) fiancée and I met Emily, it felt like a match made in the stars. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and open-mindedness immediately set her apart from the very beginning of our search for the right wedding photographer. We reached out to over ten photographers, and even though it was a weekend, Emily made time to speak with us right away about our vision. Her responsiveness was remarkable and such a breath of fresh air since every message was thoughtful, timely, and filled with genuine excitement for our day. With a tight planning timeline, she worked with us every step of the way, making logistics feel easy and our ideas feel possible. What truly sets Emily apart is how deeply she cares about the people behind the photos. During our initial meeting, she took the time to learn our story, our dynamic, and what mattered most to us. Her inquisitiveness translated into photographs that feel intimate, joyful, and natural. She was also incredibly professional and organized throughout the entire process, which made everything feel seamless and stress-free. On our wedding day, Emily ensured that everyone felt comfortable and at ease under the warm July NYC sun. Even when the Queens Court took longer than expected and our schedule was delayed, we never felt rushed or pressured. Instead, we were reassured by Emily, who made sure we were present and calm in each moment of our special day. Her calm and collected demeanor were contagious and felt by our loved ones. She also beautifully captured the magic of our home borough, Queens. One of our favorite moments was when she was completely open to improvising and joining us for a second round of photos at Flushing Meadows Park after the courthouse. She encouraged us to loosen up with a little ice-breaker, be silly, and have fun, which led to some of our most joyful, and unique photos of the day, including a very NYC moment with Mister Softee ice cream! Her creativity, adaptability, and playful spirit made the entire experience feel effortless and genuinely fun. Emily adapts to what’s in front of her, brings out people’s best naturally, and turns unexpected moments into some of the most beautiful ones. Behind the lens, Emily wasn’t a distant observer, she felt more like a friend celebrating alongside us, genuinely sharing in and capturing our joy. And although her website says “photographer,” she is truly a magician. The quality of the photos exceeded our expectations from the lighting, composition, and emotional depth to the warmth, happiness, and love of that day in every single image. Thanks to Emily, we now have timeless photos that we will treasure for the rest of our lives, and we also gained a friend that we hope to stay in touch with for years to come.     Captured the best day

    She was amazing and the day that we eloped. We had a large session throughout our neighborhood after our ceremony and she was able to capture beautiful moments. I was also very impressed with her professionalism, organization, and planning. She made the photography one less thing that I had to be worried about leading up to my big day.

    Emily is the best!

    Emily is a phenomenal photographer to work with! She met with us more than once to set expectations and what kind of theme we were looking for. She also prepped us before the city hall marriage process, making sure we wouldn’t be flustered with any surprises on our special day. At the beginning, we weren’t sure what kind of themes we wanted, and struggled to tell Emily what we were looking for. We told her aesthetics like “dark academia” and “fantasy” but we weren’t sure what that would look like in practice. But Emily made a moodboard on Pinterest for us and helped us work through photos we’d like and photos we absolutely wouldn’t like! She also came with me a couple days before the shoot to scope out one of our locations, and she thought of great poses and locations to best showcase our relationship and cut down on any decision fatigue the day of. Emily made our wedding day seamless so the only thing we needed to worry about was how happy we were that day. Would definitely recommend!!

    One of a kind photographer

    I had come across Emily while scrolling through Reddit and instantaneously liked how they were recommending her. I sent her an inquiry and got a response within 24 hours and the rest is history! My husband & I got married in December of 2024 and with the assistance of Emily, she made our courthouse wedding a dream. From capturing all our loved ones who came to celebrate our special day to my small intimate family. Words can’t describe how much I recommend her and will be hiring her again for future events! Absolutely! Above all I wish to capture the moments that matter to you, as this is your day and memories, so I want this process to be collaborative. Together we will plan your shotlist, locations, and all creative ideas using image inspiration and moodboards.
always say that being nervous before a shoot is very normal - after all, how often are we exposed to a professional camera? My hope is that through prep calls beforehand and a light and easy (and sometimes humorous!) approach during the shoot that our time together will feel more like hanging with friends, so you forget you’re even being photographed, and just enjoy your time!
I am based in NYC, but I love to travel and would be honored to go wherever you need me to. Please note travel costs may apply. There are no lodging fees for weddings in the Detroit/Ann Arbor, Michigan area.
I offer packages for elopements/City Hall (up to 10 people), intimate weddings (up to 50 people) and full weddings (50+ people). When inquiring, please indicate the size of your party.
Yes! The first payment is a 35% non-refundable retainer to secure your date. The remainder can be paid in one or two installments leading up to your wedding.
Yes, I am fully insured by State Farm and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) if requested. Please allow 4-5 days.
hand select, color correct and edit every single image to ensure quality and adjust as needed to remove any distractions or disruptions in the photos. I will also send a bunch of Black and White copies. Typically I deliver 50-100 images per hour of shooting, but if there’s more to include I take care to do so and deliver all the very best. All images are delivered in a private digital gallery. I deliver a full online digital gallery in 4-6 weeks, plus a sneak peek in 72 hours. Once sent, the link is yours to download and share with friends, family and on social media.
I have a wide network of industry professionals I love to refer from venues and florists to hair and makeup and more, based on your needs. I never receive compensation for referrals - they are just people and places I love and think will be a good fit for you, so don’t hesitate to ask!
