Joliette Marie Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Brooklyn, NY

Hey, I'm Joliette! I recently moved to Westchester, NY with my husband and labradoodle, Basil, after living in Manhattan for the last 8 years. I'm obsessed with dancing, cookies, dogs, and of course, love! I put relationships first, photos second. I want to know your love story, so I can capture your true essence. I'm not just here for the photos, I'm here to make your life easier, however I can! When you see me and my camera, I want you to breathe a sigh of relief, not tense up at the sound of the shutter. That's why I'll help you figure out ALL of the details of your session from start to finish.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Joliette to do our engagement shoot and our civil wedding, and the photos were simply amazing! Joliette made both occasion shoots such an incredible and special experience! Neither my husband or I had ever done a photoshoot before our engagement shoot, and we were worried about the photos not looking organic, but Joliette went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and truly ourselves in order to capture our love and personalities in all the photos! We also got the chance to view the gallery for the first time live with Joliette which was so fun and special, as she was able to see our first reactions and joy in the magic she created for us. The photos came out so amazing, and beyond our expectations, she did such an amazing job, and I can't say enough good things! If you're looking for a photographer for an engagement, wedding, or really any type of photoshoot I HIGHLY recommend Joliette!!

Bailey Quinlan (she/they) is a photographic artist based in Brooklyn, NY working in both film & digital. We are incredibly happy with our wedding photos! Bailey really has "the eye." Her artsy and elegant photos are magazine-worthy and really tell a story. If you're looking for the opposite of cheesy wedding photography, your search ends here. I was already quite certain I was going to book Bailey based on her portfolio alone, but the introductory video phone call sealed the deal. Bailey's warm and friendly personality really puts you at ease, and by the time our wedding day(s) (an elopement and later reception) arrived, it felt like we were having our pictures taken by a dear friend.

Steph Smith Photo
Rating: 5.0 (23 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $5,000

I started learning photography in my high school's darkroom. I was there so much, they gave me my own key so I could come in on weekends. In the mid-aughts, I brought my art kid sensibilities to Brooklyn, and here’s been home ever since. In true New York fashion, I’ve had many jobs— but photography's been my full-time focus for more than a decade. Just me, a concerning number of cameras, and my cat. I'm going to take photos anyway, so some of them should really be of you. While I duly rely on the miracle that is digital, I remain grounded in the discipline of analog. I love incorporating film photography for my clients wherever I can.

Awarded Best of Zola
Steph is a wizard, ninja, and a unicorn all rolled into one. From the minute we reached out to her she immediately made us know we were in good hands. She was clear, communicative, and professional, but every time we talked it still felt like talking to an old friend. (Several of our guests assumed that she WAS an old friend of ours who happened to be a photographer — that’s how warm and chill she is.) Ahead of time she was great about getting details of exactly what we wanted, so that on the big day she just slipped in and out seamlessly without pulling us away from the fun. She was also careful to figure out exactly what we wanted the vibes of the final product to be (candid, colorful, joyful) and she delivered in spades. The finished products are beautiful and were delivered quickly (both the digital copies and the physical prints we ordered). We cannot recommend her highly enough!

Picture-Minded Photography
Rating: 5.0 (7 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,000

Seeing and envisioning the way things will appear photographically for the past 20 years, is a finely tuned skill that I have made into my career.  With every wedding and photoshoot all of my experience with light, composition, and how surroundings and subjects will translate in a photograph is intricately woven into every shot. Weddings are my creative playground combining three of my favorite types of photography into one:  portraiture, lifestyle, and photojournalism.  I love jumping into your day armed and ready to capture the most extraordinary fleeting moments in real time.

It was SO great to have Stephanie (Picture-Minded Photography) photograph the memories from our special day. We really appreciated the questionnaire she had us fill out ahead of time, because this allowed her to know what things we were interested in capturing. Of course, once she arrived, she re-confirmed everything. Honestly, her work on her Instagram spoke for itself and we knew that we could let her have complete artistic freedom with capturing the beauty of the day...so we asked her to go for whatever inspired her. She was very creative with our "details" shots, but also she was great at helping set us up for posing for our stills. She was so calm and, spontaneous with some of the ideas, like when she asked us to take pictures by the water on the way to the Ceremony. She's a great artist with a great eye and on top of that, a friendly and warm person. We can't thank her enough!!!!

Hi there! I’m Daniel Martinez, and I’m thrilled to connect with you! My passion for photography ignited at just 14 years old, and I’ve been dedicated to this creative journey ever since. With a decade of experience in wedding photography, I’ve had the joy of working with fantastic publications like ESPN, PDN, and The New York Times. My goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere, allowing you to fully enjoy your special day while I document the heartfelt connections between you and your loved ones. I’d love to chat!

Daniel came as a referral so I knew he had to be good, but good is underrated. Daniel was AMAZING. He captured my daughter's Sweet 16 photoshoot in Times Square and at the Sugar Factory. Daniel has an eye that captured emotion with the artistic touch iconic pictures are made of, no really. When you think about booking him, ask to see the Sweet 16 shoot in Times Square. Your welcome.

Sarah Bode-Clark Photography
Rating: 5.0 (6 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY

Photos as fun as your party! Your wedding will feel like your dream dinner party turned up to eleven. Great food and drinks, killer music, entertainment…and most importantly: all the people you love gathered around you. As the ultimate hosts, you want your guests to feel comfortable and have an incredible time—and this is exactly how you’ll feel in front of my camera on your wedding day. I’ll quickly put you at ease so you’ll spend the whole day doing the only thing that matters: having the time of your lives.

Hiring Sarah was one of the first and best decisions we made about our wedding! We first found Sarah when we were looking for a photographer for engagement photos, and as soon as the shoot was over we both agreed we wanted her at our wedding as well. Sarah has an exceptionally warm and kind presence which makes the process of posing and taking photos easy and comfortable, and our photos feel like they showcase our authentic personalities. She was a joy to have at our wedding, and several members of our wedding party specifically commented to my wife and I that the process of taking portraits was more fun and easier than they’d experienced at any other wedding. Everyone should hire Sarah, and especially if you’re a person who typically doesn’t like having their picture taken. You are in the best possible hands with Sarah!

I found my passion for art while growing up surrounded by horses in a small town in Brazil. The shapes, textures, and colors of the horses always have been inspiring to me. I’ve always wanted to recreate them, but was never really able to. Honestly, my painting/drawing skills were and still are terrible, and that’s when photography came up in my life. I would create imaginary cameras out of my toys and would ‘photograph’ the horses and my neighbors. Photographing people became my passion and then evolved into my work in editorial and wedding photography.

We cannot say enough amazing things about 98 Wedding Co. ! Gui and Joe went above and beyond in every way, capturing the most stunning, editorial-style photos of us, our family, and our bridal party. The vision we had in our heads of what our wedding photos would look like truly came to life - and then some. The lighting, the perfect use of flash, and their ability to make every shot look like it belongs in Vogue absolutely blew us away. From our first virtual meeting to our engagement photoshoot, to our final walkthrough before the wedding, Gui made us feel so secure throughout the entire process. His patience in answering our questions and ensuring every detail was understood was so appreciated. On the day of, Chris and I felt completely at ease in both Gui and Joe’s direction and guidance, their calm energy and professionalism made all the difference. Thank you, Gui and Joe, for your partnership, attention to detail, and for truly listening to what we were looking for - you absolutely surpassed any expectations we had. Every image feels timeless, artistic, and full of emotion. We’ll treasure these photos forever - thank you for giving us the wedding gallery of our dreams! I cannot recommend this team enough if you’re looking for a seamless, elevated photo and videography experience for your special occasion.

Far Out Feeling
Rating: 5.0 (5 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,200

Meaghan here - I’m the one from which you’ll hear a lot of “Fuck yeah!!!” and “You guys look so hot!” My inspiration comes from our lord and savior, Janis Joplin, and my style is free movement and honesty. Howdy! I'm Brendon, a quiet Mid-Westerner turned East-Coast loud-mouth who happens to have a knack for photography, editing, graphic illustration, and all things creative. My background comes from shooting fashion shows and exclusive events for BFA.com around NYC, which made me appreciate the avant-garde.

We had a terrific experience working with Meaghan and Brendon of “Far Out Feeling.” If you’ve made it this far, you already love their style – their ability to capture both candid and staged photos artfully – and we are happy to report that the photographers have personalities to match. We loved meeting them for drinks months in advance of our wedding, which gave us a nice context for one another when the day finally came (we cannot imagine, now, not knowing our wedding photographers when they arrived to take pictures of us!) We perhaps didn’t consider how crucial this feeling of comfort was, but when you think about, you do spend a tremendous portion of your wedding day with your photographers. Meaghan and Brendon felt like friends, which made even the parts of the wedding that we don’t like (posing!) feel easy, natural, and fun. Meaghan and Brendon were incredibly responsive, from first to last. They always got back to us the day we had a question, and even weeks after our wedding, they were responding to our technical difficulties within minutes. And the photos themselves turned out great! Again, you’ve probably seen evidence of this already. We cannot wait to print them, frame them, and, in all likelihood, post them relentlessly to our Instagram stories. A huge thank you to Meaghan and Brendon, who we recommend whole-heartedly.

A Parisian transplant based in Brooklyn, I fell into with wedding photography very randomly on a New Year's Eve and it was an instant match for me. Since then, I've shot weddings in all sorts of venues from massive mansions to art galleries in New-York, Paris, the French Riviera, Scotland, and Portugal. When I'm not shooting weddings, you'll find me at home with my cat and husband, or travelling across the world. 30 countries and counting!

Carole was great to work with over the course of our engagement shoot and wedding day. She is organized, thoughtful and has great suggestions to get the right kind of photos that will make your day memorable. Love her style and would highly recommend!

When I'm not shooting weddings, I’m a total beach bum. This might sound like an oxymoron coming from a native Montrealer, but I adore the ocean (and very much dislike winter). I swim and surf whenever possible, and I get out to the Rockaways as often as I can. I do a ton of beach photography, including a series about couples at the beach, and I’ve been published a few times, including here and here. If you see me at the beach, come say hi, and let’s have a frozen drink together.

Erica was absolutely the best, we chose her because we liked her style and that her shots looked very natural. As someone who is very uncomfortable in front of the camera, this was important to me, and on the day I felt very relaxed and was able to truly enjoy the moments with my partner while she captured them. She took the time to meet with us months before the wedding to make sure we were comfortable the day of, and captured our day beautifully (while also helping make sure we were organized and didn’t veer too far off schedule!). I highly highly recommend her!
