I'm Karen, a wedding and portrait photographer based in New York City but can travel anywhere! I've been working as a photographer full time for the last 10 years and in that time have managed to photograph over 200 weddings or something like that. I'm from Virginia originally and was always interested in photography and got my first big break at a friend's wedding! I moved to NYC in 2011 and live in Brooklyn with my partner Austin and our two dogs Blanca and Bort. We have a very large record collection and love trying natural wines!

I've been a wedding and event photographer for over 10 years. I've worked with tons of different photographers and types of events over the years and feel comfortable with getting into the story telling of any day and making it unique for you!

Beautiful photos we will cherish
Karen was lovely to work with. We did a fun engagement shoot in Prospect Park. For our wedding we were mostly concerned with the dim venue lighting, and Karen did a fantastic job capturing the warmth and joy of the day. She even pulled us aside for the perfect photo when snow started falling outside! Highly recommend

Excellent, Attentive & Professional Photographer
Karen was great from the beginning. She was recommended to us and we fell in love with her style from pictures on her website; it was just what we were looking for. I loved that we had a few phone calls to discuss our vision and the way she works. She was very organized before, during and after our wedding. Karen was great to work with; she is professional and a sweet person with a great eye.

Beautiful work!
As a professional Floral Designer, I get to meet and work with an abundance of wedding photographers. Karen's work really stands out! After seeing the photos from a recent wedding we worked on together, I cannot recommend her more to couples looking for their photographer. Not only are the images beautifully edited but the moments she has the eye to capture are unexpected treasures! Her work is both personal and professional, two of the most important qualities to look for in a photographer.

The Dreams Coming True
We knew from the beginning that our event was going to have some unique challenges. Outdoors in winter at sunset. Karen came prepared. She had scouted out the venue and knew exactly how to maximize the potential. She saw places we would never have thought to use. Her skill took the challenge of low lighting and turned it into an asset. The photos from start to finish are exquisite. "You look like celebrities!" and "Magical!" are just a few of the compliments we've received. From pre-planning right through the finishing touches on our beautiful album, Karen captured the dreams coming true.

Typically, couples book me anywhere from 6-12 months before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.

Definitely. All final photos will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I do minor edits (blemish, obvious hair strands) in your final edit but anything further does incur an additional fee.

My turnaround time varies by season. If you are local to NYC I love to schedule a viewing party for you to come to my home studio and view all of your photos. If not local most galleries are available in the 4-6 week window. You will also receive a customized USB drive with all of the photos from your wedding.

I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.

You can expect about 80 to 100 images per hour of shooting. But keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

In my 10+ years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to shoot your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted assistant. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.

No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible. I'm happy to recommend other videographers I've worked with in the past.

Depending on the size and complexity of the locations of your wedding I'll have a second photographer or an assistant. If there's a second photographer contracted they are pre-screened and selected by me, 9 times out of 10 I've worked with them before.
