    When You Know, You Know

    People say "when you know, you know" - I say that when it came to picking the person I wanted to marry AND picking our wedding photographer. The second we met Chaz, he immediately made us feel at ease. From our very first Zoom meeting to our engagement photos to the wedding day itself, he made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera, which was no small feat. Looking through our photos, we're amazed by how many moments he captured that we didn't even realize were happening. He blended right into the background while documenting every part of the day beautifully. The photos feel natural, candid, and exactly like our wedding felt. Beyond being incredibly talented, Chaz was just such a calming, easy presence to have around on a day that can feel pretty overwhelming. Honestly, the only downside to booking Chaz is that you only get married once! I wish I could do it all over again just so I could hire Chaz a second time!!

    The best photography team!

    We were looking for a bright, editorial look for our wedding photography, and fell in love with the images we had seen from Chaz Cruz. 

Chaz was incredibly easy to work with - always so prompt in his replies, happy to answer questions, and had an amazingly detailed questionaire for us to fill out ahead of the wedding so that both he and his team knew exactly what we were after. The timeline he provided was also perfect, and left us knowing that our day would go smoothly! Although Chaz himself was not available to shoot our day, we won the lottery when we hired his associate, Celeste. Not only is she a true artist (we just received our huge sneak peek and every image is amazing) but she brought us so much joy. She was so much fun to be around all day, directed our family with such ease, charm, and efficiency during family portraits (what a gift), and was the perfect ‘fly on the wall’ when she needed to be. She is so skilled at capturing not just beautiful portraits, but incredible candid moments. We feel so lucky to have been able to work with both Chaz and Celeste for our wedding at the Wythe and can’t recommend them enough!

    Chaz is a GEM--don't hesitate!

    Chaz is more than just a photographer--he helped my husband with his pocket square, he was attentive and grabbed my purse whenever I needed, he was calm when giving updates on delays, he was a visionary, a comfort, and a professional. His energy is warm, uplifting, and enthusiastic. His work is detail orientated and full of spirit. From our first interview with him to the days following the wedding, he was communicative and caring. I'll never forget the moment of seeing Chaz take photographs of the windy trees during our rehearsal dinner (right before it started pouring rain-the most epic adventure!!) and thinking, "I'm so glad Chaz is here." From the unexpected to the beautiful, I knew he would capture the authenticity of every moment and gosh did he deliver. His work speaks for itself in its aliveness but to experience first hand what it's like to be in front of his lens is truly something special. I felt completely at ease and I know our family and friends did too. What we've seen so far has moved us to tears--he captured our love. The Sunday after our wedding, our friend said to us, "you don't need your wedding photographer to be someone you want to be friends with, but it's pretty cool when it happens." It absolutely is.

The quality of Chaz's work is simply exceptional - he truly captured all of our best moments with skill and artistry. We knew from the first time we saw Chaz's portfolio that we wanted him to photograph our wedding.     Stop Looking and Hire Chaz

    One look at pictures of some of the weddings Chaz has shot and I knew I wanted him as our wedding photographer. He is incredibly talented but I don't need to tell you that, it is obvious the second you look at his work. The venue we were married in is very dark and romantic, but difficult to photograph and Chaz did a beautiful job with every single photo indoors, as well as the ones outside in the blazing sun. Chaz is simply awesome to be around, he has such a chill friendly vibe he seamlessly blended in with our families and wedding parties. Chaz gave the direction needed to capture all the staged photos we asked for, but we never felt like Chaz was "in our faces" like at many weddings I've been in when photographers are literally screaming directions at you. The most meaningful of all was the candid moment photos. Some of the moments I didn't even realize were happening as a "moment" while they were happening- but Chaz literally got all of these too. It was really special to look back at the day of and see these moments captured forever. Chaz made an effort to get to know us before the wedding, and helped us as a couple get out of our comfort zone and capture amazing shots of us without making it feel awkward. Chaz is amazing, we cannot recommend him enough.. your wedding will be in good hands if you hire Chaz and you will LOVE your photos!!

Typically, couples book me about a year before their wedding date. I encourage you to reach out as soon as possible about my availability, even if you’re planning on a shorter time frame.
Our base coverages are for 1 photographer only, you can add on an additional photographer at any time. We do bring assistants along, usually when we are shooting film.
In my 15+ years of experience as a wedding photographer, I’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that I’m unable to shoot your wedding, I’ll make sure you’re covered by one of my colleagues or my contracted associated photograpehrs. I’ll also provide you with a list of photographers from the many networking groups I’m in, so you can find the perfect replacement.
