We had the best experience for our wedding photos. From the moment I first spoke with Frank I knew this was going to be a smooth and easy process. Irene and Min were such a pleasure to work with the day of our wedding. Being 9 months pregnant, they were very mindful and compassionate to my needs. They captured the best moments throughout the night. The delivery of our photos was much quicker than I expected and as I looked through all the pictures I was able to relive that moment in time. Thank you again for capturing our magical day. I highly recommend NJ Wedding Studio!

We are a married couple of photographers. Within years of career, we discovered what’s really matters - we want to make people happy. Weddings have it all: new interesting people, touching stories, warm family relationships, tears. A lot of tears! Oh, don’t forget dances and sparklers! It make you think, move and react quickly in constantly changing surrounding. We have no room for mistakes. So It’s never boring! 🙂

Hi! I’m Justin (he/him) and I’m here to affirm your love, make you feel like a fucking rockstar, and dance like a total fool. Oh, and take so many gorgeous photos of y’all. Obvs. My style blends both documentary photojournalism and fine art photography: coaching folks who are shy in front of the camera, then stepping back to capture authentic moments uninterrupted. I’ve been lucky enough to have my work published by A Practical Wedding, The New York Times, GLAMOUR, People Magazine and many other fabulous outlets. I'm a stereotypical Capricorn that loves drag shows, campy horror films, every dog I meet, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Justin is a fantastic photographer, but more importantly, he's really fun to work with. He's expert at posing and making his subjects feel fantastic! I'm a fellow wedding photographer and have worked with him on numerous occasions; he also took my maternity photos when I was 41 weeks pregnant - and made me feel beautiful!

I'm in love with human emotions, either it's laughing till it hurts or tears of happiness. When your man hugs you so strong, that you can't breathe or when your dad is crying (for the first time in his life!) listening to your vows at the altar. I do believe, that these un-staged moments are more meaningful than classy portraits on a sunset (but no worries, you'll plenty of both!) If you feel like we are on the same page - let's talk! Write me a few words about who you are, tell me your story and let's create something beautiful together!

Awarded Best of Zola
Loved working with Dasha. She was extremely organized and prepared. We met over zoom first to discuss her process and she oriented me well to expectations, she helped me think through the days plan. On the day of she was prompt, flexible, positive. I had a DIY style wedding and there were a lot of moving pieces but Dasha kept up and was so sweet along the way. My fiancé was not super into pictures ever, but she helped us through his awkwardness with it and the pictures looked amazing. I’m so happy with the final pictures I could not recommend her more. Dasha is a consummate professional. I highly, highly recommend her. In a sea of what was many little fires on my wedding day I was able to rely on her. Now that the wedding is done I’m very grateful for the beautiful photos.

I live in New York City and Northwest CT with my wife and our two rescue dogs. I am a commercial lifestyle and wedding photographer. My creative journey began when I spent a decade touring the country with my indie rock band, The Booda Velvets. While on tour I was always taking photos with my dad’s old Pentax film camera and a Polaroid SX70. During this time, my passion for documentary style photography was born and after touring I traded the guitar for the camera and haven’t looked back.

Adam delivered a comprehensive selection of photos to us that really captured the energy of our wedding. He was attentive and made sure we got all the posed photos we wanted, but during the party portion was unobtrusive and able to melt into the atmosphere to capture some amazing candids. He is a very pleasant and organized person as well - with plenty of experience - so he was able also to guide us in some important decision making. This is a photographer you can trust! We are Roge and Fernando and we want you to know some things about us. We passionately and creatively document love stories. (It feels so cheesy when I see it written, but it’s true.) And we want you to understand that there are no second chances to get it right, and that we are obsessed with getting it right. This is your wedding, our work will tell your story forever, and we don’t take that lightly. At all.

This husband and wife duo is the real deal! I have been in 15+ wedding in my life I've seen just about everything. They absolutely exceeded every expectation. The pictures are just on another level. Their ability to efficiently pose large groups is the best I've ever seen. I seen other photographers waste so much time trying to do this but they nailed it in no time at all. The intimate photos getting ready before the ceremony look like they belong in a fashion magazine. They literally got better and better as the night went on. Our reception was action packed, my wife and I danced a good 75% of the time and every time I looked up from the fun they were there capturing all the genuine happy moments with friends and family. The candid photos are so good , looking through the mountain of photos they gave us feels like living my wedding night over every time. Not to mention they gave us like 100 pictures the day after that we shared immediately on social media. Then gave all the rest to us 1 month after the wedding. I can not recommend them enough... for what they gave me I honestly feel like they should have charged me double.

I have sent him to several friends of mine for weddings and family photos, and he always gets the shot while making the families feel at ease. You'll love his clear communication and speedy delivery.

My studio represents six award winning principal photographers each with an amazing editorial and photojournalistic eye. They've been shooting with me from 6 to 14 years and are exceptional experts in their fields. That's why I choose them, trained them and that's why they stick with the studio.

We cannot recommend Kang and Brian Dorsey Studios enough! Kang did an engagement photo shoot for us as well as our wedding photos and was so kind and patient throughout the entire process. He made us feel very comfortable being ourselves in front of the camera. We told Kang that we wanted to just have moments captured rather than manufactured and he did a beautiful job getting amazing shots without us feeling like we were having to do forced poses the entire time. On top of that, the quality of the photos was absolutely incredible. Kang was punctual, professional, and truly went the extra mile to make sure we got all of the shots that were important to us on such a special day. Thanks to Kang and the entire Brian Dorsey Studio teams we have a wide array of timeless, beautiful photos to choose from.

Laura is wonderful to work with! Laura's style of photography is what had originally drawn us to her; her ability to capture candid moments and how she always seems to get the perfect lighting! The photos she took completely captured the overall warm and loving vibe of our wedding. She must be some sort of magician... or just the best possible wedding photographer... Booking her was easy. She was easy to get in touch with and was always prompt to respond. I'm glad we booked her early to lock in our date. She is a very popular photographer and she books up fast! We met Laura before our wedding to go over the details of the venue and timeline of the night. She is a pro so she can make any venue, even the warehouse we booked, look bright and not dark and dingy. Day of, Laura came happy and ready to shoot. Our portraits with parents and the bridal party were not only beautiful, taken in a field, but also super fun! Laura knows how to make you feel good about yourself when she's shooting you! She was also making jokes which helped make us all comfortable. The ceremony and reception pictures were just breathtaking! She captured how funny our officiant was, our special "I do" moment and of course our first kiss as husband and wife! During our reception, we had circus performers lead the guests in hula hooping and juggling... Laura was able to get some amazing action shots on the fly! Overall, Laura is the absolute best. She was the perfect photographer for our special day and I cannot imagine having someone else in her place! She is so talented, sweet, punctual and professional; all things you want and need in a photographer! We love her and will be hiring her in the future for family portraits!

As my Instagram bio says, I'm a country girl by birth, a city girl by choice and a photographer by obsession. I grew up on a farm in a small Midwestern town, but have lived in New York City for over 25 years. As a photographer I say I'm self-taught, but in reality I've had the benefit of amazing mentors and teachers along the way who helped me elevate my work and pursue joy along with results. When not making photos or hanging out with my husband and kids, you can find me with a book in hand or listening to music while indulging my love of textiles at my sewing machine (yes, I really own a sewing machine)! Oh, or dancing! :-)

"I work with a lot of vendors in the course of a wedding season and the ones that stand out are those who bring a positive energy and camaraderie to their work. Amy Milstein is exactly that type of person. Not only is she a great photographer, but she's fun to work with and I've noticed that the couples feel very calm and comfortable with her, which is so important! I'd definitely recommend her to any couple looking for a great documentary style photographer. "

Yet somehow Grace got amazing shots of us! So happy with the results, not to mention Grace is a pleasure to work with. Thanks Grace!

“Photography takes a moment out of life…and holds it still” A small collection of photographers who strive to capture the emotion and energy of life’s significant moments in a sophisticated yet understated light hearted way.

My husband and I cannot thank Hechler Photographers enough for everything. It was such a joy shooting with Julio for our engagement shoot in downtown Manhattan and our Rehearsal Dinner at the Union League Club in NYC, and we loved shooting with Julio, David, and John (the videographer) on our wedding day that took place on May 18, 2024 at the Metropolitan Club in NYC. From the moment we met David (recommended by our amazing planner, Jeff Stillwell of Stillwell Events), we knew it was a wonderful match. David is extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and an amazing listener. When David referenced notes from our very first conversation a year and a half later (just a little under a month from our wedding), I was beyond impressed and truly touched. We greatly appreciate how David, Julio, and John were all able to quickly respond in the moment and pivot as needed, whether it was to ensure my hair could be touched up to stay perfectly in place or that we could have time to relax before key moments (e.g., the ceremony). As an incredibly detail-oriented bride, I am so grateful for all the attention to detail that was demonstrated from the beginning of our wedding day to the end of the evening. David, Julio, and John managed to strike the perfect balance of making their presence known, while blending in perfectly (one of my friends had commented that most photographers & videographers she had seen at weddings were so loud and even disruptive). Not this team!!!! I will also be forever grateful for all the encouragement and helpful tips and pointers/direction that David and Julio provided throughout Friday and Saturday to make sure that everyone looked and felt their best while remaining confident in being themselves. I still have Julio’s voice in my head saying, “Work it!” I am so grateful that David and Julio were able to capture all the photos and videos on my extensive shot list, and then some!! My husband, our families, and I cannot wait to see these photos and videos - if the engagement shoot photos are any indication of what's to come, these photos and videos are going to be absolutely magnificent. David, Arthur, Julio, and Casey, thank you for everything! It has been such a pleasure working with you all. This past weekend felt like heaven on earth, and I’m so glad we chose you all to capture these memories we will cherish forever and ever. -Nicole & Kyle May 18, 2024

In the 1950s & 60s, The Bronx was home to an amazing photographer that captured weddings and family events. His name? Warren Meurer aka the “Silverfox” (due to his flowing silver and gray locks). Fast forward to the early 1990s, Warren’s grandson, John Salkowsky, decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and open a wedding photography and video studio. When it came time to name this newly formed company, there was only ONE name it could possibly have – Silverfox Studios.

I have been working with Silver Fox Studios for more than 10 years. John and his team are professional, courteous, honorable and kind aside from being great photographers. It is a pleasure to work with the Silver Fox, they always go the extra mile for their clients and always work seamlessly with my team.

On most weekends you can find me, Robert ('Bobby'), photographing weddings—either in New York (where I lives) or farther a field: in various locations around the US and abroad. I find wedding ceremonies to be more than just a series of actions, people, and images to be “captured,” but rather recognizes them as events full of deep personal and cultural significance, particular to a specific time and place and community. As such, I assumes the responsibility of documenting these moments with great respect, believing them to be deserving of a discerning eye and an artistic hand.

We had the pleasure of meeting Bobby a few years ago when my sister got married. When we got engaged, he was the first vendor that we booked. Bobby is an incredibly professional and passionate photographer. His work captures every emotion of the day. What we love the most about Bobby is his calm demeanor and that he blends in with the crowd. He is really flexible and is willing to accommodate all needs. We are currently in the process of making our wedding album and it’s hard to choose the photos, as every one is better than the next. We are forever grateful to Bobby for capturing our special day.

I’m into spending all my time at a beach every chance I get, having my nose stuck in a book and if there were no biological consequences, I’d be eating chocolate and drinking tequila all day. I’m half Indian and half Chinese and multilingual (I speak Bahasa, Cantonese, Mandarin and Japanese). I was born and raised in Malaysia, did a little stint in Japan, attended law school and landed New York City.

The key to our service is investing in making your wedding day experience great. With this service in mind, we can create beautiful visual storytelling that is singular for you. Our name, Ein photo , embodies that mission. Eins (pronounced [aɪ̯ns]) means one in German, so Ein Photo means one photo. One has many meanings to it, the first, the best, but we look at it as the only one. One couple, with one story, told by one series of photos.

We met with several photographers and knew we wanted Tim and his team to be our photographer after our first meeting. My husband and I both don't really like having our pictures taken and thought our engagement photoshoot session was going to be filled with uncomfortable awkward poses and smiles. We were so wrong! Tim made us feel comfortable and easily directed us when needed. It ended up being a really fun hour and we loved how natural we looked in all of our pictures! For our wedding, Tim and his team arrived on time and captured all of our key moments. They were so efficient and easy to work with the entire day (and throughout this entire process)! I wasn't stressed at all and we LOVE how all of our pictures came out! Thank you SOO much Tim and Joseph! Ein Photography is the BEST and a must for your wedding day!!

The world is my oyster, or at least I think it is. I was born in New York, raised in Belgium, and am constantly on the move traveling around the world. I use a blend of photojournalism and modern editorial pictures to ensure I capture a couple’s true connection. Furthermore, I believe that knowing a couple’s story helps me tell it, so fill me in on everything, from how you met to your favorite burger spot.

Working with Louis was such a blessing!! He is so talented, warm, kind, and easy to work with. He made sure everyone was feeling comfortable during the photo shoots, made everyone laugh so much, and provided the most helpful guidance during the poses. We are thrilled with the outcome (and all of guests are too!!). The photos reflect all the energy and emotions of the day. We are so grateful to have found Louis, thank you!! ♥️

It’s a pretty cool/weird thing when your hobby becomes your job, so I feel like I am still working on being a more well rounded human hobby-wise. I love hiking with my pup Tucker, bringing my hammock to the park with a good book, finding cool events happening in the city, making homemade milkshakes(you haven’t lived until you’ve made a pb&j milkshake with chocolate sauce. Stop reading and go do that now, you’ll thank me later), oh and watching way too much TV! It’s the golden age of television, so how can you not.

When I first searched for wedding photographers based in Philly and stumbled onto Heather's instagram page, I knew that I wanted to work with her for my wedding! I spoke with Heather before I knew what type of wedding I wanted to do and she told us about Wedding Wednesdays in LOVE park. We're so grateful to have worked with Heather on our wedding day, and I can't recommend her enough for eloping couples who want documentary-style photography. I love the previews she sent us and can't wait to see the full album soon!

I’m Alyssa! My job is to capture the intimacy and beauty of love in all its forms, which basically means it's the coolest job. Telling real stories in beautiful ways is my jam! That is how I became a wedding and portrait photographer. I also happen to be a lover of both dogs and baked goods and I love to see the world. As an artist, I am drawn to rich, bold images. I love to play with light, and moreover I love to play, period. I catch your most captivating and authentic images by working from a place of joy and genuine happiness in what I do.

Running a historic site with acres of gardens often makes you nervous that a vendor will come in and trample on flowers or not respect the property. Enter Alyssa...she could not be more professional and respectful of our site. That aside, she is an AMAZING photographer. I love to showcase her photos on our site, social media, you name it. She captures so much emotion on wedding day and her editing style is true to color, which is super important when showing photos to potential couples. Her photos make you almost feel like you were there. I couldn't recommend her more!

I believe photography is a snapshot of life, where a feeling is captured and magically stored in a timeless memory, a memory that can bring you back to that same instant, the excitement of a moment and cherish the tangible feeling of a photograph. I was born in Ecuador where I spent my childhood surrounded by the unconditional love of my abuelita, she now resides in heaven. I was always independent and silly in front of a camera. I wasn’t too much into playing with a camera and preferred to play in the garden, running around, catching butterflies and always excited to find a ladybug, aren’t they so pretty?

The communion of you and your love isn't just about exchanging rings. It's about filling your heart with the smile of the other, having to pour out tears without knowing the reason why. It's about understanding the language that the eyes speak. We celebrate the day we commit to sharing the tears of joy and sadness, and all the special moments in life, by saying 'I do'. We celebrate with the people, who have prepared us each step of the way, whether emotionally, intellectually or physically, for this very moment.

Hey there!! My name is Marilyn and I'm so glad you're here ♡ I am a couples + wedding photographer based in New York City, and happy to travel to wherever your day is at! I've had pink hair for the last 6 years so at this point it has become a personality trait and I'm 100% okay with it. I love the outdoors, pat every dog I can, and thrive on ben and jerry's. My ideal place to be would likely be frolicking in wildflowers in a dress that's way too long, but the longer the better. The patio of my NYC apartment with a good book is a close second favorite though, for sure.

Awarded Best of Zola
Marilyn was the first vendor we booked for our wedding, and we're so glad we did! From the very beginning of our communication, Marilyn always made us feel at ease and seemed just as excited about our wedding day as we were. Working with her on the day was an absolute dream. She made both of us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and also made sure to capture all of the shots we spoke about beforehand that we really wanted. And we can't gush enough about how gorgeous all of the photos turned out! She did such a great job of capturing through images exactly how we felt on our wedding day, which was joyful and full of love. Trust me and just book Marilyn--you won't regret it!

With my whole heart, I unapologetically embrace inclusivity & all forms of love.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are incredibly happy with our wedding photos! Bailey really has "the eye." Her artsy and elegant photos are magazine-worthy and really tell a story. If you're looking for the opposite of cheesy wedding photography, your search ends here. I was already quite certain I was going to book Bailey based on her portfolio alone, but the introductory video phone call sealed the deal. Bailey's warm and friendly personality really puts you at ease, and by the time our wedding day(s) (an elopement and later reception) arrived, it felt like we were having our pictures taken by a dear friend.

In the 20 years that I've been photographing professionally, I’ve honed my skill of knowing when to step in and make things happen, and when to step back and simply *allow* things to happen. Documenting the REAL emotion of the day is how we capture those picture-perfect moments. They happen organically, not by force, and I promise you: we're not going to miss ANY of them. = )

Awarded Best of Zola
Christopher is an incredible human being who takes absolutely stunning photography. From our first point of contact to our last, he was extremely professional, punctual, and kind. His excellent communication with clients is seamless and streamlined from the start making him a partner you can rely on. Christopher beautifully captured the essence of our wedding and went above and beyond with us and our guests to ensure every moment was accounted for and that everyone felt and looked great! We were blown away with his attention to detail and ability to be present on our big day but not get in the way of small intimate moments. I would highly recommend Christopher - excellent product for value, priceless relationships with local vendors, and a very talented photographer.

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

We hired Cesario to photograph our mostly DIY wedding, and he was a blast to work with! From finding a ton of cool shots to show off our unique venue to meticulously documenting the work our families put into decorating, he did everything we asked and more. After the ceremony and the staged photos Cesario fit right into the party, and got some amazing photos from the dance floor. The creativity and style he puts into his work cannot be overstated, and he delivered some photos we will treasure for many years!

Thalia shot my wedding just a few months ago and I highly recommend her for other couples looking to commemorate their wedding. She spoke with us before the wedding to get to know us and understand what style of photos we wanted. When the day finally came, we didn't have to worry about documenting anything because Thalia knew exactly what we wanted. She was cool as a cucumber all night and didn't need any directions despite the difficult circumstances(torrents of rain at an outdoor wedding!) My favorite part of working with Thalia, other than the wonderful photos, was how easy it was to work with her. Weddings are stressful endeavors but you'd never know it from the pictures Thalia took for us. Everyone having the time of their lives, just the way it should be.

I believe that your images should look and feel exactly like you, as if you stepped out of your photographs into real life. My style is natural, vibrant and true to color and I enjoy providing a client experience that is unique, well-planned and most of all, fun! By the time your wedding arrives, my hope is you'll see me as a trusted friend helping you enjoy your day! A lifelong New Yorker, I love combining the creative with the technical and finding the beauty, art and magic in life as well as good food, dancing to 90s jams and my senior rescue cat, Ever.

Awarded Best of Zola
My husband and I worked with Emily for our engagement shoot last summer and had an exceptional experience. There are a couple key things that contributed to it being such a success that I wanted to call out about working with her. 1. Ease and comfortability. I don't like getting my photo taken and I often feel awkward in front of the camera. Emily's SO talented at being able to distract you from a lens being pointed at you, and making the time fly and session loads of fun. If you tend to get nervous around a camera, this type of professionalism and ability to calm exactly what you need. 2. Flexibility and imagination. Our session was at and around Domino Park, which gave us a lot of options for shots. We asked for certain shots to be done, which we did, but then Emily suggested all these other ideas that were inspired by our look and vibe, and some of them turned out to be our favorites! We really appreciated that imagination and creativity. Overall, I'd recommend working with Emily in a heartbeat.

I'm Chrysa- a self-taught photographer since 2014. My entire life I've always been in love with taking pictures. Whether it was using a Polaroid as a kid, bringing the ole digital point & shoot along to the bars in college (until I dropped it in a vodka RedBull - RIP) or finally growing up & buying my first big girl DSLR in my early 20s, I have always had a flare for anything creative. I'm sure my parents wished I had a flare for performing heart surgery but here we are... I love travel & all things adventure/outdoors (Want to climb a mountain to elope? I'm your girl. Want to exchange vows in a National Park? I've been to 29, count me in).

Awarded Best of Zola
My fiancé and I were a little nervous leading up to having our engagement photos taken because we didn’t know what to expect. Chrysa made us feel SO comfortable in the first few minutes. We felt like we were the only people on the planet. But to say Chrysa is amazing would be an understatement. I mean, she hiked up a mountain for us. All in all, her work is breathtaking and I would recommend her a thousand times over!

About wedding photographers in New York, NY

How much does a wedding photographer typically cost in New York, NY?

A New York, NY wedding photographer ranges from $400 to $20,000 and averages at $3,000. The cost reflects the number of hours included, if there is a second photographer, any prints or albums, and, most importantly, the experience of the photographer. But every snapshot they take is a priceless memory of your big day — way better than your bestie's blurry smartphone pics, right?

Do most photographers include a second photographer?

94% of photographers in New York, NY offer a second photographer, although it typically depends on the package you book! Second photographers are helpful because one person can’t be everywhere at once, and the second photographer ensures all the details are covered.

Which are the most popular photographers in New York, NY?

Some of the most popular photographers in this area include The Pros Weddings, SweetEmms Photography and Ashley Cynthia Photography.

What else should I keep in mind when booking a wedding photographer?

Are you interested in an engagement shoot as a test run? Drone photography? Wedding albums? All helpful things to ask about when you’re considering which wedding photographer to book!

What questions should I ask a wedding photographer in NYC?

It can be hard to know exactly what you should be looking for when you’re first exploring wedding photographers. You might want to ask questions like, "How do you capture the essence of 'us'?" or "How do you balance capturing our must have shot list without missing out on unexpected candid moments?" Don't forget the nitty-gritty, either. Inquire about their portfolio, if they've shot at your venue before, and how they navigate New York City’s unpredictable elements (because who hasn't seen a taxi photobomb?). Check out our full list of questions to ask your wedding photographer for even more info.

How long does it take to receive wedding photos in NYC?

Picture this: you've said your vows, had the time of your life at the reception, and now you're back from your honeymoon, eager to relive it all through your photos. But you might need to wait a minute, because good things take time! Most NYC wedding photographers will ask for a 4 to 8-week grace period to finalize your photos. They're carefully sifting through the raw emotions and dance-floor shenanigans to deliver a gallery that's as epic as your love story. We know how eager you are to relive those moments, but your stunning snaps will be worth the wait.

How many images are typically included in a wedding photo package?

Wedding photo packages in NYC are as varied as the city itself, but on average, you might see anything from 300 to 700 finished photos. But hey, it’s not just about quantity, it’s the heart-stopping, tear-jerking quality that counts. Make sure to chat with your photographer about what's important to you – maybe it's those candid laughs during the toast or that magical first dance. So, whether you’re aiming for a minimalist album or an epic visual novella of your day, rest assured you'll have enough photos to keep your memories fresh and your heart full!

Are engagement sessions typically included in wedding photography packages in New York City?

Looking for a photographer to capture the excitement of your engagement, too? Look no further. Many New York wedding photographers bundle engagement photo sessionsinto your wedding package, or will add them on at a reduced rate. It's like a romantic pre-game show where you and your SO can get over some of the camera-shyness. Plus, it's a fantastic way to test the waters with your photographer before the big day so you can make sure they’re a perfect fit (and to capture some great shots for your save the dates!).
