This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

Adventure travel, hiking, eating street food in foreign cities, and scuba diving are activities that describe me well. I'd take an adventure outside over a gym any day. When I'm not photographing (my full-time job) or traveling, I'm likely cooking, eating, or camping. Whether you’re a fellow outdoors-lover or something else entirely, I’ll take the time to get to know your unique interests and personalities, and will create tailored, scroll-stopping images with my innovative techniques.     Excellent Photographer!

    Amazing photographer! We had our other photographer cancel last minute and she stepped right in! She is very experienced and was a pleasure to have on my wedding day. A little on the pricier side but very worth it!

    Spectacular

    If you are looking for a photographer who will go above and beyond, you need to hire Kathryn! This woman did literally anything and everything to get the perfect shot. From crouching in the foliage to climbing on hotel chairs, she let nothing stop her - not even a wardrobe malfunction! Neither of us usually feels comfortable having our photo taken, but Kathryn was so comforting and made us feel genuinely at ease. She turned what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into a remarkably enjoyable process. Her eye for photography is beautifully creative. Not only did she bring props to enhance our pictures, but she was also completely down for any and all ideas we had! She also brought along a second photographer, Tara, who matched the lively, stress-free vibe seamlessly. We have only received our preview photos so far, but we are already completely blown away. We felt so honored to be chosen as one of her few clients for the year, and we cannot wait for the final gallery! Kathryn is a wonderful human being and a terrific photographer. We cannot recommend her skills highly enough!

    Always An Amazing Experience!

    Kathryn has been a friend of mine for 20 years, so I've been following her growing business and incredible adventures around the globe for a long time. When I got engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted to do our engagement and wedding photos! Not only is she fantastic to work with, she loves opportunities for creativity and "outside the box" moments. I loved the idea of playing with light at night, so she found a color-changing light device to create incredible backgrounds for our night photos! I also loved that we hardly knew she and her second were there during the ceremony. She's sneaky and still gets the most beautiful photos! I cannot recommend my beautiful friend enough, especially if you're looking for someone LGBTQ friendly!     Best Wedding Photographer ever!

    We are so happy with how our wedding photos came out. Kathryn was wonderful to work with. She is professional and organized, and takes amazing photos. We spoke multiple times before our wedding day so that she could capture exactly what we wanted. We developed a timeline of when we'd take different photos throughout the day, and she was able to adjust accordingly. Originally we planned to take sunset photos around 8 PM. However, my husband and I were having so much fun on the dance floor that we forgot entirely. Kathryn reminded us, but she recommended that we stay on the dance floor and enjoy our time with the band and our guests. I'm so happy she encouraged us to keep having fun, and to not leave the party for a few photos. She captured our favorite moments and I'm so happy we choose her as our photographer. We wholeheartedly recommend her to any couple looking for a photographer who genuinely cares and delivers stunning work.

    Our best decision!

    We were so lucky to have found Kathryn for our wedding. As a photographer, Kathryn is an artist. She has incredible talent, creative ideas, and delivers stunning results. As a person, Kathryn is simply a joy. She is warm, easygoing, and fun. She made the process so easy from start to finish and we actually miss getting to chat with her! We are a same-sex, interfaith couple, and came to the table with family drama, a crazy dog, and a mashing of cultures. Kathryn didn't bat an eyelash. She has a true inclusive spirit, and that continues to mean a lot to us. If you want to be able to relive your special day with profound joy for years to come, just choose Kathryn! I book up to 16 months out, but often have couples reach out to me just a few months before their elopement or wedding. I photograph many destination weddings and am away for weeks at a time, so reach out as early as possible to make sure I'm available!
I do! Just let me know if your venue requires a certificate of liability, and I’ll send that over to them.
I work solo for smaller weddings, and for larger celebrations, have either an assistant or second photographer to capture all the extra moments. I also have an officiant if you are looking to elope somewhere more remote! All of my options are listed in my packages, which I'll send once you inquire.
Absolutely! I take a mix of standard and unconventional photos, with posed, candid, and group shots. I'll capture all the details--your rings, invites, flowers, and more--and capture tons of moments you may have missed. I'll work on creating a few special images, tailored to you two, your venue, and your interests as well! You just get to relax and enjoy your day.
I can almost guarantee I'm more awkward then y'all, so I know how to make you feel comfortable! Instead of "posing" you, we'll chat (often about travel, or cooking, or funny moments), and I'll capture candids of you while suggesting a few different locations and ideas. It ends up being lots of fun (seriously), and as a result, your photos will reflect YOU, and not repeat pose.
Absolutely! I always bring a special set of photo tools to help make your photos stand out, so whether you're getting married in your backyard or at a rustic venue, I'll make it work. After I learn what you love to do and where you're getting married, I'll come up with some unique ideas to make for some uber-fun and unique photos throughout your day!
