As my Instagram bio says, I'm a country girl by birth, a city girl by choice and a photographer by obsession. I grew up on a farm in a small Midwestern town, but have lived in New York City for over 25 years. As a photographer I say I'm self-taught, but in reality I've had the benefit of amazing mentors and teachers along the way who helped me elevate my work and pursue joy along with results. When not making photos or hanging out with my husband and kids, you can find me with a book in hand or listening to music while indulging my love of textiles at my sewing machine (yes, I really own a sewing machine)! Oh, or dancing! :-)

I'm a true documentary wedding photographer. I don't work with shot lists, and won't spend hours on posed images. Instead, I capture the day as it happens, including the details and the dress along the way. The comment I get the most was that I was a relaxing, calming presence on what can be a stressful day. That, and that by the end of the day I felt more like a friend with a camera than a hired vendor. Two of the best compliments I could possibly get!
