    Disappointing Experience and Unexpected Extra Fees

    I’m giving Eivan’s Photo and Video two stars because, although many of our final photos turned out well, the overall experience was disappointing. Before we booked, the company was extremely communicative and followed up with us consistently. Unfortunately, that level of communication and care changed after we signed the contract. Several important policies and additional charges were not clearly explained to us before booking. We got married on June 13, and our edited photos became available several weeks later. However, even though the photos were already edited and ready, we were told that we could not download them until October unless we paid an additional fee of approximately 400. This was extremely frustrating. We had already paid for photography and videography services, so we did not understand why we could view our finished photos but could not download them without paying more or waiting several months. This policy should have been clearly disclosed before we booked. We were also disappointed with the videography. We paid for approximately six hours of video coverage and expected to receive a complete recording or, at the very least, a thorough final video. Instead, we received a video of only about 50 minutes, with the company choosing which portions to include. Many moments felt abruptly cut, and some of the dance footage was framed only from the knees up, so the actual dancing and footwork could not be seen. When we requested the full footage so that we could have it edited ourselves, we were told it would not be provided without another substantial payment of approximately 1,600. We did not realize before booking that receiving more complete footage would involve such a large additional charge. The photography experience on the wedding day was also disappointing. The photographer arrived well before our 4:00 p.m. ceremony, but I did not receive the getting-ready photos I had hoped for with my mother and friends. I had to ask the photographer to take individual photos of me, and my fiancé also had to ask for individual photos of himself. These are important wedding-day moments that we expected an experienced photographer to recognize and capture without needing repeated reminders. To be fair, many of the completed photos were good, which is why I am giving two stars rather than one. However, the lack of transparency regarding delivery timelines, download restrictions, limited video footage, additional fees, and the overall lack of attentiveness made the experience very disappointing. Based on my experience, I would not hire Eivan’s Photo and Video again. I strongly recommend that future couples carefully review every detail of the contract and ask specifically about photo-download dates, access to full or raw video footage, the length of the final edited video, and every possible additional charge before signing.

    Great Photography!
