About Gemini Sun Creative

Gemini Sun Creative

Photographer

Gemini Sun Creative is an intimate wedding and elopement photographer serving Northern California, NYC, Upstate NY & Philadelphia. Owner, Daniela Monzi, specializes in elopement and intimate wedding photography. With each couple she works with, she strives to show off the unique traits of their love story in every photo. Her passion for her work is most deeply connected to the process of telling people’s stories through photographs. Most of Daniela's work centers around the human experience, our shared existence, and the quest for revealing the truest form of each person that she documents.

While my photography journey began as a young child, I honed my craft more thoroughly at the San Francisco Art Institute, receiving a BFA in 2017. I was fortunate to study with and among leading artists and artistic minds. I bring this experience and perspective to each and every shoot. I have always marched to the beat of my own drum (hi, enneagram 4w5 here). My heart lies with storytelling and creating art. It was when I started photographing intimate weddings and planning my own elopement, that I felt the same twinge of sparkles in my stomach that I get when I am creating my fine art, that I knew this was something I was called to do.

We are so lucky and grateful to have had Dani as our photographer for our engagement shoot, rehearsal dinner, and wedding. Planning our wedding was a ton of work and Dani made the photography part a breeze. She was very organized, has a great website, and it was clear from the start what was included in the package we selected. Dani instantly made us feel comfortable in front of the camera because of her welcoming and warm personality. Most important she is an extremely talented photographer and we trusted her expertise. Our album is stunning and are so grateful to have such amazing photos to remember our wedding day.

Dani brought her expertise in small and intimate elopements to my wedding day. It was a summer camp wedding with lots of family and friends, and Dani’s energy helped ground us and regulate all the craziness. We had many talks before the big day to fully discuss our vision for time flow, specific shots, and how we wanted to feel. Dani was able to channel all the positive vibes for the big day, and the photos are so so beautiful and really capture everything.

We cannot recommend Dani enough! We have worked with her on a few occasions and knew from the very first time that she would photograph our wedding one day. Dani was so helpful throughout the entire process. During our initial consultation, she was so supportive, encouraging, and excited, it made us feel confident in our decision to elope. She took the time to listen to our vision and then created a detailed and thoughtful schedule, while still making the day feel relaxed. Dani has a special talent for making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We really appreciated her pose guidance and her unique vision when choosing locations. When we received our photos, we were blown away by how perfectly she captured the entire day, from start to finish. The photos truly tell the story of our wedding day. It's hard to put into words how much we appreciate Dani and her work, but the photos speak for themselves. We always have and will continue to recommend Dani to everyone we know!

Dani, the amazing photographer-artist behind Gemini Sun Creative, is EVERYTHING you want and need in a wedding photographer. Starting from when we first sent her an inquiry, her way of communicating to us is very personal. Of all the photographers we contacted, she’s the only one who followed us on instagram and introduced herself. This simple gesture made us feel special—it makes you aware that there’s a real person behind this IG handle who genuinely wants to connect, get to know you and offer help. I moved to New York City (from the Philippines) two weeks before our wedding. A day after I arrived, my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting Dani and her husband at a Cuban dancing bar. We shared stories and belly-laughs. She’s easy to get along with, her vibe makes you feel safe and comfortable to be yourself. When we told her we want our photoshoot in Brooklyn Bridge Park because we saw it in the movie Past Lives, she eagerly watched it for us, “so I can nail it”, she said. The day of our wedding came and there was a heavy downpour in New York City (this was a day before the flood). Dani was so sweet to get us umbrellas prior meeting up. The rain, which one might think of as an inconvenience on a wedding day, actually turned out to be a blessing. Because of it, there were only few people in the park; it also left some puddles you can see light reflections from, which Dani keenly noticed and took advantage of. She has the eye for great photo composition that makes the subject really stand out. At the start of the photoshoot, she gave us a few pointers and shared tips. And because she took the time to get to know us and our love story, she reminded us about how special that day really is—how we braved LDR together for more than 2 years; that now we’re finally living in the same city, married, and starting a new life together. That sweet reminder made us feel grounded, it helped ease us up to just savor the moment. We were still riding our wedding high when we received her email with our entire gallery attached. We weren’t expecting our photos to be available so fast! In only 90 mins of shooting, we got 200 professionally edited and graded photos we can treasure for a lifetime. They turned out exactly how we dreamed of—beautifully captured, dreamy, indie film vibe. She really nailed it! Whenever I look back on our wedding day, I remember feeling grounded, calm and in love. Then I would look at the pictures and see those same feelings. The movie Past Lives introduced to us the concept of “in-yun”—it’s a Korean word for fate that connects people. My husband and I strongly believe that meeting Dani and having her do our elopement photoshoot is in-yun. I know words fall short when expressing your thoughts and feelings. Believe me when I say, if Dani is your wedding photographer, you can focus all your energy on just enjoying your special day, as you should. She will make sure you have all of your fond memories immortalized on photographs.
