Poughquag, NY

  • Serves New York, NY

I am a NY-based Harpist with over 18 years of experience. I have been fortunate enough to play for dozens of professional events and weddings along the East Coast. I have performed at many different events, from weddings to corporate Holiday parties to tea parties to retirement parties. Some of the locations I have been lucky to perform include the Marriott Marquis in Times Square and The Willard Intercontinental in Washington D.C. Most recently I was selected to be a featured musician on an episode of the Drew Barrymore show!

Our wedding harpist, Terrease Aiken, was an absolute dream come true! From the start, she was incredibly organized and timely, making the whole process seamless. Her willingness to incorporate our personal song choices into her repertoire was a beautiful and meaningful touch. Her attentiveness and responsiveness in the months leading up to the wedding were truly exceptional. On the big day, she surpassed ALL expectations!! Her performance was nothing short of magical, and our guests can't stop raving about her talent and unique style. She added a level of enchantment that made our special day truly unforgettable. We are forever grateful for the extraordinary touch she brought to our wedding! THANK YOU TERREASE!!

We can’t speak highly enough of Dan. The last thing we wanted was a cookie-cutter DJ for our small and intimate wedding and Dan was able to deliver. I was slightly concerned about the unusual set-up of our venue (dance floor on one side of the building and dining area/bar on the other) but Dan visited the site with us beforehand to coordinate with the General Manager about how best to set up for the event. Dan was able to accommodate our drastically different tastes in music without making the playlist seem schizophrenic. We provided him with an abbreviated list of “must plays” and we were immensely pleased with how he filled in the blanks. We knew things were going great when one of our guests gushed early on that this was the best dance music she had ever heard a DJ play at a wedding. This proved to be a popular refrain, as many of our friends and family complemented us on our excellent choice of DJ. With a healthy mix of Motown, pop and contemporary hits, Dan was able to please all of our guests. What impressed us the most was the fact that the dance floor was never empty, which is remarkable given the fact that we had a relatively small wedding. We’re so glad that we chose Dan and NyWeddingDJ.net as our DJ.

DJ Herbert Holler

5.0

Bronx, NY
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,500
  • Serves New York, NY

Herbert Holler is one of the most recognized, in-demand DJs in New York City and beyond. He specializes in providing the perfect music for your wedding, be it the frenzied dance floor of your reception, the conversation-friendly ambiance of your cocktail hour, or the serene, magical moments of your ceremony. He uses his 25-plus years of event-production experience, extensive knowledge of popular music, 20-plus years of full-time, professional, late-night club and private-event deejaying history, and an uncanny knack for reading party guests to keep you and all of your loved ones happy and having a blast. Holler at Herbert today!

Awarded Best of Zola
Hiring Herbert Holler was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Our vision was a longer reception to leave plenty of room for dancing, being together, having fun and really wanted it to be a great time for everyone there, for all ages. HH had everyone dancing at the same time- kids, teenagers, or friends, our parents' friends, and my 89 year old grandmother. He was spot on in reading the room- which wasn't the most straight forward - I asked him to sprinkle some Arabic music in so my Lebanese family could come together over familiar music- all I did was provide him a couple of titles and he ran with the rest. Didn't overdo it, and everybody joined in. It was a dream. HH was professional the whole way through and didn't require tons of collab, and was flexible and quickly responsive. My advice: Hire HH.

Awarded Best of Zola
The Hook Club was a pleasure to work with and a highlight of our wedding. We had them play for our 140-person wedding in Brooklyn this past October. We had done several calls with different bands in the local area, and from the first few minutes on the phone with Dan, we knew The Hook Club was the band for us. His professionalism, friendliness, and passion for putting together the best party possible for my wife and I made it an easy decision. The band provided us with a large song library to choose from and Dan was proactive and very responsive in helping us put together a final set list. They were flexible with additional song requests and were a huge value add when it came to working with our venue to help figure out timelines and logistics for the evening. The Hook Club crushed the performance and brought a ton of energy to make sure everyone was up and dancing until the last song. Our wedding guests repeatedly still bring up how great the music and the bands performance was. I would highly recommend The Hook Club to anyone that is looking to work with talented, experienced, and professional group of musicians. Thanks again to the Hook Club and hope to party with you all again in the future!

Marcus Ho Dj

5.0

New York, NY
  • DJ

A 16-year veteran of the NYC club scene. I collaborate closely with couples to create their unique musical experiences for themselves and their guests by delivering a Sophisticated Savoire-Faire of seamlessly blended hits from past decades to what's currently in vogue; citing T-40 Dance, House, IndiePop/Rock, Nu-Disko, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Crossover Reggae and Crossover Latin as some of my favorites.

Awarded Best of Zola
Let me tell you why Marcus is THE DJ of all wedding DJ's: 1. Timely and Responsive: There wasn't even a hitch in working with Marcus. He is timely in his responses, on time for meetings wedding (even early), and is always professional and courteous. 2. Independent: This is very important. All of our work with Marcus was done before the wedding and after answering a few questions, he flew from there. I saw him working with our caterer, wedding coordinator, friends, and other vendors to make our night special. This is invaluable as you will have a million other things racing in your head wedding day so having a DJ that resolves issues instead of creating them is critical. 3. Kind and Compassionate: Just the nicest guy there is. I must have sounded demanding during different moments during the wedding, but he always responded with kindness and a helpful attitude. Working with him has been nothing short of a complete joy. 4. Good Taste: I will say my wife and I have a truly varied taste in music between the two of us. I go more hip hop, pop, r and b while my wife is more indie, latin, jazz, bossanova. It doesn't matter with Marcus. He will not only accommodate your requests, but the man just has taste. We actually didn't have a dedicated dancing portion of the wedding but he still got people to dance. Enough said. 5. Delivers: Everything that Marcus says he will do, will be done. Follow through is important for a project such as a wedding that has so many moving parts, and knowing Marcus was at the helm with the DJ put our worries to rest.

My fiancé and I were very close to not hiring a DJ for our wedding, until we were recommended Lucas, and now I can't imagine how we could have had our party without him! He was fun, easy to work with, and most importantly played the music we wanted to hear! He curated the vibes perfectly of every segment of our wedding from the ceremony to reception, and we had so many guests tell us he was the best DJ they'd ever experienced at a wedding! I danced all night and that was my goal! Can't recommend him enough

This band is LEGIT. We booked them for our wedding last month and they totally delivered! We ended up doing a 9-piece ensemble, with smaller groupings for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Loren and the crew made it so easy for us, chatting about our style and what we wanted to hear - mostly funk and 80s. They even learned a few songs for us to truly customize our day. As music nerds ourselves, my husband and I couldn’t just trust our wedding to anyone - we both HIGHLY recommend booking them for your wedding!

Absolutely fantastic! Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without the incredible DJ services provided by Joe. 45 Riots

5.0

New York, NY
  • Band or Ensemble

www.45riots.com 45 Riots is a modern collective of first-call performing, recording, and touring musicians, operating with resolute focus, attention-to-detail, veteran experience, and artistic verve. Live music entertainment!

I don't even have the words to describe how good this band is. Candidly, my family had unrealistic expectations, and they were absolutely FLOORED by the exceptional talent of JJ, Bobbi, Jermaine, and the band. At one point a guest confused Bobbi's voice for an actual Whitney Houston recording. They brought the house down and I only wish we could have spent many more hours dancing with them. Plus the producers that you work with during the planning process are SO nice, attentive, and helpful. 45 Riots made our wedding the best night of my life. BOOK THEM!

My husband and I wanted some low key live jazz music during our wedding reception, and Thomas coordinated the perfect combo for us, a bassist, saxophonist, and drummer. It was simple yet classy, just as we wanted, and the musicians were top-notch. He also put together a playlist for us and played “Canon in D” on the violin during the ceremony. Thomas’ professionalism and attention to detail really made an impression! He was meticulous and thoughtful in the way he planned out and executed the music component of our wedding, it truly made our guests and the entire experience all the more memorable and elegant. Thank you so much Thomas!

Communication is key. Your band or DJ should be in sync with your wedding day schedule, hitting the right notes at the right moments.
