We were so pleased with our wedding at Stroudsmoor Country Inn. The venue staff were friendly, responded to emails and calls in a very timely manner, and kept communications concise and helpful leading up to the big day. For the Poconos area, we found Stroudsmoor to be very affordable for both the ceremony and reception. The food was fantastic - all of our guests raved about it! The servers were also excellent, very professional and attentive throughout the evening. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our special day. From the beautiful grounds to the delicious food to the wonderful staff, Stroudsmoor really helped make our wedding reception a huge success.

Getting married at Olio was one of the best choices we made. It’s truly one of the most unique venues out there because you can transform the entire space to make it completely your own. Even though they host events every weekend, nothing ever feels “cookie-cutter.” The room becomes whatever you dream it to be — and that’s something you just don’t find anywhere else. Sarah and her team were incredible from start to finish. From the moment we requested a tour to a month after the wedding, their communication never stopped. They made us feel like family throughout the entire process. They were always there to answer my wild questions, guide me when my ideas needed reigning in, and support every detail with patience and care. Our guests loved the space and could not stop raving about it. Everyone kept saying how “us” it felt — which is exactly what we wanted. The cement walls paired with the rented disco ball created such a cool, modern, unforgettable moody BUT romantic vibe. The space makes a statement without overshadowing your personal style. Honestly, I wish I had more large parties to plan just so I could spend more time in that room. Olio is a dream venue with a dream team behind it. Highly, highly recommend!

The Sanctuary on Roosevelt Island provided the dreamiest backdrop for our wedding last month! Their entire team went above and beyond for us on our big day. Our friends and family raved about the location, the ambiance, the food, the service. About an hour before our ceremony started, it began to pour outside- and we were meant to have an outdoor ceremony! My husband and I sat in our vintage taxi parked out front of the venue, and watched The Sanctuary staff run around in the torrential downpour to save our ceremony and move everything indoors- and the fact that the rain only put us about 15 minutes behind the original schedule?! I’m still not sure how they managed it. Would also like to send a special shout out to Amelia, who more recently joined the Sanctuary team as event coordinator- she was not part of the team when we first signed out contract, but she proved to be an invaluable resource to us on the day of the wedding. She is a fabulous addition! Alfonso gave us our first tour of the venue that made us fall in love with the space. Frank was so patient and kind and answered all of our questions- and even helped us accommodate a last minute addition guest who was originally too ill to attend our wedding but who luckily recovered well enough to be able to come. Thank you again to the Sanctuary team from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our wedding the most magical and special day of our life!

The Oviatt Penthouse is a ridiculously unique venue. The outdoor patios are amazing- perfect for the ceremony, dinner and dancing. We had a band and it was perfect. The views are insane. The bridal suite is the original owner's bedroom- all w/ original furniture. Gorgeous. The staff were AMAZING. Super cool, down to earth, normal people who are great at their jobs. We are so beyond happy we went with this venue.

From the moment we stepped into Watson Block we just knew it was exactly what we were looking for in a venue. If your vibe is intimate, romantic, old world charm this is your spot. Pictures don’t do it justice and it’s so beautiful you truly need very little to make it your own. Gaby was incredible for the entire planning process all the way through to our big day. We did almost everything ourselves- including creating an arch to be married under, to signage, to table decor, even our own wedding flowers. Gaby answered every question with ease and was incredible at assuaging my nerves. She and her team set things up perfectly from the ceremony to the switch for dinner and then dancing. I often questioned if we needed a day of coordinator and was so happy I didn’t waste my money on one because it wasn’t needed. I never knew a day could be as truly magical as our wedding was and a huge part of that was how much we loved our venue. I would happily suggest it to anyone asking. The other huge bonus is it was truly one of if not the best value for venues in the twin cities. This gem will continue to gain notoriety as an incredible venue for years to come!!

The venue itself is beautiful and having so many elements like the florist, food, cake, tables/chairs, etc all on site simplified the planning process. Working with Gianna, Steph, and Alex was lovely - they all went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly, even capturing our solo last dance that we're so grateful to have. Despite hosting weddings all the time, the staff made us feel like we were the only couple they were focusing on. Flagstaff House was incredible! They were such a great venue. Annie was our event planner, and she was perfect - professional, friendly, and so helpful helping everything run smoothly day of. The venue itself was beautiful and did a great job helping us plan for any weather scenario. The food was INCREDIBLE - each of the dishes were delicious and the cake was just as beautiful as it was delicious. It ended up being a surprisingly budget friendly option as well - although the price for food is higher than most places, the fact that the restaurant provided everything needed for the lunch including custom menus, the cake, and all of the linens/chairs/tables/table numbers/etc. meant that the total price ended up being a great value.

Built in 1927 as an all-boy Catholic boarding school. It eventually evolved into a renowned military school for boys. Throughout its history the school stayed true to its Catholic roots and the nuns who served and taught here. Operating until 1982 the stories written within its walls are still told today. Re-emerging with a new mission and purpose in April of 1991, Nazareth Hall was reborn. It is in this picturesque place, reminiscent of castles of old, that brides come to be married and celebrate with family and friends in grand ballrooms. When we were looking for a venue, I immediately fell in love with the look and feel of Nazareth Hall. It is a beautiful place that allows for so much diversity in decor/theme. Not only was Nazareth beautiful, but the staff was absolutely wonderful! They worked with us to ensure that we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. There was never a time that I felt stressed during our wedding planning because our coordinator at Nazareth helped us through each step! She always ensured that we had specific things booked by certain times in our planning. The amazing staff didn’t end with our wedding planner/coordinator, the waitstaff and day of coordinator were also amazing! I never felt like I was forced to pay for things we didn’t need and the food was amazing! Nazareth Hall is 1000% the best wedding venue in the area! We have had nothing but positive experiences here!

Out of the many decisions we had to make throughout our wedding planning, choosing this venue truly was our best one. We would choose it over and over again! It’s a beautiful venue and we loved how the outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all separate spaces but right next to each other. The best part of all is the service they provide. Months before the wedding you are given an event producer & they help you plan the day. We didn’t need our own wedding coordinator at all. Our event producer was Anne and she made the whole process just so easy! She had answers to any questions we had. Our wedding day went so smoothly & Anne is great at running the show while keeping the energy fun & light! We really got to just shut our minds off & enjoy our day stress-free thanks to the wonderful staff.

The team at Terrain are true pros. We planned with Carla and Kelly who were delightful and thought of every detail. We had a wedding attendant, Hen, on the day who took care of every need. We felt on the day of the wedding that things ran so smoothly because of the Terrain staff, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. The venue is stunning on its own, and the decor we added just made our winter wonderland come to life. There were so many good photo spots both inside and out. Although it was cold, we made the most of the twinkling lights outside set up for the holidays. Truly the most magical winter wonderland

We got married at the Blue Dress Barn this summer and our entire wedding day was like a fairytale--we still can't get over how beautiful everything was. The greenery and grounds of the BDB are unmatched and our guests couldn't stop commenting on how beautiful everything was. Amelia is helpful and easy to work with and Georgia is lovely as well. The barn staff left the florals up on the arch and in the barn from the night before, which was such an incredible surprise because they were so gorgeous. The getting ready areas for the bridesmaids and groomsmen had so many beautiful & intentional details that made it so special for us. The venue is also well known by other vendors in the area as well since it's been around for so long (23 years!), and so working with our catering staff (Classic Catering), photography (Spencer Penfield) and DJ (DJ Jennefa) was a breeze. If we could do it all over again, we wouldn't change a single thing. We feel so grateful we were able to spend our favorite day with all of our friends and family at this beautiful venue! Cannot say enough good things about Sylvan Ridge, where we had the most magical wedding weekend earlier this month. It was only the 2nd venue we visited, and we fell in love with it immediately. Absolutely gorgeous space, and all beautifully maintained - from the farmhouse cottage that sleep 16 (so we could stay onsite with our wedding party), to the courtyard space with lovely mountain views, to the barn itself (two levels, fully customizable, with plenty of dance floor left over), to the fairy circle and firepit in the woods where they'll even start the fire for you. We loved that we were able to book an entire weekend, having the place for three days really made it a special experience. Linnea, the owner, is kind, helpful, and super easy to work with; Alyssa is their amazing planner and helped make sure our entire timeline was built out and everything was just right. The photos are stunning and we'll treasure all the memories - from relaxing at the house to the rehearsal dinner to the wonderful wedding day itself, we couldn't be happier. We also LOVED that the venue is dog friendly, so that we could have our dog Miya right there as the ringbearer as well! Thanks Linnea and Alyssa! :)

Black Walnut Farm is an unbelievable venue that far exceeded our expectations for our wedding. Beyond the incredible property, the owners are excellent to work with from your first tour to even after your event. To start, the barn and the surrounding grounds look incredible and are so beautifully manicured. So many of our guests complimented the venue. The staff also blended very seamlessly with our caterer. We used Bridge Creek Catering, who were unbelievably on top of it, and between the venue and the caterers there wasn’t a single hiccup. Sarah’s day-of coordination definitely tied everything together and gave us a ton of confidence that event would run smoothly. We rented a tent for our reception and had it placed on the main lawn. The scene behind us, wild grass and a line of trees, is absolutely stunning in our photos. And the ceremony space in the woods is honestly magical. The farmhouse on the property, where the wedding party can stay for the duration of their weekend, is so comfortable and classic. The MASSIVE fireplace in the parlor is so amazing. And who doesn’t love a hot tub? We can’t say enough good things about Black Walnut.

Even before we signed our contract, Patricia had great communication, was a wealth of knowledge, made us feel comfortable, and answered all of our questions. Then based on the day we selected for our reception, Emily was our day of coordinator. Emily is just as detail oriented and communicative as Patricia. They make an excellent team, are a pleasure to work with, and are phenomenal at what they do. Truly! They know every question to ask to ensure every detail is executed to your vision and that's exactly what happened. Our day was absolutely perfect. We got so many compliments on the venue and the food! We chose their BBQ menu, an assortment of desserts (the churros were a big hit), and late night snacks. We can't recommend The Rose Venue, Patricia, Emily, and The Rose team enough!

Cannot recommend the Franklin enough for a wedding! We had the ceremony and reception there for a summer wedding in July 2024. The venue was renovated beautifully but kept historic (there are many photo ops). The team was professional and extremely helpful in every way. Our guests raved about the atmosphere, food, and drinks. The room was flipped quickly during cocktail hour. The food was served efficiently, and they accommodated all guest allergies. They kept us on schedule and really made the day go smoothly. We were able to take advantage of all their resources. You’re in good hands with the Franklin and their team!

We had the most magical day of our lives getting married at the Hampshire House in early May this year. Right from the get go, Hampshire House checked all our boxes when it came to what we were looking for in a wedding venue. It has that old New England charm, is located right next to the beautiful Public Gardens and is the perfect size for an intimate, small to medium sized wedding (we had 60-70 guests in attendance). Most of all, the food here is beyond exceptional and some of the best we’ve had. We are major foodies, and having food that was well-plated, generously portioned, and above all delicious and memorable was a high priority item for us. We were lucky enough to be able to work with Sydney Turnbull and the Hampshire house team. Sydney is the most kind, professional, and detail-oriented catering sales manager and event coordinator and thanks to her, all our venue planning with Hampshire House was truly smooth sailing and stress-free. Sydney constantly kept us in the loop with next steps in our planning timeline, offering thoughtful recommendations and suggestions for our wedding (such as floral placements during our ceremony, order and timing of toasts/speeches, seating arrangements, the list goes on!) She kept in contact with all our vendors, always promptly responded to our many emails, walked us through all the steps during our ceremony rehearsal —somehow making it seem much less daunting, and on our big day Sydney seemed to always be one step ahead, preparing and leading us through every portion of our wedding timeline in such a seamless way. Lastly, since our wedding ended late into the evening, Hampshire House thoughtfully held on to and organized all our florals, and various wedding signage and other items so that we were able to return and pick it up at the venue on a following day. This made it so we didn’t have to worry about anything at all night of and could end our wedding day with the peace of mind that everything was taken care of. Truly, we cannot recommend Sydney and the Hampshire House enough and if we were to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing!

How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year.
