We had our wedding at Chateau du Sureau and couldn't have asked for a better experience. From our first conversation with Sayda, she was helpful, professional, and kind throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. What really impressed us was how accommodating they were with our menu needs and table layouts—they listened to what we wanted and made it happen without any fuss. Sayda was a pleasure to work with and made us feel like our day mattered to her. We'd recommend Chateau du Sureau to any couple looking for a stunning venue with a team that genuinely cares.

We absolutely loved our experience at HC! The venue is beautiful, intimate, and doesn’t need a lot of decor to spruce it up. It’s gorgeous! Don’t let the noise ordinance scare you; our party was lit!!! Everyone was up & dancing and the sound was the perfect volume. Our guests were blown away by how pretty and comfortable this venue is. Some called it a magical garden- it truly was! Epic Events (coordinators) were AWESOME. I highly recommend working with them. Kimberly, our coordinator, made our planning process and wedding day so chill & special for us. We really enjoyed our wedding day!!

No stress, no pressure—just genuine enthusiasm to help us make it happen. Lindsey was incredible. Even though we were fairly on top of everything, she guided us with clarity, creativity, and care. When plans shifted, she adjusted seamlessly and brought everything together in a way that felt effortless (though we know it wasn’t!). Even when the downtown curfew popped up the week of our wedding, the team took every curveball in stride and made sure we felt cared for from start to finish. The 1880 Union Hotel is a truly exceptional wedding venue. Their communication style is personable, tailored, and efficient - they make you feel welcomed and valued throughout the entire process. The quality of their work and the value they provide is simply exquisite. They have a unique and beautiful approach, always going above and beyond to customize the experience for each couple. For example, they accommodated our request to have the rental load-in at 8am the day before, even though it was outside their normal schedule. There were also no unexpected fees, and the chef even came in early to monitor the process. This team clearly prioritizes ease and reducing stress for the couple, which is not the case everywhere. In another case, when the linens weren't picked up from the rental company and I, as the planner, was already home from the wedding, being days later -- they handled before I even know, but they took these large linen duffel bags into UPS without hesitation. The team as a whole understands hospitality and how important it is to keep things calm, cool, and collected - they've mastered that. Additionally, the customization of the menu was fantastic. During our tasting, we had one-on-one time with the chef to discuss our preferences, dislikes, and dream wishes for the cuisine - and they made it all happen seamlessly. We highly recommend the 1880 Union Hotel for their personable service, exquisite quality, and commitment to making your wedding day truly special.

Candi and Byron at the Terrace Room helped make our wedding reception a memorable, elegant, and easygoing event. We started the process early (18 months), and they supported us in navigating meal options, laying out the floor plans, and creating an atmosphere filled with warmth. Everyone involved in our reception was exceptionally professional, passionate and dedicated to creating a memorable (even if ephemeral) night. We are so thankful to Candi and Byron who shepherded us through every micro decision (linens, hors d'oeuvres, music, decorations, vendors, etc). Without them the event wouldn’t have felt unique to us. If you’re looking for a venue that brings history, classic architecture, unbeatable views, and a dedicated staff, this is the place!

We got married at La Venta Inn in September 2024 and it was truly everything we could have asked for. The centerpiece here, and a large part of why we chose this venue, is the spectacular view overlooking the ocean which made for such beautiful pictures. Besides the natural beauty of the area, the building itself is a historic villa which felt cozy and intimate and yet comfortably accommodated our guest count of 100. Savannah was our contact person and was very responsive to emails, including some last minute seating changes we had in the weeks leading up to the wedding La Venta works exclusively with Made by Meg for catering - Kat was our contact person and was fantastic to work with. Note that they do not allow outside food vendors, but they were able to accommodate some of our special requests such as requests to source a specific brand of ice cream so that we could make our wedding unique to us. We got so many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was. The other exclusive vendor that they are contracted with is Vox DJs. This is the only vendor that we had a less than stellar experience with. They performed their duties fine on the day of the wedding, with the exception of forgetting to set up the dance lights we had paid for, but the communication and planning leading up the wedding did not go as smoothly as I hoped, and I wish that we had the flexibility to go with a DJ company of our own choosing. However I understand the restrictions given that La Venta is a historic site. Overall, our wedding at La Venta was memorable, beautiful, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a gorgeous venue with spectacular ceremony views. With a venue like this, you really only need a good florist (we used Flowernoon Shop) and a talented photographer (June Choi Photography) to bring out the natural beauty of the venue - you really don't need a lot of other rentals, draping, etc. We are so happy we had our wedding here!

Bendiciones

We celebrated our 26-year vow renewal at the Heirloom Inn, and it was everything we dreamed of. One tour of this place, we were hooked and we stopped searching elsewhere. Tiffany serves as both the venue owner and coordinator. She absolutely knows how to make everything look so dreamy. They have everything you need for decor available. We created beautiful centerpieces from the items she had. Platters, aisle decorations, alter decorations. All tables and chairs… they set out appetizers, late night snacks and brewed coffee for us! just wow! Our event happened during an unexpected heat wave, but Tiffany and her team did everything possible to help guests stay comfortable. They made sure there was plenty of water available, encouraged guests to stay hydrated, constantly moving umbrellas for shade. The grounds are absolutely magical. The shady garden, koi pond, vintage charm, twinkle lights, chandeliers, and fairy-tale atmosphere created the most romantic setting imaginable. There were plenty of cozy seating and lounge areas where guests could mingle, relax, and enjoy the evening. We were checked on constantly, our guests were taken care of, and countless details were handled behind the scenes. The venue is nearly all-inclusive, which removed so much stress from the planning process. As an added bonus, the couple gets to stay overnight, allowing the celebration to end without having to rush anywhere else. They tell you go rest and all your stuff will be packed ready for you in the morning! The Heirloom Inn didn’t just host our vow renewal—they helped make the wedding we never had come true. After 26 years of marriage, we finally got the celebration we had always dreamed about. We are incredibly grateful to Tiffany and her team and would recommend the Heirloom Inn without hesitation to any couple looking for a beautiful, stress-free, and unforgettable wedding experience.

My husband and I love our wedding venue, The Sanctuary. We were lost when we first started wedding planning because we had no direction. After attending an open house at The Sanctuary, we met Mason who helped us build a package for our big day. We picked out every detail and made our vision come to life. They also connected us to their vendors who were a pleasure to work with. Lastly, the venue itself is beautiful. The cathedral and courtyard were perfect for our photos. The dining hall was just as beautiful and charming. Our guests kept complimenting how elegant everything was. I highly recommend booking this venue.

Rachel and the Lone Wulff Ranch were an absolute dream for our wedding day. We were specifically looking for a venue where we weren't locked into catering contracts and could have food that fit us best and we quickly found The Lone Wulff Ranch. Immediately upon pulling onto the property for a tour I was pretty confident we were going to book. It has the perfect rustic ranch feel with so many options for your day. The oak tree is magical, the goats add such a fun touch, noodle and the rest of the characters on the ranch just added even more to the experience. In planning the big day Rachel was extremely prompt and professional. She has seen A LOT and she knows what to prepare you for. Her vendor list is top tier, but she lets you book outside of her list if you want which is nice if you want the flexibility. The staff on site during the wedding is amazing. Everyone is all in on you having a magical day and it really shows. The only issue (that I know of, at least) on our wedding day was that the bathroom generator ran out of gas, but Rachel was immediately on it and refilled it in a matter of minutes. This venue has SO MUCH to offer. If it fits your vision, book it. There is so much customization on this property, they have a prop den if you want to keep it easy. We got so many compliments on the venue and how balanced it is for guests. It gives you separate ceremony and reception space all on one property allowing for a seamless experience for everyone. The barn critters were such a fun addition for us, but Rachel also was extremely mindful that they were part of our vision for the day. I will always sing the praises of Rachel and this venue, absolutely would recommend.

About wedding venues in California

California offers an incredible 840 miles of coastline, 3,000+ wineries and ancient redwoods for your wedding day. When you choose the Golden State, you're getting exceptional natural lighting for your ceremony across diverse settings from Mediterranean coastal zones to alpine mountain backdrops. Each region has its own distinctive character that can perfectly match your vision.

What Makes California Wedding Venues So Special?

Northern California's Napa Valley welcomes you with rolling vineyards and Spanish colonial architecture where intimate wine cave ceremonies create unforgettable moments. Head to Southern California and you'll find oceanfront venues like Duke's Malibu where you can exchange vows with the Pacific stretching out behind you while enjoying fresh coastal-inspired cuisine. Palm Springs offers dramatic desert venues with mountain backdrops and striking midcentury modern architecture that photographs beautifully.

Accessibility options have improved greatly across California venues in recent years.

When Should You Book Your California Wedding Venue?

October leads venue inquiries in California with couples typically booking venues about 13 months (400 days) before their wedding date. If you're dreaming of a Northern California wine country wedding during peak season you'll want to book up to 18 months in advance. Southern California venues offer more flexibility especially during winter months when you can still enjoy beautiful weather while potentially securing better rates.
