About this venue

OCEAN VIEW San Diego Wedding & Event Venue. The Thursday Club offers a beautiful outdoor garden for your ceremony, and a historic indoor clubhouse for your reception. We allow you to BYOB, which can be served by one of our Approved Caterers. Built in 1927 in Spanish architectural style, our extraordinary Clubhouse sits on a half acre of stunning ocean view property in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood of Point Loma. The well-tended, often blooming gardens offer an inviting entrance into our charming clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse you'll find original, beautifully maintained hardwood flooring, French doors, stained glass windows, and historic details in the chandeliers, crown moldings and finishes. Outside a wonderland of pristine gardens with a flowing fountain, green arbors, trellises, winding paths, and breathtaking ocean views. Our Garden accommodates 145 chairs for ceremonies with standing room for 15 on our balcony. Indoor seated receptions accommodate 150 with a dance floor.

Our clubhouse features a 2500 sq ft ballroom for your reception, along with our Sun Room with fireplace which where a buffet can be set up. Our living room has cozy couches and chairs with in incredible ocean view. Our stage can be used for your DJ, Cake, or wedding party seating. There are two patios with great ocean views and another

My wife and I were scouting the Thursday Club for a potential wedding venue, and as soon as we pulled up we knew it was perfect. Upon walking in and meeting Chris, our feelings were only affirmed even further. The warm hospitality you are greeted with can only be matched by the truly breathtaking views and location of the venue. We can honestly say there is not one thing we wish was different when looking back at our special day. The entire process, from scouting 9 months in advance, communication throughout, the rehearsal, and then the actual day of the event, everything was perfect. We even had the additional challenge of planning our entire event from the opposite side of the country, but Chris was so responsive and accommodating, it was seamless. We could not possibly recommend the Thursday Club any more, if you are looking for a magical venue with a wonderful host and some outstanding vendor recommendations, your search is over.

I have had the pleasure of working at the Thursday Club many times. It is an amazing place to get married at! The location is ideal as the Thursday club is nestled perfectly between Point Loma and Ocean Beach. It has everything you need for the perfect wedding. The views of the ocean are fantastic! There are so many places you can take photos. The ceremony space is cozy and intimate but can also accommodate all of your guests. The reception space is flexible and can meet what ever design ideas you have! If you are looking for the perfect wedding venue book the Thursday Club!

I got married on October 14, 2023 and I would 100% recommend The Thursday Club. The venue is beautiful, Chris (manager) is so easy to work with, and the place has so much room for your guests to enjoy your big day! Chris has great wedding vendor recommendations, it was easy to communicate with him, the venue was always sparkling clean and the gardens are gorgeous. Save yourself some time and just book your big day at The Thursday Club, you will not regret it!

I am a wedding coordinator in San Diego and I am not ashamed to say that The Thursday Club is my favorite venue!!! A short drive from downtown San Diego & the airport, nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Point Loma, The Thursday Club is a prefect spot for your wedding ceremony & reception! The historic building is pristine with original chandeliers and tradition Spanish architecture. The garden and outdoor spaces are beautifully maintained with blooming flowers, mature trees, succulents and a working fountain - countless stunning spots for amazing wedding photos! Plus it is a convenient drive to Sunset Cliffs for photos on the Cliffs. Two spacious terraces off the main clubhouse have outstanding views of Ocean Beach & the Pacific - you and your guests have a front row seat of the most stellar sunsets! The private garden is the perfect spot for your ceremony, white padded chairs are included in your rental that are set atop the spacious stone patio. Your rental also includes numerous folding tables and a second set of white padded chairs for reception. A working fireplace in the Sun Room and comfortable living room with large windows is a lovely space for guests to visit and relax. The getting ready room has a private entrance and restroom - it is the perfect space for weddings parties to get dressed and prep for ceremony. Newley added Spanish tiles on the main staircase is super cool also! Guests are always mesmerized by the stunning views captivate by the venue’s rich history. The venue has 12 diverse catering companies to choose from to cater your event, something for everyone! Chris Erickson, the onsite manager is SO helpful and easy to work with! He is kind, easy going and cares so much about the property, always working on projects to keep the venue shining. He truly cares about the clients happiness. I am not lying when I say that The Thursday Club is my favorite venue to work with and one of my very favorite spaces to be, my second home : ) Thank you Chris and The Thursday Club for opening your doors for happy celebrations! July-October are our busiest months, but we have the same rates year-round

Yes, we allow you to bring your own alcohol (no kegs, and hard alcohol has to be served on ice or with mixers - no shots). Your caterer will provide your bar tenders

It's street parking for us, but it's free and plentiful.

November - March are our slower seasons, but we have the same pricing year-round. Hey, it's San Diego!

Yes, our clubhouse facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have a ramp that goes down our garden ceremony area.

Our fee includes exclusive use of our entire venue, along with our inventory of tables, and white/padded resin chairs.

Our wedding rental includes 8 hours exclusive use of the entire venue, which gives you 5 hours of event time. Extra time can be added to the beginning of a rental so you can have more or set up or reception time.

If cancelled, security deposit is forfeited and rental fee paid so far is forfeited.

We're only 3.6 miles from the San Diego International Airport (SAN). Super easy and convenient! Rideshare/Rental Car/Taxi all work well.

Yes, a minimum of one million dollars per occurrence listing The Thursday Club and The Thursday Club Foundation as additional insured. If having alcohol at your event, you must also include Liquor Liability insurance. Reach out and we can refer you to some companies. It usually costs around $100 for 100 people.

Since we're in a beautiful residential neighborhood, we end events at 9pm, and guests departed by 9:30pm. We're close to some after party spots if needed.

The Thursday Club has a list of Approved Caterers who all provide full service catering and are highly skilled at working at our facility. They all have current licensing and all the proper insurance. Full service catering includes all your linens, china, silverware/glassware, all the staffing to set the tables, manage the food and beverage and do all the clean-up. Contact us for our Approved Caterers List so you can contact them for their prices.

Yes. The Thursday Club requires all weddings to have a Professional, insured Wedding Coordinator. Professional coordinators are experienced at running complicated events with many moving parts. Your coordinator will maintain the agenda for the rehearsal, ceremony and reception, as well as be responsible for assisting in set-up and breakdown. The coordinator is required to be the first vendor on the premises and to stay the duration of the event and vendor clean up. The Thursday Club can recommend several great coordinators that work here a lot and can make your day THE BEST!

The Garden is used for the wedding ceremony only. Because of our location in a residential neighborhood, all reception activities (dinner/dance floor) need to be in the clubhouse. Guests can walk around to enjoy the Garden with food and drink during the entire reception, but no bar or food tables set up in the Garden.
