About this venue

Ready to say "I DO' with an OCEAN VIEW? The Thursday Club offers a beautiful outdoor garden for your ceremony, and a historic indoor clubhouse for your reception. Both with incredible ocean and city views. Located in the Sunset Cliffs neighborhood of Point Loma, our 1927 Spanish style Clubhouse sits on a half acre of stunning ocean view property. The well-tended, often blooming gardens offer an inviting entrance into our charming clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse you'll find original hardwood flooring, French doors, stained glass windows, and historic details in the chandeliers, crown moldings and finishes. Outside a wonderland of pristine gardens with a flowing fountain, green arbors, trellises, winding paths, and breathtaking ocean views. Our Garden accommodates 145 chairs for ceremonies with standing room for 15 on our balcony. Indoor seated receptions accommodate 150 with a dance floor. We allow you to BYOB, which can be served by one of our Approved Caterers.

As the aisle beckons, your guests will gather for the ceremony outside in the enchanting gardens. Follow the winding paths to a secluded site where you exchange vows in view of breathtaking Pacific Ocean vistas. Below the stone ceremony patio, our peaceful water fountain is a perfect spot for those photos.

Description

Enjoy 8 hours of exclusive access to our entire venue, including the use of our collection of tables and chairs. The space is further elevated with the addition of ambient hanging string lights and vibrant colored UP lights that create a stunning atmosphere by casting rich, colorful hues on the walls.

    TTC will forever hold a special place in our 3's

    We decided to have our wedding here and I am so happy we did! This location is not only affordable, but such a great spot that allows you to customize your wedding to your liking. The beautiful garden and excellent up-keep of the clubhouse really elevated our budget wedding. Not to mention the views are incredible! We had our wedding early July, and the weather was phenomenal - the skies were clear and there was just enough breeze to cool down from the sun. And of course, shoutout to Chris who was so awesome to work with. He was so responsive and incredibly professional. You can tell his passion for The Thursday Club immediately by the way he conducts himself and pours his love into maintaining the club. He also had great vendor recommendations and connected us with Courtney from Breezy Day to help coordinate our wedding (she was incredible as well). 10/10, would recommend!

    Wedding Venue Experience

    The Thursday Club was the perfect venue for our wedding. The beautiful ocean views, charming garden, lovely ceremony space, and great reception area made it feel so special. Since it feels more like a house than a traditional venue, it created a warm and intimate atmosphere that my husband and I loved. Chris, the venue manager, was kind, professional, and wonderful to work with throughout the process. The venue also hosts open houses a couple of times a year, giving couples the chance to meet a variety of wedding vendors. Choosing The Thursday Club was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, and we highly recommend it!

    Amazing Wedding Venue

    Beautiful venue and excellent service! My family was so happy with how the wedding ceremony and reception turned out. The venue was extremely convenient for family and friends that were flying in from out of town. Everyone had such a great time. Thank you!!!

    Beautiful venue

    The Thursday Club was the perfect venue for our intimate 50-person wedding. From our first interaction, the staff was friendly, happy, and accommodating, making the planning process a breeze. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and immaculately maintained, providing a gorgeous backdrop for our special day. Chris, our point of contact, was incredibly easy to work with and made sure all our needs were met. The location was also ideal, making it convenient for our guests. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and highly recommend The Thursday Club for any couple looking for a beautiful, intimate wedding venue.

    The best venue in San Diego

    Without a doubt, the best place to get married! The Thursday Club provides an intimate setting, beautiful garden, and stunning ocean view for your special day. As soon as my husband and I toured, we knew it was our spot for the best day of our lives. The ease of having the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception is one place was unbeatable. The manager Chris was a joy to work with! He is kind, communicative, and was flexible with our schedule since we do not live in San Diego. The history and beauty of this venue made our day feel so romantic and special. I highly recommend dancing the night away with all of your loved ones at The Thursday

July-October are our busiest months, but we have the same rates year-round
Yes, we allow you to bring your own alcohol (no kegs, and hard alcohol has to be served on ice or with mixers - no shots). Your caterer will provide your bar tenders
It's street parking for us, but it's free and plentiful.
November - March are our slower seasons, but we have the same pricing year-round. Hey, it's San Diego!
Yes, our clubhouse facilities are wheelchair accessible. We also have a ramp that goes down our garden ceremony area.
Our fee includes exclusive use of our entire venue, along with our inventory of tables, and white/padded resin chairs.
Our wedding rental includes 8 hours exclusive use of the entire venue, which gives you 5 hours of event time. Extra time can be added to the beginning of a rental so you can have more or set up or reception time.
If cancelled, security deposit is forfeited and rental fee paid so far is forfeited.
We're only 3.6 miles from the San Diego International Airport (SAN). Super easy and convenient! Rideshare/Rental Car/Taxi all work well.
Yes, a minimum of one million dollars per occurrence listing The Thursday Club and The Thursday Club Foundation as additional insured. If having alcohol at your event, you must also include Liquor Liability insurance. Reach out and we can refer you to some companies. It usually costs around $100 for 100 people.
Since we're in a beautiful residential neighborhood, we end events at 9pm, and guests departed by 9:30pm. We're close to some after party spots if needed.
The Thursday Club has a list of Approved Caterers who all provide full service catering and are highly skilled at working at our facility. They all have current licensing and all the proper insurance. Full service catering includes all your linens, china, silverware/glassware, all the staffing to set the tables, manage the food and beverage and do all the clean-up. Contact us for our Approved Caterers List so you can contact them for their prices.
Yes. The Thursday Club requires all weddings to have a Professional, insured Wedding Coordinator. Professional coordinators are experienced at running complicated events with many moving parts. Your coordinator will maintain the agenda for the rehearsal, ceremony and reception, as well as be responsible for assisting in set-up and breakdown. The coordinator is required to be the first vendor on the premises and to stay the duration of the event and vendor clean up. The Thursday Club can recommend several great coordinators that work here a lot and can make your day THE BEST!
The Garden is used for the wedding ceremony only. Because of our location in a residential neighborhood, all reception activities (dinner/dance floor) need to be in the clubhouse. Guests can walk around to enjoy the Garden with food and drink during the entire reception, but no bar or food tables set up in the Garden.
