About this venue
Willowdale Estate is a private mansion, just 30-miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Located within a 720-acre state forest, and along the pristine Ipswich River. Our private estate is the perfect setting for a New England wedding ceremony and reception. Our coordination team and catering staff will execute your plan with grace, leaving you free to enjoy the party and mix with your guests. At Willowdale Estate, we host two wedding seasons. Our Tent Season from May-October is perfect for parties between 125-240 guests, and our Mansion Season from November-April is better suited for smaller parties between 80-125 guests inside our Estate. As you search for a venue, we would love to hear from you! We can send open dates, host a tour of our space, or create a quote for you. Tent Events (Mansion, Tent, and Garden)
Your once-in-a-lifetime celebration deserves a one-of-a-kind setting.
Tent Season events include our private mansion, garden, and Sperry Tent. Guests enjoy the historic character of our estate, the beauty of our Garden Courtyard with a variety of flowering plants and trees, as well as, multiple access points to the mansion. Dinner and dancing are hosted under our Sperry Tent. Our restaurant-style catering is prepared on-site by the Willowdale Estate catering team, and we include support from on-site event coordinators.

- Bistro lights along the perimeter of the tent, with lanterns on the spruce center poles - Covered walkway connecting the tent and the mansion - Dining, cocktail, and café tables, and garden chairs - Tent heaters and fans available for use as needed; the Estate is air-conditioned and heated - Parking attendants - Three private hospitality suites for use during your event - Dance floor, courtyard bistro lights, and other custom features can be added (additional pricing will apply)
Mansion Events
Easy to plan, impossible to forget.
Events in the mansion (November - April) include full use of the main floor of the estate, with access to three private suites on the second floor for getting ready. Indoor events are cozy and romantic with warm wood tones of the house, festive, and lights. We are happy to incorporate personal touches that keep our century-old mansion vibrant, dynamic, and full of life. Our mansion features leaded stained glass windows, stone fireplaces, and intricate wood molding.

THE PERFECT DAY!
We fell in love with Willowdale Estate the moment we arrived, and it was even more gorgeous on our wedding day. Our guests are still raving about venue and the food! The entire staff was amazing, so warm, professional, and eager to help with anything we needed. Jordan was incredible and made every detail perfect. Truly the dream team at a dream venue.
Beautiful September wedding
My husband and I got married at Willowdale in September 2025. We cannot say enough good things about the venue. They were extremely attentive and responsive throughout the whole wedding process and our day of coordinator, Jordan, was absolutely amazing. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff went above and beyond. Our guests had a wonderful time. We were so happy!!
Stunning venue -- horrible service
Willowdale is absolutely stunning. We wanted a venue that was unique, beautiful and timeless and Willowdale was the perfect. While most venues with real character have small imperfections and some corners that are rough around the edges, Willowdale is actually stunning everywhere you look and from every angle, earning this perfectionist’s seal of approval. Additionally the food and drinks were great. Unfortunately, the service doesn’t meet the same standard. We had to repeatedly follow-up on nearly every email and our in-house coordinator scheduled our final details meeting weeks late, putting us on edge and making it harder to tie up loose ends. On the day of, at times, our coordinator was no where to be found and allowed our timeline to get way off track, making some key moments at the end of the night feel very rushed. If you’re getting married here, do yourself a favor and hire an outside coordinator, you can’t rely on Willowdale. While the bartenders were great, multiple guests remarked that the servers, particularly those who were distributing passed-apps, looked up happy and unwelcoming, which is the last thing you want to see at a wedding. This is a popular and beautiful venue so unfortunately they’ve really let the service slide. Last of all, be prepared to be nickle- -dimed on everything, even something like patio string lights which should be a standard feature.
An incredible venue!!!!
We got married at Willowdale on 10/17/25 and it was the most perfect day!!! We knew as soon as we visited the venue a year prior that we wanted to get married here. It just feels like home, even though it’s this grandeur mansion. The entire venue has so much character - you don’t need to go crazy with decor because the venue truly speaks for itself. Leading up to the wedding, the Willowdale staff was so easy to reach by phone/email with any and all questions, and they provide great resources to help with the planning process! Julia, our day-of coordinator, was SO wonderful to work with in the final weeks leading up to the wedding as well as the day of. We got so many compliments from our family and friends about how the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception ran so smoothly. The food was also SO good - we also got lots of compliments from guests on this!! The entire day felt like a dream, and it is all thanks to Willowdale Estate, their amazing staff, and our incredible vendors!
