My work is vibrant, moment-driven, and authentic. I love focusing on your connection as a couple, what makes you and your wedding unique, and your interactions with family and friends as you celebrate together. My approach to wedding photography leans toward a documentary or photojournalistic style with a fine art element (I graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in studio art). While I might suggest an area with great lighting to stand in, I will never ask you to “pretend” to do anything. Ever.

    We met Danielle at an LGBTQ wedding expo while searching for photographer that had experience photographing two dress weddings, a niche market we quickly figured out, and immediately fell in love. Her photos capture the moment and never feel overly posed, which won over my camera shy wife immediately. We did our engagement shoot on the streets of Salem and Danielle managed to capture the love we have for each other and made simple store fronts look like a Christmas wonderland without making the shoot feel like work. By the time we got to our wedding day, we had absolutely no concerns about her ability to capture the day as a single shooter and she definitely didn’t disappoint! She created the most perfect first look so we could take a moment together before the ceremony began, melted into the background and got a million candid photos of our night, set up the PERFECT photo flash dance to get some silly photos of our friend groups, and corralled our blended families for gorgeous group shots.

    Danielle from Salty Raven Studio has a communication style that is incredibly helpful, inclusive, and thoughtful, staying in contact and providing guidance throughout the process. Her work is emotive and creative, showcasing a wonderful technical skills that creates unique and memorable photos. She is very in tune with what people need and really puts people at ease while capturing amazing, natural photographs. I have always felt privileged to work with her and to be her colleague. I highly recommend Salty Raven Studio to any couple looking for talented, professional wedding photographers.

    We first met Danielle when she was the photographer at my cousin's wedding. It was such a small event it was impossible to not interact with Danielle and just admire her work. We immediately knew that we wanted to work with her. Fast forward to our own wedding planning, Danielle was so incredible in helping us prepare for the day. During our (very much impromptu) engagement photos, Danielle made it easy for us to just be ourselves...something that is not always easy to do when I prefer being behind the camera. Leading up to the big day, she encouraged us to make decisions that would keep us smiling throughout the day, gave us wonderful advice (which I still think about in my daily life), and really just made the entire experience easy. On the wedding day itself, Danielle became nothing short of a superhero. Somehow, she became the ring leader supreme, keeping us all on track with the agenda and maintaining the most friendly and professional composure. I've never seen anyone more effortlessly corral my large family faster while still laughing and having fun. And the pictures, they're perfect! My husband and I spent our 3-month anniversary looking through the full album, spending hours just reliving the day that memory made into a blur. Even our officiant (who is also a friend) stated that they made her cry all over again and how she could hear the laughter through the pictures. I cannot wait until the next time we have the opportunity to see and work with Danielle again.

    We hired Danielle to photograph our wedding after meeting her a couple of different times as she was photographing our friend’s weddings, feeling her energy and seeing the moments she captured beautifully for them. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to invest in photography with Danielle. She has felt like a friend to us since we first reached out to her about a year and a half before our wedding day. She hung out with us for a day in the woods in Concord, MA for our engagement session and was even up for running alongside us to take pictures as we rode our tandem bicycle. Her communication from first email to saying goodbye on wedding night was unmatched. We would be so happy to have an excuse work with her again and would enthusiastically recommend her to anyone we know. We are still awaiting our full wedding gallery (on schedule!), but all of the photos we have received so far are AMAZING. She captured our love, and the love of those around us, just as we’d hoped (and knew) she would.
