On behalf of the Innkeepers, we would like to congratulate you on your engagement. The Bull Run has been a Tavern for nearly three centuries and locally owned and operated by our family in Shirley for more than 80 years. We know that personalized service, attention to detail and our one-of-a-kind atmosphere will make this special time in your life memorable. Our philosophy is to offer you this historic setting with the most modern conveniences. The Bull Run is listed on the Massachusetts Register of Historic Places and we are a 3-star Green Certified Restaurant committed to sustainability. Shirley Meetinghouse and Town Hall
Welcome to the quintessential New England location for your wedding! The historic Meeting House sits on two open Commons in Shirley Center.
Built in 1773, The Shirley Meetinghouse is a classic New England setting for your wedding ceremony and photos. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this classic Colonial landmark has been fully restored and offers seating for up to 200 guests. The Meeting House is non-denominational and accommodates any type of ceremony. The Baby Grand Piano and Steven Tracker 1858 Organ may also be utilized. And be sure to ring the Meeting House Bell once the ceremony is completed!

Built in 1773, The Shirley Meetinghouse is a beautiful site for your wedding ceremony. With a special place on the National Register of Historic Places, this classic Colonial landmark has been recently refreshed and offers seating for up to 200 guests. The balcony is an excellent location for photographers to capture the day. Rental fee includes a full wedding rehearsal with additional time for decorating, access one hour prior to ceremony, wedding ceremony and a additional hour for photography.

Definitely has a very rustic feel. There is an old tavern, piano, separate function rooms, outdoor seating and a covered lighted bridge perfect for that special occasion picture. There is weekly entertainment and Trivia Night. The small dining room is cozy. The menu has something for everyone. Service was great. Portions are good size, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and service. The clam chowder was amazing and beats many seacoast establishments. The Mrs had the Seafood stuffed haddock and I the scallop risotto both very well prepared. Adam our server knows his job well and for that reason I know we will be back.

Came here for the first time today. Sunday brunch is absolutely delectable. I got the Mushroom Lover’s Omelette and my husband got the Strawberry Stuffed French Toast. For drinks we had the Espresso Pumpkintini, the Pumpkin Pie Spiked Iced Coffee, and the Maple Dark and Stormy. Everything was incredible and so full of flavor! The prices are reasonable and everything is locally sourced. It has been open since 1740, the atmosphere is perfect for a cozy meal or dinner at the bar, and the service is exemplary. Our server’s name was Buddy and he was the nicest person! Easily one of my top five servers of all time. They have concerts and trivia and a pianist with a restaurant wide sing-along. From what I understand, all of these are kid friendly and we are planning on bringing our two daughters (ages 10 & 14) to the sing-along this Friday. We’ve never been to it, but we are so excited! Definitely our new spot to go. P.S. the decor is worth the visit by itself

Best soups around! We stopped in for a light lunch. Our party of 3 ordered clam chowder and butternut squash bisque. Heavenly! Our server was super accommodating and friendly! Atmosphere is wonderful! Gorgeous facility! We plan on a return visit, for sure!!
