About this venue

The Historic Baker Building has been part of Downtown Lubbock since 1928, so when you celebrate here, you're adding your story to nearly a century of history. From 1940–1942, the building hosted USO dances, welcoming servicemen and the community to gather and dance. Today, couples still celebrate on those same historic hardwood floors. The Baker retains incredible original character, including its vintage tin ceilings and beautiful hardwood floors. We even still have two original chairs from 1928. Our wrap-around mezzanine overlooks the ballroom and is one of the building's most distinctive architectural features. Nearly 100 years after opening its doors, the Baker is still doing what it has done for generations: bringing people together to celebrate. Your wedding doesn't just happen in a historic building. It becomes another chapter in its history.

Our historic 1928 building is not fully ADA accessible. A ramp is available for entry into the venue, and our team is happy to discuss individual accessibility needs with couples and their guests before the event.
