Jay is the BEST. It was awesome how we had a fantastic DJ and a live musician. All of our guests were RAVING about the music. He totally got the vibe and ran with it. We opted for the electric violinist add on - WORTH EVERY PENNY. SO COOL. The violinist was also amazing and added to the experience tremendously. Jay is organized, easy to work with, and the perfect hype man. My one friend was so upset she got married first because she would've loved to have hired On The Beat FX for her day. Jay is worth every penny and I couldn't recommend him enough. For someone who is music-obsessed and gets disappointed by many "DJs", Jay is king and he will make your special day perfect.

The Hook Club was a perfect fit for our wedding! We were looking for a wedding band that would provide energy and excitement, and The Hook Club did just that. They played songs that got everyone up, dancing and singing along. They were also very flexible with the ceremony music—they let us request certain songs and even played a couple of songs they weren't planning on playing at all. We loved how they were able to adjust their set list based on the crowd's reactions. The Hook Club kept everyone happy throughout the night. We received multiple comments about how great they were—people said they felt like they could really connect with each other because of how much fun everyone was having listening to them play. I'm so glad we decided to have them perform at our wedding at the TWA.

Marcus Ho Dj

  • DJ

A 16-year veteran of the NYC club scene. I collaborate closely with couples to create their unique musical experiences for themselves and their guests by delivering a Sophisticated Savoire-Faire of seamlessly blended hits from past decades to what's currently in vogue; citing T-40 Dance, House, IndiePop/Rock, Nu-Disko, Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, Crossover Reggae and Crossover Latin as some of my favorites.

Awarded Best of Zola
Marcus was hired as our wedding DJ and we had the most terrific experience with him. He was professional, thoughtful, and very respectful. We had a pretty set idea on what kind of music we wanted to play for our guest (think dance, sing alongs, and a strict list of "Do Not Plays" which he was able to take and run with. He was extremely easy to trust, which we found to be very important early on in our wedding planning process. Every song he played that night had every single guest out their seat and on the dance just as we wished! Marcus timed our entire wedding to the second, and it ran extremely smooth. I simply can not say enough words about Marcus, but if you are considering him, he will not disappoint. Absolutely recommend!!!

Aria Melody

5.0

New York, NY
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,800

As homegrown, native NYC-based wedding DJs, we allow the music to speak for itself in a way that is organic and authentic. We keep things simple and straightforward so you can focus on the most important part of it all — marrying your partner, soulmate and best friend. What you won’t get? A stereotypical, cheesy DJ stealing the spotlight and breaking up the music with bad jokes and unnecessary interruptions. You deserve better. Expect a personal and individualized celebration with great music, precise attention to detail and a fun-filled dance party — all based on 15 years of wedding experience.

My husband and I were recently married in CT. Joe did both our ceremony and reception music. Joe was the best DJ we could have asked for! He played all of our "must play" songs and mixed them well with other hits. I didn't leave the dance floor! Our guests are still talking about the great music. Leading up to our wedding, Joe had excellent communication and was easy to work with. Highly recommend!

My goal for your event is straightforward: to create a musical atmosphere your guests will enjoy, in a tasteful way to conserve your excellent reputation. I look to do this by curating my family-friendly music library with all genres, removing instances or entire songs with profanity, vulgar descriptions, and offensive lyrics. I want you and your guests to feel comfortable for the entirety of the event, starting with the mood music that represents your style, whether you've chosen every song or have a few key picks you want me to build a playlist around.

Im going to start off by saying that I can be a little picky with music. HOWEVER, I knew that Kent was my guy when I was tasked to find a DJ for my wedding a little over 5 years ago. No regrets whatsoever! He brought together Dominican, Colombian, and American cultures seamlessly! He is a real pro at what he does. He’s an amazing producer as well and created a customized mix for us. He was extremely flexible and attentive to detail. He had our dance floor packed the whole time! Needless to say I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

It’s been almost a month since my wedding and all anyone can talk about (still!!!) is this band! They were fantastic, high energy, talented beyond measure and knew how to play to their audience. I’m so happy I found them. They were reasonable price compared to other bands we looked at also. Our manager, Hannah, was fantastic with coordination and hearing me out on all of my song requests. 12/10 would definitely contract with again!

What music packages are available for weddings in New York City?

Whether you want a string quartet to serenade your ceremony, a 12-piece band, or a DJ to drop beats until dawn, there's a package for every style and budget in New York City. The music package will vary depending on the group, number of performers, hours played, and more, so make sure to review all of the details in advance to ensure the soundtrack to your wedding plays without a hitch.

How do we coordinate our wedding timeline with the band or DJ in New York City?

Communication is key. Your band or DJ should be in sync with your wedding day schedule, hitting the right notes at the right moments. Discuss your timeline with them beforehand, and they'll make sure they play the right notes at exactly the right time - whether it’s your walk down the aisle or your favorite bangers at the end of the night.

Now, that’s a savvy question! In a city that never sleeps, some venues do still have bedtime rules. Fear not, because your wedding planner or venue contacts will be clued in on any noise ordinances. They’ll make sure the party's volume matches the vibe—without the need for noise-canceling headphones.

What equipment do bands and DJs in NYC provide, and what do we need to provide?

Most bands and DJs come loaded with their mixers, mics, and maybe some flashy lights. But it's a good idea to check if your venue is set up for sound or if it's BYOS—bring your own speakers. You might need to rent some equipment if you’re planning a party in a raw or less traditional event space.
