We took on a lot of planning ourselves, and hired Rina to be our day of coordinator--or really month of coordinator--and out of all of our planning decisions, hiring Rina was one of the best decisions we made. Ahead of our first call, we sent a long document outlining the ideas we had--which she looked through and gave us useful feedback on as we considered what support we needed most. We had some unique ideas for how to do things our own way--and it was also clear from our conversation, that while Rina knows how to do a "textbook" wedding--she also knows how to listen to clients to help them make their unique vision a reality, even if that requires some creative thinking, crafting, or problem solving. When we did our venue walkthrough a month before the event, we sent Rina another long document, floorplan, and schedule the day before--and she once again arrived familiar with all of it. She had crucial suggestions, important questions we hadn't thought of, and proved again she was the right person to help us get prepared for the big day. That pattern repeated once more at rehearsal which was very efficient! The day of our wedding, Rina was punctual, professional, and in expert control running the show we had put together. She had already connected with all of our vendors, reviewed all the decorations we designed and how they set up, and was fully familiar with the timeline. When the inevitable surprises popped up, she was quick to roll with the punches--in a way that kept our plans on track! The entire event was not just beautiful, unique, and exactly the vibe we had envisioned--but it was also EXACTLY ON SCHEDULE, from set up to the paper lantern send off at the end! We are thoroughly impressed, and can't recommend Rina highly enough! She was our not so secret weapon. Let her be yours too! And make no mistake, while we had Rina as our month-of-coordinator--we would have absolutely hired Rina to take on the entire thing if we hadn't enjoyed planning so much (and even then, we couldn't have finished the plans without her input!). I will also say, having planned so much ourselves, it really made it very personal to us that the schedule we made, the decorations we crafted, and the timeline we envisioned were faithfully executed. It was so personal, that I thought it would be hard to hand off our cherished plan to someone else. Who could know it as well as us or care as much? But every conversation with Rina made letting go easy, because it was so clear she was listening to us, and understanding us. There is no one else we would've trusted with our plan except Rina.

Every single person we interacted with was incredible, starting with Ja’el the owner, who was amazing from start to finish. She is warm, organized, thoughtful, and we felt see was genuinely invested in us. From our first conversation, we knew we were in great hands. Our day-of coordinators, Liz and Blair, were absolute stars. They just got us. Throughout the planning process, they provided steady guidance, answered every question, and—when we had concerns about potential issues with other vendors—gave us thoughtful, grounded advice and real encouragement. As we approached the wedding, Liz and Blair stepped in to manage the scheduling of the countless moving parts of our wedding day. They helped address issues before they became problems, and resolved most problems before they became crises. Their communication and stress management were unparalleled. They kept us informed whenever we needed to know something and shielded us from anything we didn’t need to be bothered with. I referred back to Blair’s meticulously documented recap emails from our planning meetings so many times during planning - no idea how anything would have gotten done without those! We always felt like they were firmly on our team. Their presence throughout those final weeks kept us calm and confident… despite the best attempts of some of our vendors and family! And then the wedding day itself… flawless. Truly flawless. They executed the day with precision, grace, and warmth. They handled countless details behind the scenes so seamlessly that we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment of our big day. At one point during dinner, I (the bride) leaned over to my mom to ask if she had floss because I had food stuck in my teeth, and before I could finish my sentence, Liz promptly whisked me away to a back room where I found myself suddenly in front of a mirror with a toothpick in hand! The level of support and preparation during the pre-wedding stages was above and beyond what we ever expected. Our families and friends are still raving about how fantastic they were on the day-of. We also decided to add on content creation with Teri late in the process, and we are SO glad we did. She was amazing—funny, kind, unobtrusive, and everywhere at once without ever feeling like a camera was in our faces. A couple of days after the wedding, we received our raw video dump, and it is worth every single penny. I’ve spent hours reliving the day through all the behind-the-scenes moments she captured with our guests, family, and wedding party. She didn’t miss a thing. We can’t wait to see the short-form content she creates, but honestly, the raw footage alone already exceeded our hopes. We are genuinely obsessed with this team. From the moment my now husband and I met Meghan we knew we wanted her to be our wedding coordinator. Meghan gave us a tour of the venue we ended up choosing and her enthusiasm, authenticity, and confidence not only sold us on the gorgeous venue but on her as well. I cannot express enough how personable, funny, and kind Meghan is which makes trusting her with your special day an easy task. Leading up to the wedding Meghan was so gracious answering all of my many questions and being supportive in any way she could. All the paperwork she sends gave me amazing guidelines on everything from choosing vendors to tipping. I can genuinely say I would not have had as much fun at my wedding as I did without her. In the weeks/days leading up to the wedding Meghan organized ALL my vendors flawlessly to ensure they were on the same page and knew their roles for the day of. The day of execution of all vendors setting up went flawlessly and Meghan setup all my decor and centerpieces beautifully. It is truly a talent to bring someone else’s vision to life and that is exactly what she did. Not to mention she was checking in on me and my husband throughout to make sure we had eaten, had drinks, and that we were doing okay! She also helped me with changing out of my dress later in the night! I can honestly say Meghan was the BEST decision I ever made. She really is just an awesome person and excels at her job because she truly wants to make your wedding special. So many of my guests came up to me to express how impressed they were with Meghan and that they wish they had someone like her at their wedding. We had our wedding in June this year and we can confidently say it would not have happened without Shaymah Ansari Weddings! Mari is IT. My husband and I met with a handful of coordinators who all seemed qualified and capable, but none that seemed to vibe with our energy UNTIL we met Mari! Right away she was calming and tuned in and warm. She felt like someone we would hang out with but then make that person an organizational wizard.As first time wedders, who had never imagined a specific wedding day aesthetic or theme, we would frequently worry this whole thing might not come together. But IT DID under Mari's expert guidance! We’ve said it many times during the wedding planning process and we’ll continue to shout it to the hills: hiring Kristy and her team was the best decision we’ve ever made and the best money we’ve ever spent. From the consultation and throughout the entire process Kristy was lovely to work with and incredibly friendly and personal but also always on top of everything. She flagged so many little details that we never would have thought of but led to a much smoother wedding day. Her detailed resources, templates, and documents were invaluable, but she was also flexible when I needed to make my own spreadsheets to keep everything straight in a way that worked with my brain. The timeline she created for us was a work of art and a thing of beauty and something I could have never done on my own. She included every single facet of the event from load in and load out for every vendor down to when we needed to bring our checkbook. Handing communications with vendors to her team in the last few months was amazing and definitely reduced our stress levels. While the timeline was delayed (due to another vendor), Kristy pivoted quickly and ensured that things got back on track and as close to the plan as possible. When we changed our mind on things mid-wedding (like if we wanted a more formal send off) she ensured that it was actually what we wanted but then changed to accommodate it. She also organized tear down of all the decor so that all we had to do was show up the morning after to pick up our belongings. As a queer couple, one of whom is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, Kristy and her team made us feel welcomed and affirmed for the entire process while vetting vendors to make sure they were LGBT friendly and listing our (and our wedding party’s) pronouns on resource sheets so that the whole vendor team was aware and misgendering was as limited as possible (and never by Kristy or her team). She (or a team member?) also recommended many amazing vendors to us including our amazing DJ who had the exact vibe we wanted (gay pop dance party) and ensured the dance floor was full and everyone loved the music choices. Kristy led our rehearsal like a (very nice) drill sergeant, which made it so much more efficient and effective than others I’ve been a part of. The ceremony went off without any major hitches and everyone (including 13 wedding party members, both of our parents, our officiant, and us) knew where they needed to be and when to do what. I was incredibly impressed and super grateful. It also ensured that I didn’t need to think or worry about the little details like making sure seats were reserved and that people started walking at the right time. My only regret is that we didn’t have the budget to have her team plan our rehearsal dinner as well. That experience versus the day of the wedding was a huge contrast. On the day of, I could answer every question with “ask Kristy” and she would always have the answer. As a very anxious and “type A” person I fully trusted Kristy and her team throughout the process which was wonderful for my sanity. I was able to offload all the thinking and logistics onto her and her team and be much more present at my wedding with my now wife and friends and family. Photos by Abby Carissimo.

We knew instantly after our initial phone call that Michelle was going to be an essential vendor for our wedding. At first, we looked at a coordinator as insurance in case something happened, but she was so much more than that - she made sure we weren't missing anything in our plans, that our vendors were in the loop, and that our day was as perfect as possible. Michelle was a dream to work with; she made us feel so calm and prepared. Her communication was prompt, proactive, and encouraging (which I desperately needed towards the final weeks). I am sure something went wrong behind the scenes, but to this day, I couldn't tell you what because Michelle handled everything. I was a big DIY bride and wasn't sure if I needed a coordinator, but I am so glad we had her there in the weeks leading up to the wedding. From final walk-throughs to creating our schedule to guiding the rehearsal to execution on the day, her work allowed us to be fully present with our guests and not worry about the logistics. Hands down one of the best decisions I made for my wedding two weeks ago. I worked with Christina from O’Neil Events and she was truly exceptional. My family, friends, my husband, and I are still talking about how resourceful, thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely caring she is. There really aren’t enough words to capture the magic she brought to our day. I booked partial planning about six weeks before the wedding, and to be honest, I was overwhelmed with last-minute guest changes and all the small details. Christina and her assistant stepped in seamlessly and took over in the best way. They coordinated everything, helped set up and pack up all of our items, checked in on my family, kept everything organized, and made sure the entire day flowed effortlessly. The weather was beautiful but incredibly windy, and as I was walking down the aisle, my veil actually flew off. I felt so vulnerable in that moment, and Christina calmly caught it and gently placed it back on me without missing a beat. It was such a small gesture, but it meant everything. Later in the day, she even helped me with my feet when my heels were killing me. I’m honestly a little embarrassed she had to do that, but it just speaks to how kind, quick-thinking, and genuinely caring she is. A true lifesaver. Everyone still can’t stop talking about how amazing the wedding was. Some of my family and friends had previously had bad experiences with wedding planners, but Christina completely changed their perspective. Courtney review Courtney was the coordinator for our Sunday afternoon wedding at Patterson Mansion in Dupont Circle. From the moment we met, her joyful energy exuded from her and I knew that she would do everything she could to ensure we felt the same way. And she way over delivered! Courtney was organized and extremely communicative with us and our vendors. She had a clear sequence of agenda items for our check ins and was always on time and prepared. This was all wonderful and set a strong foundation for the day of. Courtney truly went above and beyond on wedding day. She set up the room more beautifully than I ever could have hoped for and brought tears to my eyes. She handled unexpected guests with calm and poise and ensured everyone had a place to be and a meal to eat. I’m sure many brides understand that I was about to lose my mind, but Courtney just had it. Diane was easily the best decision I made for my wedding. From the very beginning she had lots of helpful planning documents, answered every question I had, gave us ideas when we couldn't figure out how or when we wanted something to happen for our special day, stayed over time on our planning / check in calls to make sure we felt that we covered everything, and did all of this with a smile and supportive, kind attitude. You're going to spend a lot of time with your wedding planner / coordinator, so it's important that they're a good person and you like them! Well Diane is a gem of a human being, and I really do feel like I made a forever friend in her. Throughout the planning process and on the day, there were times when I just needed emotional support, and she was there for me. Her communication is prompt, consistent, and thorough. She got back to me on every email in a timely manner with all the answers I needed. I didn't realize at the time but strong communication was probably the MOST important aspect that made working with vendors 1000x better, and Diane excelled at it. Additionally, in the lead up to my wedding day and on the day itself, Diane was on top of EVERY detail. She went above and beyond to make sure that everything was PERFECT - just as I always dreamed it would be. From helping me iron my wedding dress while my bridesmaids and I were getting our makeup done to overseeing every vendor arrival and setup to making sure transitions from each part of the day were smooth - she did it all. No detail was too small for her, and because she's a total professional, she thought of everything! I cannot say enough good things about Diane, her abilities as a planner, and her warmth as a person. She will be the best decision that you make for your wedding, too.
