Dan Ross

Brooklyn, NY
  • DJ
  • Starts at $2,950

Hi, I’m Dan Ross — a NYC-based DJ with over a decade of experience bringing unforgettable energy to weddings, private events, and dance floors across the city. From your first dance to your final send-off, I’ll work with you to craft a soundtrack that feels like you — blending hip-hop, pop, reggaeton, R&B, afrobeats, house, and more to keep the energy flowing and the dance floor full. Whether I’m DJing or MCing, my focus is always on creating a seamless experience your guests will remember long after the night ends.

Dan was absolutely amazing as the DJ for our wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in 2026! He struck such a great balance between being organized, professional, and genuinely fun to work with. From the beginning, we felt confident that he understood the kind of night we wanted. Our music taste was all over the map — traditional Chinese music, ’90s emo, K-pop, country, and classic wedding dance floor staples — and Dan somehow made it all feel cohesive. He took our requests seriously, read the room beautifully, and kept the dance floor packed right up until the end of the night. He was also an excellent MC and audio professional. He helped us with some custom audio requests during the ceremony, we had no issues with mics or sound at all (I was worried) and during the reception, he kept the timeline moving, made announcements at the right moments, communicated well with our planner, and brought the perfect amount of energy without taking over the spotlight. As a stressed out, perfectionist bride, I had no worries with Dan. We could not have asked for a better DJ!

11/10! Absolutely use Non-Traditional Wedding DJs! We had the absolute best experience working with DJ Nico Rojo and owner Ben Boylan at Non-Traditional Wedding DJs. My wife and I got married in October 2025 at Farm to People in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Music is very important to me and I cared a lot about our choice of DJ, and consequently met with a lot of different DJ services. It was immediately clear that NT DJs would be our choice once I met with them. Nico and Ben both convey high levels of competence and professionalism while retaining the feeling of a business owned and operated by real people, and importantly real people who genuinely care about your wedding and experience. When I think wedding DJ, my mind, and I think many people's, first goes to "what music is being played during the reception when everyone is on the dance floor?" You'll actually work with your DJ for way more than that - ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and maybe more depending on your special day. Nico was not only great at that first, narrow idea of a DJ, but he was consistently awesome for every part of our wedding day. Whether he was determining what part of the evening music should be played, mixing and sequencing, or picking music that 'rhymed' with the rest of our selections, I felt very comfortable and at ease knowing he would crush it (and he did). Importantly, we are low-key and understated people and wanted our DJ to reflect that - we wanted to skip the common DJ-as-Hypeman setup that usually includes yelling into the microphone for folks to "get out on the dancefloor." Nico worked with us to understand how we wanted announcements and intro's to go and was happy to customize to our preferences. Everything was so smooth. We were able to think about all the other facets of planning a wedding while working with Nico & Ben!

We had DJ Zach Kerns at our wedding and he was absolutely INCREDIBLE! The dance floor was packed all night and we got tons of compliments on him!!! I am a bit of a self proclaimed ‘music snob’ and I had a LOT on my ‘do not play’ list and a LOT of silly details about how I wanted music to be played lol!!! My list of music requests was obnoxiously long and could probably have filled up like 5 whole weddings xD Zach was literally so kind, understanding, patient with me and took all of my insane requests into consideration - and was able to navigate my excel sheet of like 18384746627281 songs with ease!!! I couldn’t have imagined the night going any better than it did. He did a perfect job.

We got married at Diety a couple months ago but we actually found Deity two years prior to that when I stumbled upon this venue online. Originally we were not even searching for a venue in new york city but when we found Deity - I thought, this is too good to be true and booked a viewing immediately. We were immediately impressed with not only the gorgeous venue but their all in one package, and the flexibility and kindness we received on our initial viewing made us confident we found the right place. Throughout the wedding process Caio always answered my questions and were so open to all our ideas and remained flexible to help us execute a unique and special day. On the day of the wedding and leading up we had the pleasure of working with Anastasia who helped execute everything for us. The day ran so smoothly and Anastasia did not miss a beat - she not only ran the entire show, she always made sure we were taken care of and she quickly became a close friend we trusted that night. The chef James executed a special all vegan menu for us and both us and our guests raved about the food and we are still being told our delicious the vegan meatballs were! The bartenders and servers were also all amazing, the drinks were amazing and the service was quick. The DJ also killed it and was able to keep everyone on the dance floor all night and also went above and beyond with our song requests for the day. We are so beyond happy we got married at Deity and could have not found a better venue that cared so much, was filled with so much detail and care and had the best employees working for them who made it all possible.

I truly don’t have enough words to express how incredible Caroline was as our wedding coordinator. From the moment we started working with her, she brought a sense of calm, confidence, and joy that we didn’t even know we needed. She asked thoughtful questions and raised important considerations in the lead-up to the wedding—things we never would have thought of ourselves. Caroline went above and beyond by personally reaching out to every single one of our vendors ahead of time. She made sure she had a point of contact and verified all the details so that nothing slipped through the cracks. That level of preparation gave us so much peace of mind. On the big day, Caroline was everything and more. She was calm, collected, and full of life. She seamlessly managed every detail while keeping the energy light and fun. She vibed effortlessly with our families (which was no small feat—our crew is chaotic), and somehow made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Things definitely went wrong behind the scenes—because that’s just how weddings go—but I, the bride, never heard a single thing about it. That’s the magic of Caroline. My husband and I had drinks in hand at all times, and every single moment we had planned happened on time, correctly, and seamlessly. It was like watching our vision come to life without lifting a finger. We did not deserve her. She was truly priceless. If you’re lucky enough to have Caroline on your team, know that you’re in the best hands possible. We could not have asked for anything better.

I am a queer, New York City-based photographer documenting candid joy and human connection. Drawn to emotion and the beauty in everyday moments, I approach my work with mindfulness and intuition – balancing gentle guidance with an observational presence. What I value most about my job is the ability to connect with people and witness their stories unfold in raw, vulnerable ways. I hope that my work is a reflection of these moments: honest, emotive, and intentionally seen.

Awarded Best of Zola
There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing Emma is! You can put so much effort into planning your wedding but having a photographer who truly gets you and your vision is what makes it all last forever. We knew exactly what we dreamed of in the person who would capture our day and met with many incredible people, but when we met with Emma everything felt so right and came together instantly. Her vision and style were so perfectly aligned with ours and she was careful to take into account everything we asked for. She went above and beyond in a way we couldn’t have dreamed of going in and I was particularly impressed with how she kept track of our day and worked seamlessly with all of our other vendors! Our photos were beyond our dreams and she captured every detail, even moments between friends and family we didn’t get to witness, beautifully. I can’t recommend Emma enough, she is amazing

In addition to providing DJ services & sound equipment, Kevin will provide MC services, making any announcements and introductions throughout your reception.

Kevin is AMAZING!!! He DJed our wedding celebration in May 2024, and WOW - he was 100000% our dream DJ. We had eloped a year earlier, so our "vision" for the night was to have an epic dance party with all of our friends - Kevin understood this immediately, and delivered truly beyond our wildest imagination! He kept the vibes moving during cocktail hour, and then seriously BROUGHT THE PARTY. The dancefloor was packed for over 3 hours straight. It felt like every single person there asked us where we had found our DJ, and they couldn't believe the mixes he was doing on the fly!! From the moment I first reached out to him in January right up until the end of the event, Kevin was consistently professional, upbeat, and efficient. He replied to all communication quickly, and was SO thoughtful in his preparation. He provided a shared document months ahead of time so that we could share music and scheduling info, and on the night of the event it was so evident that he had paid attention to every single detail ever mentioned in the document, over Zoom, or on our site visit. Every single must-play song came on at the perfect time, he managed to source very specific remixes that I had mentioned, and he kept the night running on schedule with such a chill, stress-free, and adaptable vibe. Kevin even introduced us to his colleague Richie for dance lights when we were debating our lighting options, which also ended up being absolutely perfect! I cannot stress enough how collaborative and understanding Kevin is, how smooth the process was, and most importantly - what a KILLER DJ he is. He truly wants to deliver the night of your dreams. My heart felt like it was going to explode in the best way multiple times that night, because of all the incredible, better-than-you-could-ever-have-imagined dancefloor moments. I wish we had an excuse to do it all over again, I would work with Kevin again in a heartbeat!!!

I have been a photographer for the last 20 years, shooting weddings, elopements and portraits. I'm proud to have shot more than 150 same-sex weddings, which is probably more than, well, just about anyone. That said, I’ve worked with as many straight couples as LGBTQ ones. I don't discriminate. There are many other photographers whose work inspire me, but my primary inspiration comes from painters. Rembrandt, Vermeer, Sargent, to name a few.

Steven photographed our wedding and prepared photos and an album for us. His work throughout was excellent, from input on a schedule for photos during the event, to posing the family and guests, suggesting positive changes to some steps of the ceremony, capturing great moments, keeping the day on track, and working with us on the album. His layout and editing for the album were terrific, very professional, attentive to themes and telling the story through images, and with a great eye for combinations. We recommend Steven without hesitation for your special days!

Her fine art background informs her creative & personal approach to photographing weddings. She brings fresh eyes & ears to every couple she meets, focusing on what truly matters to them, to ensure her clients’ priorities & personalities shine through in their photos.

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot recommend Bailey enough! From the moment we booked her, she was communicative, patient, and genuinely excited about our wedding. Her warmth and professionalism made us confident we'd made the right choice. One of the best decisions we made was also having Bailey cover our welcome party the night before the wedding. She captured the relaxed, joyful energy of our friends and family gathering for cocktails and an open mic on the deck at our venue. By the time our wedding day arrived, Bailey already felt like part of the group: a trusted friend rather than just a vendor. This made such a difference, especially since we're both pretty camera-shy and were nervous about feeling awkward or stiff in front of the camera. Bailey completely put us at ease. She has a gift for making you forget you're even being photographed. Her approach is so calm and unobtrusive that we could just be ourselves and enjoy our day. Bailey was incredibly patient with our large family during portraits, managing group shots with grace and efficiency while keeping everyone relaxed and happy. She has a real talent for making the photo-taking process feel natural and easy. The photos themselves are absolutely stunning. The ceremony shots in particular—the sunlight is captured exactly as I remember experiencing it in the moment, which is such a gift. Every image feels warm, authentic, and true to the vibe we wanted: natural, fun, and full of life. Bailey didn't just document our wedding, she captured the feeling of it. Now that our wedding is over, we can say with complete certainty that the photos were worth every penny of the investment. We love reliving the day through her work, and we know these images will be treasured for years to come. If you want a photographer who will blend seamlessly into your celebration, put your families at ease, and deliver beautiful, candid photos that feel like you, book Bailey immediately.

Jillicious Foods is an all-in-one catering and event company dedicated to creating inspired, authentic wedding, social and corporate experiences. For us, every client represents a unique opportunity to tell a new and delicious story. Chef Jill has been telling these stories for nearly three decades. We work in a variety of cuisines, from New American to Cajun to Southeast Asian; accommodate all diets, including gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian; and are proud to partner with local farms and purveyors throughout the Hudson Valley and New York City.

Jill truly is THAT girl! From her keen eye for detail to incredible patience and personalization, from the start we knew our experience was going to be top notch. Jill worked with us to create a menu that spoke to all of our childhood favorites and tastes from home that had all of our guests watering at at the mouth, and some even bonding over what some of the dishes meant to us and our families. As a Miami native and Italian American (respectively), we wanted the food to touch on our love of Latin and Italian food, which Jill touched on perfectly (especially with the meatballs and empanadas!). From day 1, Jill was truly Team Shelby and Jordan, and for that we could not be more grateful.

No one has partied so hard inside a church hall as much as we did thanks to Xenia! When I mean everyone was always on the dancefloor I mean EVERYONE, all ages! People danced so hard at our wedding they were too tired to dance at our after party. She transitioned between songs seamlessly and timed the right songs perfectly. Working with Xenia has been a breeze with very low time commitment. One thing to note is that her usual style is more laid back. If you want a loud MC with lots of forceful energy maybe look elsewhere but she worked perfectly for our low key, DJ-centered needs. 10/10 would recommend her services!

What started as a hobby led me to launch my business as a freelance makeup artist three years ago and I’ve since been certified by Lauren D’amelio, Kryolan Cosmetics and twelve international artists from The Makeup Lovers Conference. I also work with editorial clients creating daring yet on brand looks. I have an upcoming project to execute the makeup vision for an ad campaign in Times Square for ShopYahaira Shapewear. Make sure to look out for it!

Maria Pennacchi Makeup was an absolute pleasure to work with for my daughter's wedding day. Maria was very quick in responding to any questions that we had and was accommodating to making sure she gave us enough time to work with us that morning. She is so easy to talk to and listened when you wanted to add or change something. Maria's quality of work was outstanding - she applied our makeup very naturally and lighter so that there was room for changes. The makeup lasted throughout the entire day and wedding, and Maria made us look extra special. As an extremely experienced makeup artist, she really listens to what you want to look like for your special day. Maria made this experience with getting our makeup done a joyful one.

Brooklyn, NY
  • Florist
  • Starts at $700

Hi, I’m Alina, the florist behind Forge Florals. With 10 years of floral design experience—over 4 of them dedicated to weddings—I bring a strong creative eye and a deep passion for every arrangement I create. Originally trained in Russia, I combine European floral artistry with a clean, modern NYC style. I love working closely with couples to make their floral vision come alive and to create designs that feel personal, elegant, and unforgettable.

From the moment I received the bouquet, I was honestly speechless. The arrangement was beyond beautiful — every detail was thoughtfully designed, and the flowers were incredibly fresh and vibrant. Her talent and professionalism truly shine through in every piece she creates. This is definitely not my first time ordering from her, and it certainly won’t be my last. She consistently amazes me with something even more stunning each time. Whenever she says she has done her very best, I’m always surprised to find that she still manages to exceed it. Just when I think it can’t get any better, she proves me wrong in the most beautiful way. Her creativity, elegance, and attention to detail are unmatched. If you’re looking for someone who turns flowers into art, she is the one. Highly, highly recommended!

The Cool Rulers
Rating: 5.0 (36 reviews)
Brooklyn, NY
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $6,000

Meet The Cool Rulers! A youthful, professional and world class dance band collective from Brooklyn, NY specializing in Motown, soul, funk, disco and more. Our videos and reviews speak for themselves. Made up of real friends with real musical chemistry and a true love and passion for the songs that we play, The Cool Rulers cater to clients seeking an alternative to your typical flashy top 40 event bands.

Awarded Best of Zola
How to begin to sing the praises of the best band there is? We’ll start with unsolicited reviews from our friends: “Would you be offended if I use your same band for my wedding? I feel like anything else would be a let down.” “What’s your band name? I have to follow them on Instagram.” “Pretty sure that was the best band I’ve seen in 20 years of weddings.” We had our wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse, and by 20 minutes into the first set the band had amassed a crowd of passers-by who stopped to watch and listen from a nearby bridge and stayed all evening long. Logistically, The Cool Rulers made life easy. We had a number of special requests for our wedding and The Cool Rulers approved them without hesitation and executed them flawlessly. This included learning 3 new songs, one of which was to be sung by 2 of our friends. Charles & Co coordinated with our friends to send them a demo and arrange time for a quick rehearsal, all of which culminated in a “performance” that seemed as if it had been rehearsed for months. The even accommodated a specific request for how they were set up, leaving us an aisle to walk down and filling it in during a short break later in the evening. The Cool Rulers are immeasurably talented, and the perfect complement to that talent is their ability to set the tone, ride the energy, and deliver an absolutely perfect evening of music and dancing. We could not be happier and could not recommend them more highly. A

Brooklyn Winery was the first venue that we looked at and we immediately knew that it was the perfect fit for us. The space is absolutely beautiful and has the perfect layout for a wedding. The greenery wall was the perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony. We also loved the skylights and all of the fun lighting fixtures throughout the space, which made for such a cozy and intimate atmosphere. We also had wonderful interactions with every single person that we worked with at Brooklyn Winery. Our first conversation and venue tour with Tatiana was extremely informative and helped to answer all of the questions that we had. This made us feel comfortable in our decision to choose Brooklyn Winery for our wedding. We got to meet more of the venue staff during our tasting and all of them were so kind to us. Everyone came over to introduce themselves and get to know us. We had dinner at the restaurant after our final walkthrough and were able to see some of the venue staff from the tasting, who remembered us and happily accommodated our dietary restrictions. And most importantly, we absolutely LOVED working with our Event Manager, Marissa Allain! Marissa was incredibly helpful in the months leading up to the wedding, providing quick responses to all of our questions. She kept us organized and thought through every little detail so that everything would run smoothly on the day of the wedding. Marissa helped us feel at ease throughout the whole process of wedding planning. She was so warm, genuine, and thoughtful and we feel so lucky to have had her as our event manager. We don’t know how we could have done it without her. The food was also a highlight of having a wedding at Brooklyn Winery. We had several guests with food allergies / dietary restrictions including dairy free, gluten free, pescatarian, vegetarian, and more. Brooklyn Winery was able to help us modify the dishes that selected to accommodate all of these dietary restrictions and make sure that there would be something for everybody to enjoy. And the food was delicious! We were blown away at how good it was and received countless compliments from friends and family. Thank you to the Brooklyn Winery team for helping us have a beautiful wedding that we will remember for the rest of our lives :)!

Living in Brooklyn, we looked into numerous venues both in and just outside of the city, and found ourselves stuck when it came to inclusivity (we had a 170 person guest list), classiness (think out of down relative declaring "what a lovely venue"), and affordability - it seemed you could satisfy two, but never all three - then we found Farm to People! From the moment we reached out, Rachel's communication was responsive, thorough, and personal. Over the planning process, our wedding morphed and our list of priorities expanded, and Rachel expertly accommodated each new request. We always felt heard and valued, and forged a friendship while we planned the event together that made the final event all the more special! Farm to People was so much more than just the place we had our event - it shaped the entire vibe, and our guests LOVED it. From the start of our search, our priorities were food, drinks, and dancing, and Farm to People far exceeded our high bar for all three. Among the many rave reviews of the food, a friend told me it was not only the best wedding food she'd had but the best meal she'd ever had! We really could not have asked for a better venue, and Farm to People will always hold a special place in our hearts 3

Where to even begin! First off, my wife and I had a fairly large wedding for NYC, roughly 200 people, so when we started to look at venues, we were so nervous about what we would find. Rule of Thids was actually the first venue we saw, and we were blown away by the space. If you’re renting out the full venue, you get access to the entire restaurant, plus the event space, as well as the outdoor area. It makes the flow of the wedding so nice, so everyone wasn’t crammed into one space as they were trying to flip it for the ceremony, dinner, and dancing. We were also able to rent out the photo studio attached to the sake shop to get ready in, so we were on-site all day, which was AMAZING. We could easily discuss things with our day-of coordinator, florist, etc., and the space was so large and had impeccable light (our makeup artist and hair stylist were super happy with it!). We chose to use the venue coordinator, Julie, as our day of coordinator, and we cannot say enough good things about her. She was incredibly responsive, super organized, and comes from the wedding industry, so she brought up things that we didn’t even think to consider for the day of that were so helpful. Beyond that, she was so pleasant to work with and just had an amazing, chill vibe that everyone wants from their coordinator on the wedding day. It was also amazing that she works at the venue, so she knew all the ins and outs of the space and could easily coordinate with our other vendors. She helped ensure the bridal party was in the right places at the right time, moved people from room to room when needed, and helped us stay on track with the flow of the wedding, which was perfect and so seamless. She and the ROT team set up the entire space exactly as we envisioned, and everything looked beautiful! The venue is honestly perfect for a wedding. We were able to use private dining spaces in the venue for a photobooth and coat closet, plenty of bathrooms (not something you think about until you go to a wedding with too few!), an amazing outdoor space for guests to cool down/get away from the noise, a huge dance floor area, spacious dining room, and so many bars for our guests to go to. The staff were all amazing, endlessly refilling drinks and food, and everyone was incredibly nice. Even after all of the amazing things above, the best part about Rule of Thirds is the food. From the cocktail hour to the dessert, this food is amazing and well beyond typical wedding standards. We had so many guests tell us how good everything was, and we were told this was the first wedding at the venue where every single canape and raw bar item was eaten, so our guests were very happy! (if you can, splurge on the raw bar because it was so good!!) After the ceremony, they set up a spot for us to sample all the canapes and raw bar items, which we were super thankful for since we would never have eaten anything otherwise. We also had a very specific request for a mazeman noodle dish we had eaten when we toured the space a year prior, and the chef and team made it happen for us, which was AMAZING and so incredibly delicious. If you’re looking for a wedding venue and considering Rule of Thirds, DO IT! We wish we could relive the day all over again because it was so amazing, and we will forever be hoping someone else we know gets married here so we can experience something similar again.
