Housed in the original Gatehouses to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, our bar & tasting room is a beautiful and intimate venue for a couple looking for a space whose bold and independent spirit matches their own. Kings County Distillery is New York City’s premier craft distillery and among the most acclaimed small distilleries in the United States. Focused exclusively on whiskeys, Kings County has made a name for its Bourbon, Peated Bourbon, Empire Rye and other creative whiskeys. We only distill whiskey for our label and we never sell whiskey made from any other source.

Kings County Distillery's designated private event space is as charming and rustic as our bar, just a little smaller! The North Gatehouse is perfect for smaller, more intimate gatherings and includes access to our sunken garden.

The South Gatehouse

Drink whiskey in a castle!

The South Gatehouse serves as our main tasting room and cocktail bar. This carefully curated room is suited for larger functions like wedding receptions, product launches, and corporate events. In addition to the beautiful interior of our tasting room, the South Gatehouse boasts a sizeable outdoor patio complete with an outdoor bar for the warmer seasons. This space can accommodate 90 for a seated dinner and up to 130 for a standing cocktail reception.

    Kings County Distillery was the perfect venue for our small, intimate wedding of around 50 guests. From the start, the team was straightforward and easy to work with, guiding us through the planning process with professionalism and care. On the day of, their staff and bartenders were amazing, providing excellent service and helping to coordinate all the little details that made our celebration so special. The vintage charm and warm, cozy atmosphere of the space, including the beautiful backyard area, created such a wonderful ambiance for our guests to enjoy. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to host our wedding - Kings County Distillery truly helped make our day one we'll never forget.

    We planned our wedding with Aline and Melissa and everything was perfect. They even worked with us to make sure our timing and lighting would be great in the barrel room for our ceremony. Both Aline and Melissa helped us figure out vendors (including porta potty!) that would work for the space. The space itself is perfect- gorgeous historical castle! Bourbon barrel room? So dreamy and exactly what we wanted to celebrate our marriage, and our time in brooklyn. We had friends go over earlier to help the KCD team set up. Everyone was so helpful and understood what we wanted for our wedding day. The entire team was responsive, helpful, and cared about our plans. Due to some of the liquor laws the distillery works within, Melissa helped us find the perfect beer and wine. We did a cocktail testing before the event to decide on what we’d serve. Anything we would have picked would have been awesome - but we decided on a strawberry bourbon smash and the old fashion. The bar tenders were amazing. Our day was so perfect, and the staff really made it possible. I want to do the same wedding again and again.
