Two Upper West Siders. Twenty blocks apart. How had we not crossed paths before? Or did we? Well, after finally matching on Hinge we made that happen and the rest is history! We have combined families and now as a family of 7 (three dogs, two cats) we have become an unstoppable force. We both share the same passion for photography, capturing the beauty all around us and making magic happen. Our dog Lucy, embodies love, kindness and poise. We couldn’t imagine naming our business after anyone but her. That’s how Love, Lucy Photography came to be.

    I recently had the pleasure of working with Bethany and Raquel as my wedding photographers, and I cannot speak highly enough of their talent and professionalism. From the moment we met them, they put us at ease with their warm and friendly demeanor, and we knew we were in good hands. On our wedding day, they arrived early and worked tirelessly throughout the day to capture every special moment, from getting ready to the ceremony to the reception. They were unobtrusive and respectful, but also knew how to direct us and our guests to get the best shots. When we received the photos, we were absolutely blown away. The quality of their work is simply stunning, and they managed to capture so many beautiful and candid moments that we will treasure forever. The attention to detail and eye for composition are truly exceptional, and we have received so many compliments on our photos from friends and family. Overall, I cannot recommend Bethany and Raquel enough. They are true professionals who are passionate about their craft, and it shows in the amazing work they produce. If you're looking for a talented and dedicated wedding photographer team who will capture all the special moments of your big day, Raquel and Bethany are the perfect choice.     Not only are they both lovers of Taylor Swift (so am I so we had lots to chat about!) Bethany and Raquel are phenomenal photographers/people in general and you shouldn’t hesitate to book them. I’ve recommended them to basically everyone I know getting married or has even the most distant of plans to get married. They go above and beyond the basic responsibilities of photographers and genuinely love documenting love. I hope to book them for literally anything in the future. They were the very first vendor we booked in our entire wedding planning process and set the bar waaaay too high for everyone else. They were one of the few vendors we reached out to that did an initial Zoom consultation. I think based on rom-coms I had this crazy idea in my head that wedding planning was done through in-person appointments, but I quickly learned most is done through emails and phone calls making it all feel a little impersonal. Our first meeting with Bethany and Raquel was amazing and it felt like they were actually invested in learning about us as a couple (they definitely were!) and the type of photography experience/style we were looking for. Their kind and thoughtful personalities led us to book them for our engagement shoot and wedding straight away. They definitely can meet you at whatever level of crazy you’re currently running at. For example, for our engagement shoot I had made a whole powerpoint of the types of shots I wanted as well as potential outfits. I did a complete 180 by the wedding and I told them I trusted their artistic vision completely and had no shot list other than the groupings for formal portraits. The photographs came in while we were on our honeymoon and we were blown away by the gallery. Everything was beautifully photographed, edited, and curated. On the wedding day my husband and I were excited for our first look partially because we got to see each other, but also because it was a hang sesh with both of them (lol!). They are wonderful people who put you at ease whenever you chat with them and become your genuine lifelong friends along the way. Many guests complimented their work style in which they weren't intrusive during the ceremony, but were constantly snapping both candid and posed photos. We didn’t want our wedding to feel merely like a spectacle –we wanted it to be a gathering of all our loved ones, so Bethany and Raquel's candid style was a perfect match for us.

    Bethany and Raquel are a phenomenal photographer team and we loved working with them for our wedding. They were easy to work with both in preparation for the big day, and on the day itself. They have a special eye that captures moments perfectly, and ties them together to make you feel like you’re watching the day on film (yet it’s all ‘still’ photos). They are artists and masters of their craft. I’m honored and grateful we had the chance to work with both of them. In addition to all of the above, they delivered our photos in a very fast amount of time. We really appreciated that. We opted to purchase an album from them which was an investment we would make over and over again. While they let us help with the design, they truly know best. In my opinion you do not need a videographer if you invest in the right photographer. Bethany and Raquel are THOSE photographers.

    Bethany and Raquel are artists of the finest caliber and they will deliver above and beyond your expectations. I cannot stress this to you enough: Book them immediately! They excel at both pieces of the wedding photographer's role: the experience of having them photograph the event, and the photos they deliver at the end. On your wedding day: They of course will follow your requested shoot list, portraits of family, and whatever else you want to prioritize for your wedding day. *But the real magic they deliver is that everyone forgets they are there.* Your family doesn't feel like they're being stalked by paparazzi or in a never ending staged photo shoot. I don't know how they do it, they didn't meet anyone in my family before our wedding, but every photo they delivered was an authentic reflection of that person and the moment. Nothing felt strained, staged, or uncomfortable for the subjects. Several of my family members, including my husband, don't love being photographed, and they were both so sensitive to that without losing anything important. They melt into the background and capture the smallest, lovely moments you didn't even know were happening. When they deliver the photos: The story of our wedding was told brilliantly in the first set of preview photos, which they delivered very quickly after the wedding, and even more so when we saw the full set of photos and the album. They are very responsive and delivered the shots exactly on the promised timeline and of course answered every single question we could have had along the way. They also helped us create a timeline for the day which kept everything on track and as planned which helped keep my head on straight! They weave the narrative structure beautifully - the wedding album they delivered (after very politely waiting for a long time for me to mark my favorites) is truly a work of art. 10/10 recommend to a friend!
