About Teentara

Teentara

Teentara is a New York-based Bangladeshi ensemble specializing in Bengali music. Featured by Barzakh Cafe, Brooklyn Raga Massive, WFMU, and Bengalis of New York, Teentara regularly performs at sold-out shows throughout NYC. In addition to Bangla folk songs, Teentara's repertoire includes Bollywood wedding songs and select qawwali songs.

Teentara is known for blending tradition and innovation. Their renditions of Bengali songs incorporate R&B, reggae, and jazz influences. The combination of guitar, tabla and rich vocals create a unique sound that has deeply resonated with the NYC Bengali diaspora.

    Authentic Bangla music

As a Bengali I wanted to have live music in my ceremony and Teentara delivered! Their song selection was amazing and everyone had such a great time. They are professional, communicative and easy to work with!
