Hi! I'm Nina! I'm an ex-Brooklynite residing in the beautiful hills of New England. I'm an analog (meaning film) and digital photographer specializing in documentary, editorial, and photojournalistic-style wedding photography. That means more images that are true to you and the moments you live, and fewer posed ones -- though we'll make sure to capture some of those too! With a background in commercial photography I am well versed in creating magical photo sets that capture the grandest and the most subtle moments of your day, and everything in-between. Your pictures are going to be the talk of the town!

When you think about it, our vendors are the only strangers we'll ever invite to our wedding; everyone else is there because they're dear to you. I pride myself on being the kindest, most easy-going and intuitive stranger you'll ever meet. It matters to me that your wedding day feel as seamless and fun as you've always hoped, and that that joy and ease be reflected in your images. Count on me to do whatever it takes to make your day, and your images, feel like you. I promise we won't feel like strangers for long! On the technical front, being an analog-forward photographer means my skills go way beyond the average Joe!

    Put us right at ease - Wonderful Photos

    I want to start out by saying that I am horrible at having my picture taken. My go to is to make a funny face or pull a funny pose so I don't have to be taken seriously. The idea of wedding photos has always made me cringe, and so when we were planning our elopement, I knew it would take a very specific photographer to make me feel at ease enough to get decent photos. Nina did more than get "decent" photos - she took some of the best photos pf me and my wife that we've ever taken. In prep she eagerly looked through our reference photos and made sure to understand what we liked about them to make sure she could incorporate that into everything. On the day she came extremely prepared, but also was very open to us improvising and changing things up based on timing/our energy levels. She made us feel utterly at ease, hyping us up when we needed a boost of energy, and blending into the background to capture more intimate moments. Some of my favorites photos are ones where I didn't realize she was even taking our picture in the first place. This documentary style is exactly what we wanted and she executed it perfectly! She was somehow able to make us look cooler than we are, and captured the day so beautifully. Somehow even my "funny" poses she managed to make look extremely romantic. Nina felt like more of a friend than a photographer on our wedding day - allowing her to capture a side of us I never thought was possible.

    The Best of the Best!

    We are blown away!! Nina was an absolute sport running around the city with us to capture our magical day. As someone who's quite camera shy, I've never felt more comfortable having my photo taken than when Nina's behind the camera. Nina was incredibly communicative leading up to our day, helping us plan our NYC elopement, which was beyond helpful as we don't live in the area. We felt so comfortable and at ease, and spent the whole day laughing and talking. Nina has the ability to capture the most stunning candid moments! We'll cherish these photos forever!

    Gorgeous candid wedding photos

    Nina has the ability to capture the moments that you forget transpired, in the most beautiful and artistic way. She seamlessly folded into the event of our wedding, preserving not the poses, but the emotions and SPIRIT of the day. She is a true artist behind the camera. Thank you, Nina!

Absolutely I do! Where appropriate, we'll build a second shooter or an assistant into our plan. This is especially common when it comes to larger weddings or mixed medium, meaning we decide on shooting film AND digital. Most projects are done by just myself.
Video is always possible. I classify video as an add-on service. If you're curious about video, whether super8 (film) or digital, let's chat! Occasionally I will take on video work myself, or recommend a third party to supplement my still photos. I'm happy to work with a videographer of your choosing, as well. Most of my couples hire a videographer of their choosing.
...if we shoot film, the answer is all of them! Unlike many photographers, I will gift you your "film negatives," also known as the raw archive of your images at no additional cost. This means you are free to have these scanned by any film lab and go through every single one at any time in the future at no additional creative cost. In addition to your negatives, you will receive professionally edited images by me, featuring the best of your collection, in accordance with your package type. As always, packages are fully customizable and I am happy to discuss delivering more photos per package. For more information, please refer to my packages.
Absolutely. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening for an additional charge. Please inquire about these additional services. While all final images will receive an editing pass, please note that the extra images you receive with your film negatives that were not selected for your finals will not have been edited. I am more than happy to touch base in the future to edit additional photos from your set!
All images are delivered within 30 days. Yes, even film!
Yes, yes and yes! All couples deserve beautiful photos. While I can't make blanket promises, it's a core value of mine to serve as many couples as possible. If you have a specific budget in mind, please reach out and be unafraid to share that specific number as well as what you're looking for from your wedding photography. Rest assured we'll work together to see whether we can come to a middle ground that works for all.
First of all, you're beautiful. I mean that. Truly. Imagine your best friend were worried about how they're going to look on their wedding day, you'd be the first to hype them up! In all seriousness, we all have insecurities. And part of our process will be me understanding what you're afraid of. But part of hiring a wedding photographer means it is no longer your responsibility to know how exactly to translate what makes you incredibly special; incredibly beautiful; incredibly cinematic. That's my job. You focus on loving your day, and when I tell you you're going to take your own breath away, I mean it!
