Popina is the collision of Italian cuisine and the American south, located in the charming neighborhood of Cobble Hill with a menu that is exciting and innovative yet comfortable and familiar. Popina features an impressive wine list, hospitable staff, and a spacious backyard garden ideal for dining al fresco or afternoon cocktails. Guests can mix and match services and spaces to their liking based on guest count and how much they'd like to spend, as we have multiple spaces available to book that can accommodate different group sizes and event concepts. Make use of our intimate private dining room, charming restaurant space, spectacular backyard, or covered sideyard, and bring your dream event to life. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Our ample backyard has hosted countless weddings and other events by itself, but it can also be combined with the interior of the restaurant to celebrate at large. All food and beverage works toward meeting your event's minimum, which may vary based on day/meal period. Please note, the minimum does not include 25% Event Fee or 8.875% NY State Tax. If reserved for lunch or brunch, the space is reserved for your group from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm. For dinner reservations, it will start from 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm, regardless of event start time.

The interior of the restaurant sits 24 guests, making it perfect for small weddings, anniversaries, or wedding showers, but it can also be combined with the backyard to celebrate at large. If reserved for lunch or brunch, the space is reserved for your group from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm. For dinner reservations, it will start from 6:00 pm - 10:30 pm, regardless of event start time.     Wonderful Rehearsal Dinner Experience!

    We had our rehearsal dinner at Popina for a group of 30ish people and had an amazing time! Our experience working with Popina was fantastic from start to finish. They worked with us and were easy to communicate with. Most importantly, the menu options were incredible and the food was delicious! All of our guests were blown away by the food we were served and could not stop raving about it. We used the outdoor garden space which was beautiful! Most importantly, when a sudden summer storm him, we were able to be protected by the retractable roof and our event carried on without any issues. We are so thankful to the team at Popina for helping make our wedding weekend a wonderfully special one!


Street parking is available in the neighborhood, both metered and otherwise.
Our backyard does not have a cover, so renting a tent is recommended. We have great relationships with rental companies in the neighborhood who know our space well. Many offer cancellations up until 48 hours of the event.
Our menu changes frequently as it is subject to the seasons and market availability. We will reach out to you within two weeks of your event (or earlier, depending on nature of event and size) with the menu that Chef has designed for your group.
Yes! We ask that guests share any known allergies or dietary restrictions prior to the event. Depending on the restrictions, the kitchen will either make modifications to your menu's dishes or prepare a separate option.
For buyout events, guests are welcome to provide their own music. Please confirm setup requirements with us prior as our electric capacity is limited and may require additional equipment rentals. As part of our agreement and relationship with the community board, music must be kept at a reasonable volume 100% shut off by 9 PM.
Rentals from outside vendors are welcome. Popina is not responsible for coordination though we're always happy to help with recommendations and feasibility. Rental drop-offs are permitted on the morning of your event or earlier on a case-by-case basis. Rental pickups must be made the morning following your event.
We lean mostly on our existing decor - additional decor is not needed but you are welcome to bring if preferred. For table decorations, minimal is recommended - with glassware and family style plates, large arrangements can make for a crowded table. We ask that you let us know of any planned decorations - confetti and live animals are not permitted.
