JVMMS Events

5.0

Washington, DC
  • DJ
  • Starts at $1,600

I've spent the past 15+ years offering my musical knowledge to events all over the world. That experience translates to DJing weddings and events so seamlessly, from being able to read crowds and deliver exactly what you and your guests want, to managing logistics from the DJ booth in an effortless manner. Whether you want a folk-laden cocktail hour, a classic dinner playlist, or a modern dance party, let me be the one to provide the soundtrack to the most important day of your life!

Awarded Best of Zola
We went to a friend's wedding with Jamz Events and thought it was one of the best dance floors we'd seen. When it was our turn to get engaged, we knew we wanted that same experience for us and our guests on our own big day. And we got it. Jeremy made the planning seamless for us, let us submit as many requests as we wanted, and then gave everyone the night of their lives at our reception. So many guests told us it was the best dance floor they'd seen at a wedding and that they never wanted to leave - it was full of joy for every song. We're so grateful and excited to go to another friend's wedding in May 2023 where Jeremy will also be DJ-ing!

Cesario Mendez Photography

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Photographer
  • Photojournalistic style

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Awarded Best of Zola
Cesar was great, he wrangled our family and stayed an extra 30 minutes since we were a bit delayed getting to the dance floor. And the photos are wonderful. Highly recommend!

Awarded Best of Zola
Let me start with District Winery is a fabulous wedding venue! For starters, it is gorgeous inside and out with a besutiful waterfront location. That alone wooed us, but the real wooing came from Latoria, the DW sales manager, who was fantastic to work with. She was incredibly patient answering all of our many questions before we signed the contract and afterwards letting us know the next steps. Another fantastic aspect of weddings at DW is that they assign you an event manager - and now this is where the big, huge thanks come into play. Samantha was absolutely incredible to work with! She was our event manager and left no detail unaccounted for. From our first email exchange to our final walkthrough and then the final, final details, she answered every question and ensured everything was set and ready to go. She is very detail oriented and the spreadsheet she gave us to complete with all of our decor, dietary restrictions, etc. ensured fantastic organization and that everyone was on the same page. Day-of, I could not believe how perfectly everything turned out with our decor, flowers, and food. The food at DW is fantastic - if you haven’t been yet for a visit - go! Everyone knows that you don’t go to a wedding and expect great food and wine, but that is not the case here at DW. After our unbelievable tasting night (which was just insanely awesome), we had to narrow down our favorites which was hard to do!One of my favorite aspects of a wedding is cocktail hour and they delighted with the passed hors d’oeuvres, food stations (including a cheese tower), and bar! Also, as my husband and I keep saying- the best money we spent was on the gorgeous and fun champagne tower! Obviously, I can’t say enough great things about our wedding at District Winery. If we could do it all over again, we would and we wouldn’t change a thing! Huge thanks to Samantha and District Winery for making our dream day come true!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Sharon on our engagement photos and couldn't be more thrilled with the results. From start to finish, Sharon was an absolute joy to work with. She was professional, and friendly, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the entire shoot. Sharon has an incredible eye for capturing the perfect shot. She listened to our ideas and preferences and also brought her own creative ideas to the table. The end result was a collection of stunning photos that truly captured the love and connection between my fiancée and me. What stood out to me the most was how much Sharon genuinely cared about getting the perfect shots. She took the time to ensure every detail was perfect, from the lighting to our poses. Mark was hands down THE best part of our wedding! He was so helpful during the whole planning process. Any questions we had he gave us the best advice. He doubles down as a “Day of Coordinator” as well, making sure the timeline is down to a tee. The lights he set up in our reception was like nothing I’ve seen at any other wedding. He even had us throw down on the turntable and it was such a fun and unique moment that everyone loved!! It really was electric during party time! Mark is also so friendly and personable. He was our favorite vendor to work with. My advice is to stop scrolling now and BOOK THIS MAN for your wedding!!! You will not regret it. THANK YOU MARK FOR THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!

Stefan A. Photography

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Photographer
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $2,000

Making personal connection with you is important to me. I believe in serving couples from every background and the more I learn about you the better I can serve you as your wedding photographer. I currently reside in DC but have also living in LA, The Bay Area, and Morocco.

Awarded Best of Zola
If I could give Stefan ten stars, I would. Working with him was an incredible experience from start to finish. He did our engagement photos and our wedding photos and for the former he traveled to New York so we could do the shoot at a location that has a great deal of meaning to us. My husband and I are not people who are usually comfortable in front of a camera, but Stefan goes above and beyond to make sure he is prepared and that you are prepared to have the best shoot possible. He has detailed guides for both engagement and wedding shoots, which were incredibly helpful. He also meets with you to discuss your goals for the shoot, get to know who you are as a couple, and understand the vibe you are going for. Our engagement shoot was on a cold and windy day in a location unfamiliar to him and he did research, arrived early, and knocked it out of the park. For our wedding day, the timeline went exactly to plan and any stress or nerves I was feeling completely melted away because we already knew Stefan was on top of it, knew what we wanted from the day, and that we had a rapport going between us. On our wedding day, our friends and family absolutely gushed about Stefan and how great he is. I can't tell you how many times someone came up to me and said, "Who is your photographer? He is AWESOME." Stefan's style is authentic and he is incredibly skilled. The photos are breathtaking without seeming unnatural or overworked. He is great at capturing your vibe as a couple and making sure that comes through in the photos. He is so easy to get along with and can make even the least photogenic among us (pointing at myself here) comfortable in front of the camera. He is a great photographer and an even more delightful human being and I would recommend him to absolutely anyone.

Barbora Jones photography LLC

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Photographer
  • Classic style
  • Starts at $3,950

I am a photographer based in Washington DC, focusing on weddings and portraits, with a specialization in creating joyful, romantic, and timeless images. It would be a great privilege for me to document significant moments in your life through photography. I strongly believe that each unique event should be commemorated with affectionate enthusiasm and attention.

Awarded Best of Zola
As you’ll come to see with vendors, not all of them are very responsive, Barbora was always responsive no matter what time I texted her and had a question to ask her prior to the wedding. She’s punctual (something I care a lot about), she’s very organized (had a timeline and stuck to it) she is also very reliable so that made me comfortable. On the wedding day, she was a delight to be around. She worked so so hard. I literally got to a point where I had to remind her to go have her meal. She took what I thought were beautiful pictures. I wanted spontaneous and organic pictures and she captured just that. I am very awkward in front of the camera (and so is my husband), she helped direct us and made us comfortable. I also wanted pictures in front of the DC monuments, as you can imagine they’re crazy busy on the weekend but she managed to direct us along with the rest of our group and took some of the most beautiful photos (I thought). What I valued the most about Barbora is that it felt like she genuinely cared. It wasn’t a job that she had to go to, she really enjoyed what she was doing.

Every story is as unique as the lives that compose them. We’re passionate storytellers with a wellspring of knowledge and experience in our crafts. A compelling wedding film requires more than a camera.

Awarded Best of Zola
My now-husband and I were on the fence about having a videographer at our wedding. After months of deliberation, we put out a last-minute desperate plea for a videographer. Tim responded that Foxlight Films was available on our wedding date and offered his services... little did we know that hiring him would be our best decision yet; the cherry on top of a perfect day. Tim was there throughout our wedding day, unobtrusive yet ever-present, capturing every beautiful moment from our first look, through our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Being able to re-live our wedding through the POV of our guests has been absolutely priceless. Our videos are a perfect representation of our day, capturing all the love and happiness we felt in the moment - we’ve already watched them at least a dozen times each! There are not enough words to express how happy we are with Tim’s services, but I hope these snippets from our friends and family will paint the picture for you: Grandma: “Spectactular” Dad: “He was worth every penny” Mom: “WOW” Best Friend: “How did he capture all that?!” Bridesmaid: “If I ever get married I’m flying him out here” Coworker: “We should hire this guy. He’s good.” Friend: “That shot is f***ing moneyyyy” TL;DR - If there was a rating higher than 5 stars, I'd give it. Hire Foxlight Films. It will be the best decision you make on your wedding day.

Veux Beauty (Hair and Makeup)

A luxury beauty experience for the modern woman! My beauty philosophy is simple, "When you look good you feel good. When you feel good you do better".I started Nina Renee beauty because I believe that we all deserve to have the celebrity-style beauty experience of our dreams. As a high-end makeup artist servicing some of Washington DC's most prestigious residents for over eight years, I always found it hard to find my "Glam team".

Awarded Best of Zola
I would recommend NRBeauty Co. to any bride to be. Nina is incredibly attentive and communicative in addition to being transparent about her pricing. Andrea and Andejla were my glam team, and I absolutely loved their work, as did the rest of my bridal party. The makeup and hair lasted for at least 12 hours (likely more). NRBeauty Co. was by far the most professional team I communicated with. I appreciated the portal Nina managed which included all communications, invoices, and glam guides. My bridal party also appreciated the Google form they submitted in advance of the day to share their inspo & desired looks! Nina also confirmed when the glam team was en route the day of the wedding, which was highly appreciated given how stressful the morning-of can be. To top it all off, they ran on time / ahead of schedule the day of the wedding!

You would be lucky to have her photograph your event!

Kelton was wonderful to work with from start to finish. He stuck with us even when we had to postpone our wedding for two years due to the pandemic, so we really appreciated his commitment to working with us. Kelton has a great system for figuring out your taste, priorities, and run of show. He set up very quickly at our venue, which was key given we were running on a tight schedule, and he managed to produce nice sound in a very cavernous space (no idea how!). He kept us running on time and made all transitions seamless. His music perfectly matched the vibe we wanted, starting with a relaxed cocktail hour and dinner, and gradually increasing the tempo into a full-scale dance party as the night went on. And our friends and family had an absolute blast! He had everyone from 20 somethings to family in their 60s and 70s dancing until the very end! We got so many positive messages the next day, including one person who described our DJ as being "on fleek."

She then found herself in love with the beauty industry where she began working at beauty retailer, Sephora, to gain knowledge of skincare, luxury cosmetics lines and to experience working with clients one-on-one.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Marquita for my wedding. She listened to me, asked great questions, and made our time getting ready for my wedding enjoyable. She has a creative mind. I asked for color on my lips and she blended a warm, vibrant lip color that fit our color scheme and my personality. Marquita was professional. She listened to any contract concerns I had, she was on time. She worked well with the other contractors such as the photographer, church staff, and wedding planner. If you want someone who works hard and delivers beautiful results, I highly recommend Marquita.

Hi, I am Elaine. I am a photographer based in Washington, DC and the surrounding VA and MD areas. When I know that my clients are happy about the pictures I've taken and edited, I know that my art is finally seen and my dream is finally coming true.

Elaine is an absolute joy to work with! She selected a great site and time of day to take the photos. She arrived promptly and gave good direction for framing the shots, which came out wonderfully and much to our satisfaction. After the session, Elaine processed the photographs quickly and we are enjoying the results. We look forward to working with her again!

Weddings by Kristy

5.0

Washington, DC
  • Planner
  • Offers 5 services
  • Starts at $2,000

Midway through vision boarding, thinking ‘this is a lot’? We hear you. Working with us is like having a professional tour guide to lead you through bringing your ideal wedding from mental picture to actual day. Because the best wedding is the one where you’re relaxed, toasting champagne, and being all lovey with the person you adore. Google us to see our 5-star reviews!

Kristy was the wedding vendor I didn’t know I needed, until I met her! My husband and I hired Kristy as our day of coordinator for our wedding last weekend and she was nothing short of amazing! Once our wedding was about 4 months out and we really started to get into the weeds of planning our big day, we realized that we needed a day of coordinator as we were doing a lot of DIY touches for the wedding and needed someone there to make sure our vision could actually come to life. Upon meeting Kristy, she immediately gave us a ton of ideas as to where to thrift on a tight budget and had so much information and helpful tips to offer. She also took over the vendor communication 3 months out which was a huge lift in the final planning stage! She was very effective in her coordination with all of our vendors and point of contacts so that on the day of the wedding we were really just enjoying the day both carefree and stress-free. Kristy offers a ton of helpful documents to review after your first session with her and she creates a custom timeline for you with the day scheduled to the minute. She was so organized and really kept us on track! Kristy also did an amazing job with the breakdown of the event especially since we brought in a lot of the decor in ourselves. She was flexible in making sure that all of our items got into one of our family member’s cars so it could be picked up whenever we had time the next day. This was a huge help so that guests at the wedding weren’t carrying flowers, vases, and signs home for us and instead headed directly to the after party. She even texted my parents the morning after with the details of where all of our items were stored and shared some great photos (and a reel with us) from the day! :) Kristy was also an advocate for us as clients, which went a really long way. We were having issues communicating well with one of our vendors, but Kristy stepped in and found a way to get a hold of the vendor and ensure our ask could be met. Without that push, our day would have looked a lot different than the vision we had hoped for- she really made our day come to life. After going through the wedding process, I truly think everyone needs a day of coordinator so if you have a slight inclination that someone is needed, think no further and contact Kristy! While weddings can get expensive as we all know, the best use of our money on our wedding day was spent on Kristy. Looking back on our day, we can’t thank her enough!!

  • Photojournalistic style

The best way to tell honest stories is through keen observation. How do I know? Because I spent 15 years as a journalist before becoming a wedding photographer. By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

Awarded Best of Zola
My wife and I were searching for a photographer who could capture our wedding as it really was, from the intimate moments to the wild dance floor, and Natasha's documentary-style fit our needs exactly! She listened carefully to what we wanted - minimal posed pictures, non-traditional "first look", lots of candids, etc - and she more than delivered. We had 130 guest count and Natasha covered basically every inch of our wedding day, no need or want for a second shooter. She was everywhere and so stealthy that we didn't realize she was so close to us the whole night until we got our pictures back. Our ceremony was outside and dinner/dancing were inside, and regardless of the lighting, the pictures turned out perfectly, she was even able to capture non-blurry pictures of guests jamming on a packed dance floor! She was a pleasure to work with, the instructions of her process were easy to follow from start to finish, and had a lot of examples to look through which gave us a good idea of what we were getting. We especially appreciated that she sent us a few pictures the morning after our wedding as a sneak peek, very nice touch. She's genuinely kind and calm which helped us remain present during our wedding day. Everyone who has seen our photos are amazed by the quality and we are too. We're thrilled we picked Natasha and highly recommend her!

Growing up in rural Virginia my intro to photography came to me at 14 while breaking into abandoned houses with friends to take photos that can only be describe in retrospection as “experimental”. Fast forward a handful of years and I found myself going 'legit' and holding a BFA in photography, later finding yet more perspective and cutting my teeth shooting society events in NYC. Having now spent more years of my life taking photos than not, it’s safe to say that I’m all in.

When all of our wedding plans fell through because of COVID-19, we opted for a socially-distant micro wedding at a park. We somehow made it happen with just over 48hrs to plan! We knew we wanted a photographer to help us capture our special day, even if it didn't have all the bells and whistles, and were so lucky to have found Cassidy on such short notice. He was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly flexible (we changed our venue the night before the wedding) and very communicative. To top it off, our photos turned out so beautiful and made our adhoc wedding seem a bit more romantic and put together. He captured laughter and love! We loved his work and will recommend him to friends.

The "Original" Moonlighters ®

3.7

Washington, DC
  • Band or Ensemble
  • Starts at $2,000

Since 1990, The Moonlighters ® have been performing throughout the U.S. as one of the country’s best-loved and most authentic Motown and variety dance bands, covering all your Jazz/Blues/Oldies/Motown/Soul/Disco/Funk/Classic Rock/Pop favorites! Just close your eyes and you’ll swear the original artists are performing. But don’t close them for too long or you won’t be able to enjoy their outstanding dance moves and showmanship.

We're quite saddened by their google review, posted even before we had a chance to actually speak with them to clear up several serious inaccuracies. Our band has HUNDREDS of positive online reviews/satisfied wedding clients. And we'll always accept valid criticism. But this one is mostly false and unfair. As Zola does not provide the option for responding to negative reviews, the following are our comments: 1. Since the bride and groom hadn't hired a wedding planner everything was extremely disorganized as we received their timeline just one week prior to the event, but then they changed it twice more, including two days before. Despite asking for our bandleader's phone #, the groom never reached out to discuss any of these details. In other words, we were given minimal direction in regard to all of the last-minute changes. Even on the wedding day itself, our band was asked to set and reset their equipment multiple times because the bride and groom disagreed with the onsite coordinator's floor plan, moving/resetting the bride and groom table as well! 2. According to what the photographer told us, the bride and groom's limo driver was over 90 min. late, shifting the entire timeline and putting them in a bad mood from the very beginning, as noticed by our bandleader at around 5:15pm when he first introduced himself, prior to the band providing either live or recorded music. 3. Regarding the recorded music, it was only lacking for approx. 45 min. as the band discovered the phone battery issue at approx. 7:45pm, during their first break, quickly rectifying the situation by putting the phone on a charger and then continuing with the recorded music outside from approx. 8-10pm. Furthermore, they made up for it by keeping their system running for an extra 30 min., beyond our contracted time of 11pm. And those comments regarding the afterparty are also totally untrue as somebody from the band was manning the system, until a cousin of the bride or groom demanded that he use her playlist instead, and then she responded angrily when he finally turned off the system at 11:30pm. 4. As for the band's sound system, we do acknowledge some 'hum' issues as there was just one electrical outlet provided for the entire band, resulting in 'dirty power' which couldn't be fully corrected. And we deeply regret mispronouncing the various names as most were very unfamiliar and of Indian origin, despite our lining up the wedding party in advance and writing everything down phonetically. 5. Even though some of the client's emails mentioned solo keys during cocktails, we provided a duo, covering an extra 30 min. of recorded music from 4:30-5pm at no extra charge, as requested. While it's standard practice for a band to take a dinner break during an almost six hr. event, this was clearly-specified in our contract as well. And then we performed continuously from 8:30-10pm, including most of the requested songs that we had prepared well in advance. So their comments about seemingly just 'walking off a bus' are completely false and misleading. In other words, our musicians went 'above and beyond' in spite of some very challenging circumstances. 6. Fortunately, we did receive a 'happy reaction' with a crowded dance floor and TONS of compliments from the guests, some requesting pictures w/the band too, while even the bride and groom were singing along and dancing non-stop, which we were VERY happy to see, making their negative review even more surprising though!

On your Wedding Day and we want your personality to shine through in all of your wedding photos. You're going to have the best day ever and we'll be there to photograph every laugh, tear, and moment you wish you could remember forever! Our couples come from every walk of life and we love that they know they can be who they are with us! Comfort is key when it comes to choosing your Wedding Photographer because we're capturing your memories on the biggest days of your life. On the day of your wedding, you’ll say "I do", blink and it’ll be over. It's ok though! You’ll sleep easy knowing you'll always be able to look back at your Wedding Day in bright, beautiful color when you receive your wedding photos in about 4-6 weeks.

Nicole and Jose of Bokeh Lane Photography are simply wonderful! So energetic and creative! They shot our engagement session and are slated to shoot our wedding whenever COVID allows for that. We wanted a photographer that has a great eye for candid shots and heard about these two from a friend who had their engagement and wedding shot by them. My friend’s pictures were beautiful, so I reached out to Nicole and Jose. They helped us with every step of the process, even with picking out outfits before the shoot. They’re kind and professional and just so easy to work with. I am not used to being in front of the camera, whereas my fiance is a natural in front of the camera. I told them that up front and they made sure to make me feel comfortable while just letting my fiance be himself, and the pictures came out so great! They are highly responsive as far as communication goes and prices are extremely reasonable for such high quality work. Highly highly recommend!

I was born and raised in a quiet seaside town on the South Shore of Long Island. I grew up in a place where good, strong love grows with parents who have been together since they were 16 years old. They taught me that true love grows in the face of hardship and, as strong believers in their faith, that love is, indeed, patient and kind. And so as soon as I realized that wedding photography didn’t have to be posed and mechanical; that I could shoot weddings from a more organic and authentic lens; that I could document a story, not direct one, I was hooked!

It's undeniable that Lauren is an incredibly talented photographer -- her photos probably already caught your eye hence why you're in this reviews section ;) Aside from the incredible, authentic, editorial, and gorgeous photos Lauren delivered from our wedding, she was also a dream to work with. Lauren is a professional; badass, direct, organized, fun, and most importantly, far from "basic" when it comes to wedding photography. I'm so happy I frantically slid into her DMs years ago when she first started photographing weddings in DC. I will always recommend Lauren and years later, my heart still skips a beat when I fondly look through our wedding photos <3 Thank you, Lauren!!

My style is distinct, a result of both my unrelenting commitment to my craft and complete trust from clients who commission me. You’re not going to read about any awards, badges, or “top 10 lists” because what matters is you’re in love with the work that you see and are ready to trust me entirely to do what I do. This trust drives me to find the perfect balance between creative experimentation and honest documentation.

Can't recommend Sam enough. Not only is his work some of the best I've seen and is well known around the world, but he is also just super chill to work with. He lets videographers do their thing and is very easy going with the couples and vendors he works with.

Mess Hall

Washington, DC
  • Venue
  • Up to 150 guests

  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $6,000

Mess Hall is a modern wedding venue located in the heart of Washington, D.C. The only private event space in DC that looks into an open industrial kitchen, Mess Hall provides an urban and inviting atmosphere that your guests won’t soon forget. The polished concrete floors, exposed industrial ceilings and mid-century modern décor all make this venue the unique and versatile space you’ve been searching for. Having hosted events for countless local clients, such as DC Brau, The Smithsonian Institution, The Embassy of Japan and more, Mess Hall has the experience and reputation needed to host the celebration of a lifetime. For a true urban wedding experience in the middle of one of America’s most well-known cities, look no further than Mess Hall!

Hosting our wedding at Mess Hall was one of the best decisions we made! The space is just what we wanted: industrial chic near the MBT with a covered outdoor area and access to amazing food. As a culinary incubator, they have a ton of great vendors on site, and while you don’t have to use one of their partners, that was a huge draw to us because we wanted to support small business and do something different than the standard chicken/fish/vegetable offering you get from most wedding caterers (shoutout to Kam & 46 for incredible Hawaiian/Filipino food!). While there was some staff turnover during the planning process, Al’s consistency and guidance gave us confidence that everything would run smoothly on the day of. The space is very customizable, it’s easy to choose what kind of furniture and lighting you want, plus the digital screen and sound system (both indoors and outdoors), helped us fully transform the space to achieve everything we envisioned. Our only concerns during the planning process was the size of our party – we had over 120 attend – so we didn’t do the traditional assigned seats and tables, but nevertheless there was plenty of seating space indoors and outdoors, it didn’t feel too crowded at all, and there was never a line for the two single-stall bathrooms the entire night. Not only was the space great, but the service was superior. During our wedding reception, Al was incredibly attentive to us and anticipated our needs even before we did. For example, he regularly offered to fetch us drinks from the bar when he saw us finishing our beers and when he saw one of standing with friends, he immediately brought over a standing table so we could rest our food and drinks. Our guests were really impressed when we told them he was the owner of Mess Hall. I’m sure there’s a lot of things he did that we didn’t even see – all of which helped our wedding go smoothly. Overall, we were extremely pleased with Mess Hall and hope you will be too!

Jolie was the first vendor I hired and it was the best decision I made. She understood my vision for my wedding and far exceeded by expectations. When I told her my budget, she stayed within my range and gave me the best options. She is so easy and nice to work with too. Hi - I'm Danielle. A wife. A mom to three wonderful children. A wedding photographer. I've been shooting weddings since 2010. 300++ weddings and counting. I love working with natural light, real moments, and images with energy and emotion. I would love the privilege of hearing your love story. If you'd like to inquire, please email or call to set up an interview.!

We hired Danielle Real for our engagement and wedding photos. She is a preferred vendor of District Winery, where we got married, and it was easy to see why. She’s a true professional and a master at photography. She made us feel at ease during our engagement photos by helping us choose the outfits that would work best with the setting and teaching us how to pose. On the day of our wedding, she was prompt and attentive. As a result of our productive planning meeting about a month before our wedding, she had a list of all the photos we wanted (most because of her great suggestions!) and we sailed right thru them. Bonus: she is a pro people-wrangler. She also knows the exact right spots for each kind of photos at District Winery which helped moved things along so much that we achieved our goal of not having to take any photos during cocktail hour so we could enjoy it too! We just finished going through all of our wedding photos and could not be happier - so many to love!

From the beginning, Deanna and Grant go out of their way to get to know the couple they are working with, and this attention to detail comes through brilliantly in the finished product. Their enthusiasm is combined with unmatched professionalism and craftsmanship, and on the day of our wedding they were an absolute joy to have around. By the time of our big day, we felt so comfortable around Deanna and Grant that they felt more like guests than vendors. There was so little staging that it allowed us to truly experience the wedding day and remember all the “in between” moments. We were blown away by the quality and fast turnaround of the finished product. Deanna and Grant captured the entire vibe and excitement of our day! When we showed family and friends the one minute teaser, they were so impressed that they were surprised we were getting more! They gave my wife and I the gift of memories that we can cherish for a lifetime. If I get married ten times (to my beautiful wife of course), I’m choosing Harrison Films every time!

All the amazing reviews of Tiffany reflect my own experience as half of a clueless couple whose hands Tiffany held for over a year. Where do I even begin... Tiffany was the first vendor we hired for our wedding, and from then on, she helped us assemble a dream team. We hired Tiffany for the full planning package. With her years of experience planning events and weddings of all sizes in the DMV area, she was able to introduce us to our beyond professional make up artist, cake designer, florist, and catering team. We had a lot of questions and she simply knew all the answers. Our friends and families marveled at how relaxed we were about our upcoming wedding, but there was literally nothing for us to worry about because we were working with Tiffany! Tiffany KNOWS wedding planning and takes great care of her clients AND their families. If you're looking for someone who is kind, responsive, and thorough--and you really should be looking for those qualities in the person planning one of the biggest days of your life--Tiffany is the planner for you. Thank you Tiffany!!!

Hi! I'm Katie, an East Coast & Destination Wedding Photographer, based in Washington D.C. After taking a high-school photography class–it quickly became clear that I loved the art of photography. Soon after graduating, I was offered an internship position near Chicago that allowed me to continue to dive into the world of studio lighting, image editing, and commercial photography; continuing to hone on the technical skills that often get left behind when you have the digital screen to instantly see your work. A few years later, I photographed a friends wedding and it became crystal clear that this was exactly what I wanted to pursue.

Oh my goodness! Kate Grace is the best wedding photographer in the game. I am SO glad we snagged her to photograph our wedding. Throughout the entire process from booking to engagement shoot to COVID-19 wedding planning - Kate was there for us each step of the way. On my wedding day I was barely stressed because I knew Kate would capture every moment perfectly. She took every shot (and then some!!!) on my shot list and delivered THE MOST BEAUTIFUL gallery. Kate even worked with our videographer and sent them pictures for our wedding video. Kate is INCREDIBLE. Hire her. You WILL NOT regret it. As long as we are in the DC area, Kate is our photographer.

Homemade comforting treats, Grandma’s way. Sweetdele's Sweet Treats makes those traditional desserts you can't find anymore - the kind that’s nostalgic from the good ole days. Deborah grew up cooking with the matriarchs of the family, and now shares those Caribbean rum cakes, Lemon pound, and Brown Sugar pound cakes.

I used SweetDele’s for an anniversary party and Deborah did an amazing job! Her desserts were soo good and she was such a joy to work with and to top it off her presentation of decor for the dessert table was beyond perfect!

You can find me drinking coffee, lifting weights, or hanging with our cats on any given day. I love people and I love working with people. Photography and art have been part of my life for over a decade and working with you to create your vision is what brings me the most joy. Reach out to say hello, ask about AGP, and talk about your big day.

Anne documented our wedding day and we cannot say enough good things about her. Through the whole process, from engagement to the big day, she made us feel so comfortable, heard, seen, and supported. Her communication is spectacular and timely and the quality of the photos is an 11 out of 10. Not to mention that our wedding was less than a week ago and we already have an album of GORGEOUS teaser photos! We can't wait to see the rest from the big day because we know that she and her second shooter captured so many special moments during the event. Thanks to Anne for capturing us and our joy so completely. And, if you are looking for someone kind, caring, and talented - look no further! Anne's the one.

My name is Havana and I have been photographing precious moments for roughly 4 years. My favorite place to be is behind the camera capturing all of your special moments. I am new to DC and was previously based in Ohio.

Working with Havana was so much fun. I ran the photo booth and she captured every emotion of the night. She is always my go-to recommendation when a couple is looking for a photographer. Best believe whenever I get married, she will be there.

I have the most amazing memories from childhood of being cuddled up with my Granny going through old pictures. The joy and nostalgia that came from those old film photos where everything. My favorite part was always looking up at my Granny as she got lost in each individual memory, seeing her face shape shift in moments of grief over the past and then instant joy because she knew that she could relive that moment as long as she had those photos. Every time I pick up my camera I strive to create tangible moments that will last a lifetime.

We had the absolute best time with Sy'Vone for both our engagement and wedding photos. She is kind, patient, and has an incredible eye. She understood what I wanted for my wedding photos and even created a vision board so I could verify it (the vision board is also in and of itself just beautiful). Not only did we love her, our guests loved her. Everyone came up to me and said how wonderful she was. I can't thank you enough!

Hi there, I'm Rudney Novaes — And I’ve been intrigued by photography since I was a boy. In youth I discovered a fascination with film when my Father left behind a vintage camera. I was amazed by the mechanics of the time-worn device, in awe of its capability to freeze moments in time. Today, I’m an editorial and wedding photographer capturing stories filled with feeling, and my love of light and film continues to shape my craft. I’m passionate about sharing the knowledge I’ve chased since childhood with aspiring creatives and seasoned professionals alike, and I believe wholeheartedly that there’s always more to learn from one another.

I knew I wanted Rudney to be my wedding photographer before I even had a date or venue. It was love at first sight with his work, and he never disappointed. Rudney was so easy to work with, he is flexible, dedicated, open to your ideas while also giving suggestions to make sure everything turns out perfect. The day of the wedding was effortless, I did not have to worry about what my photographer was doing because I trusted and was confident in Rudney's ability to deliver what I envisioned. His team of professionals were also the best! I will forever treasure my wedding photos, they came out so beautiful and perfectly captured my amazing day. Rudney's work is exquisite, he is truly a master in his art!

I specialize in Wedding, Engagement, Maternity and Marketing Sessions while also spending time getting to know you by the smile on your face, and sparkle in your eyes, creating digital footprints that will last forever & ever! Photography was invited into my life simply because reading a book under a tree shade, or sitting cozy by the fire with my Great Danes, always ended in a great photo that truly spoke to me! As a Christ Follower, I am blessed to share the gifts God has given me and use them to bless others!

I always knew that I wanted to work with Kristie when it came time for my wedding day because of a previous photo shoot I had with her for marketing purposes. Kristie was fun, personal, professional and most importantly she was an expert when it came to instructing my husband and I on how to pose for the camera to look our best. We could not have dreamed of a better photographer. She even referred us to an amazing videographer. We are so grateful to have had Kristie as one of our wedding vendors and highly recommend her to anyone getting married in the DC, MD or VA area.

The space is modern and well-appointed with AV, lighting and equipment including tables, chairs and bars. All are high quality and brand new! Event spaces throughout the Museum make for lots of different party plans - a spacious, open first floor would work nicely for a ceremony or program with cocktails on the open-air roof terrace and second floor with time to flip the ceremony space for dinner. Plenty of creative ways to design a lovely party! The events coordinator and the building team are outstanding - very responsive, flexible, and accommodating. Love the CJM team!

Free Spirit

Washington, DC

Free Spirit is the number one choice in the Washington DC and Baltimore areas for dance music, with a wide variety of tunes designed to keep your feet moving. The key to a memorable wedding reception, corporate party, fundraiser, or political event, is a band that brings a high-energy, customized set list, with great visual effects and crowd interaction.

WOW - booking Free Spirit was the best decision we made for our wedding day, besides getting married :). Their talent was unparalleled, and we had countless guests comment that this was the best wedding band that they had ever seen and and asking "who is this band and how did you find them?!" One friend even asked if we thought that they would fly out to Spain for her upcoming wedding! Their set list was a mix of great oldies (still smiling when we watch back videos of their cover of "Best of My Love" with all of our guests on the dance floor - truly phenomenal) and 2000s/pop songs. People literally didn't budge off of the dance floor for 3 hours. All this, and their pricing was incredibly reasonable, especially for bringing all of the vocalists, horn players, etc that they did. We cannot recommend Free Spirit highly enough; you will NOT be disappointed.

Electrifying, riveting, simply on fire! These are just a few quotes from reviews of Nightsong, one of the hottest and most well-respected dance bands in the country. With past and present satisfied clients such as the International Monetary Fund, The NFL, Marriott Intl., Frito Lay, The Preakness (to name a few), and countless weddings/private events in the DC/Baltimore area and beyond, Nightsong has become the "go-to" for clients and event planners seeking high energy, world-class musicianship, and a level of professionalism that puts events "over the top!

Nightsong made our wedding absolutely perfect! In a call with the band leader, Bennett (who is the nicest person ever), I gave the direction that I want to party all night and give our guests a reason to not sit down. Boy, did Nightsong deliver!! 3 days later and my calves still hurt from dancing so much, and we have the best pictures of the dance floor being PACKED the entire night. The singers were amazing and the guitarist was unreal (he even did a guitar solo at the end that everyone was raving about). I even have some friends getting married end of next year who may be booking because they loved the band so much!! Cannot recommend them enough- seriously, just book them, you will be thankful you did.

Round Midnight’s trademark is versatility. From the classic elegance of swing, to the driving funk of today’s dance grooves, ‘Round Midnight’s trio of lead vocalists infuses your event with energy, enthusiasm and unparalleled musicianship. The band’s smooth vocal harmonies, powerful rhythm section and optional trumpet and trombone, will keep your guests on the dance floor… long past Midnight.

'Round Midnight was EXCEPTIONAL! Looking for bands was so overwhelming, and we were so thrilled when we discovered 'Round Midnight through the Sam Hill website. Every single guest at our wedding could not stop talking about how amazing the band was - not only are they incredible musicians and singers, they truly created a warm, fun, and engaging ceremony through their excellent emceeing skills. They made our reception the party of a lifetime, and the dance floor was filled from start to finish. Each member of the band is kind, funny, and supremely talented. They were one of the most exceptional parts of our wedding, and we will be forever grateful to them for making our day so joyous and fun.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990, our meeting house was constructed in 1930 during the administration of the Quaker president, Herbert Hoover. It was built to serve as a house of worship and a gathering place for those wanting to “seek peace and pursue it.” The building was enlarged in 1950. In 1970, we acquired the red brick Quaker House, Carriage House and garden at 2121 Decatur Place NW. Built in the 1920s and also on the National Register, these buildings today house a number of nonprofit organizations and small businesses as well as additional event spaces. With multiple interior spaces and gardens, we can accommodate events of various sizes and layouts, from 2 to 300. We host individuals, non-profit organizations, and for-profit entities. Our event rental prices are affordable, with discounts offered to non-profit organizations in alignment with our values. Whether you are planning a wedding, celebration, a corporate meeting, we can accommodate you.

I'm a fine art destination wedding photographer; intensely passionate about preserving those fleeting moments, intimate details and loved ones throughout a wedding that make the day unforgettable. I believe there is a delicate balance between letting the day unfold while supporting you through the process to create a lovely collection of meaningful keepsakes. I married my now business partner and best friend of twelve years on a warm summer evening in August beneath two immense magnolia trees. We currently spend our time between an old farmhouse in the heart of wine and hunt country and Lake Norman with our dog Endo, two cats and two horses.

My interest in photography began at age 16 when my brother brought home a used Canon A1 from a pawn shop. My persistent attraction to the art of photography led me to the Savannah College of Art and Design where I received a BFA in Photography. I then ventured to Asheville, NC where I was surrounded by a creative community of artists and found a niche preserving timeless images of love-classics. Fast forward many years later, I now live in Washington D.C. which serves as my home base for my continuing adventures.
