About Poppy Flowers

Poppy Flowers

Full-service floral design. Transparent pricing.

Poppy is a full-service wedding florist with one mission: give every couple stunning floral design without the luxury-tier price tag. We design, source, and deliver your flowers from first consultation to final installation. As featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, The Today Show, Fortune, and Goop. Planning your wedding flowers should feel exciting, not overwhelming. If you've been gathering inspiration and wondering whether your budget can actually bring that vision to life — it can. That's exactly what we do.

Once you book, you're not locked into a single design. You’ll have an online Poppy account where you can evolve your vision as your planning continues — we are fine with that! You can refine colors, swap varieties, and adjust your proposal as your wedding takes shape. We have an online planning portal so you can see everything in one place. We've designed flowers for weddings at venues from Brooklyn brownstones to Texas hill country ranches — and everywhere in between. Whether your aesthetic is romantic garden, modern minimal, or bold and colorful, our designers know how to translate a mood board into something real.

    Beautiful Flowers, Difficult Communication

We chose Poppy Flowers for our wedding and the final arrangements were absolutely gorgeous. That said, working with the team was frustrating at times. Our florist repeated herself often and didn't always give us clear updates on what she was still working on, which left my coordinator and me feeling confused about our order status. Better communication throughout the process would have made the experience smoother. Despite the rocky coordination, the flowers on our wedding day were beautiful.

    10/10!!!!

Working with Poppy was so simple and fun! The first thing I loved about Poppy was my ability to look through all of their options and use those to create my vision. Second, I loved working with Alicia who listened to everything I wanted, provided ideas, adjusted things to work with what I wanted and even asked to see my dress to ensure that the bouquet sizing worked with the dress. This was so special for me. Lastly, their florals were stunning. They truly were a great company to work with and I would recommend them to anyone who asked!

Terrible communication & last minute changes

I started working with Poppy over a year out from my wedding. Early communication was fine, although I was pushed to use their preset arrangements rather than getting a truly custom design as you would with a traditional florist, which I didn't realize prior to booking. I feel I lead the direction of all the design and didn't get much input - I gave inspo pics, listed types of flowers, and made all the mock ups myself. I didn't really get feedback beyond "so cute!" Approx. 2-3 months out from the wedding, the designer stopped responding to me for several weeks. I messaged her through the portal, emailed customer service, even DM'd them on Instagram and was blown off. This was extremely stressful and it took 15 attempts at contact for someone in another department to confirm they even still had my wedding on their books. Approx. 6 weeks out, the designer said that she was extremely concerned about using hydrangeas due to potential heat.... My florals had been majority hydrangea designs from the very beginning of booking Poppy, so it's unbelievable that this issue came up in the 11th hour. After dropping this bombshell, she cancelled our scheduled meeting! I had to push to even get a new meeting set up to try to find a solution. I gave 2 stars because ultimately the local florist they hired did a good job, and the flowers looked nice. But the stress of dealing with them was absolutely not worth it, wish I would have just hired a local florist. Poppy is a large company and functions as a broker, so you have no idea if you'll work with someone good or not, versus as local florist who has actual reviews about their personal work. They asked me for feedback afterward and I gave them all of the above. Reviews swayed me a lot in my wedding research so I wanted to share my experience.

    Trust the process

We ordered twice from Poppy for our wedding. As anxious people we wanted to do a test round and thank goodness we did. The flowers come in a huge box but look pretty sad. After trimming them and getting in water they transformed into beautiful blooms. For the day of we supplemented with Trader Joe’s flowers. We ended up with enough for a bridal and 4 bridesmaids bouquets.
