“We loved working with Simply Fresh for our Torpedo Factory wedding. Brittany and her team were great with communication. All of our guests loved our food. I loved that Simply Fresh was flexible with us using other vendors such as Andy's Pizza for Late Night food and ordering homemade Pop Tarts and our wedding cake from M B Bakery. The catering staff was extremely gracious to not just the married couple, but all of our guests. They immediately responded to feedback when I wasn't a fan of the first signature drink they gave me and made sure all of the following drinks were perfectly stirred. One of the main reasons why we chose Simply Fresh is that they have a Virginia liquor license and were able to guarantee that our bar would not run out of alcohol. I think one of the best things about working with Simply Fresh is when we went to Select Rentals to pick out our linens/china/decor, etc. for the wedding they were very mindful about our budget and gave us guidance on what were the best items to use to give us an elegant feel to our wedding without breaking the bank. Given that the food and dance floor (fueled largely by alcohol) were such highlights for our guests at our wedding, we have Simply Fresh to thank in playing a large part in our big day.”

“Mariandree was a real gem to work with! We had originally planned our ceremony and small reception for Dec. 2020, but because of COVID had to make some changes. We kept our outside (super cold) ceremony for that December and Mariandree was more than willing to accommodate, given the circumstances. She was a real trooper out there with us on the freezing Waterfront, and we got some amazing photos back within a week! Mariandree was more than gracious to allow us to reschedule the second half of our photoshoot for September 2021 where we finally got to enjoy a small backyard reception. She brought her sister along as a second photographer for the first round, and her mom for the second. It made it really fun and relaxing because she got along so well with my own mom. Overall, I would definitely recommend Mdree Photography for your wedding! She is organized and makes sure to deliver. She has a really fun, youthful, and thoughtful personality, so expect to really enjoy having her capture your special moments.”

“It's hard to do anything but rave aboutUche and her team - Uche is incredibly creative, a consumate professional, and moreover just an all around awesome human being to work with. From the beginning, she was super responsive and took the time to help me figure out the look for my wedding (I wasn't starting from much - just knew I wanted a "secret garden" type feel). In our first conversation alone I knew she had a vision, and told her to go with it. The execution was so far above and beyond our expectations that words can't describe it. I loved and really appreciated the thoughtful proposal Uche put together (and changed several times at my annoying requests), but I really couldn't have imagined how beautiful everything would be the day of. We got married at District Winery, and Uche and her team took FULL advantage of the blank canvas-esque space, complete with hanging greenery installations and the most beautiful altar piece I've ever seen. My bouquet was also gorgeous - as were my bridesmaids', and the boutonnieres were amazing. I honestly had friends coming up to me telling me they loved the florals even more than what they had at their own weddings! Not only was the end result day-of perfect, but I know that Uche and her team worked tirelessly to get it done. When we had our rehearsal at the venue the afternoon before, they were there getting a head start (what other wedding vendor would do that!?) I could go on forever about how incredible Uche is (like the fact that she hosted my mom and I at her studio for over an hour to patiently talk through details, even as she was prepping for a big wedding the next day), but the bottom line is that if you want top notch creativity and professionalism all in one, you can't go wrong with Designs by Oochay. One final thing - a friend/guest of ours happened to be a former client of Uche's, and Uche made a specific point to find her at the end of the evening to say hello and give her a hug (which my friend was super excited about), even though it was after midnight and she was trying to disassemble everything - which I thought truly showed how warm and gracious she is, as well as how much her former clients love her!”

“On April 13, 2024, we held our wedding and reception at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. During the planning of our wedding, we worked with Amy, Sonia, and finally Katherine to create our ideal day. All were very pleasant, knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating with our arrangements, and were very responsive answering numerous questions that we had. The wedding set up was exactly as discussed and the transition from outdoor to indoor on the day of the wedding (way too windy a day for an outdoor ceremony) was seamless, thanks to the wonderful staff! The reception area, bar, and food was set up exactly as had been discussed and the food was delicious! All of the guests commented on how wonderful the food and staff were. Staff also was very helpful with connecting our music through the hotel's WIFI system. We were even given a room for dressing and preparing for the ceremony. The atmosphere was very relaxed and professional (but not stuffy) and we never felt rushed or anxious about any of the arrangements. The amount owed was exactly what we had been told so there were no surprises there. Overall, it was a perfect day and the staff and facilities at the Marriott couldn't have been any better. I would not hesitate to hold any future events there, knowing the kind attention paid to every detail to make every event special.”
