My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. “Georgette was amazing. We vibes right away because she was so enthusiastic and friendly. She checked in regular, was on time for every call and even reached out to remind me that we should check in. She wished me a happy wedding day the morning of and even the week before. Our pictures are beyond beautiful. I’m really so happy with all of them. The lighting was perfect. My only problem is picking photos to frame because there are too many beautiful ones. She blended right in with our wedding party, jumping in to help with my dress buttons and all! “Darcy was an absolute pleasure to work with and we LOVE our photos. She truly captured the emotions of the day and the essence of all the people we love the most. Any time i look at our photos, i find myself involuntarily smiling. She captured the classic posed photos AND the precious in-between moments where people are being their most authentic selves (the face my dad makes when he's really intently listening, the hand gestures my mom uses when she's explaining something and can't find the right words, the face my mother in law makes when she's cracking herself up, the face my father in law makes right before the tears fall, and so so many more). Not ONLY are her photos amazing, but she made us feel so relaxed on the day-of. Her style is totally unobtrusive, which is just what we needed. Darcy got such amazing photos of all our guests we put 4x6" prints in our thank you cards and people were SO appreciative. She's on fridges across America. Comments we've gotten in response to Darcy's photos: "WOW your photographer is phenomenal", "this is the best photo of us in existence", "you guys look so happy!", "I feel like the photographer really captured your personalities" If capturing joy is important to you, hire Darcy. My only regret is getting her for 7 hours instead of 9.”
