When I take photographs, my goal is to stay as true to the moment as possible. Hopefully, when you look at my photos years down the road, you won't just say "that's how we looked", instead you'll say "that's how we were". I love photographing - brides laughing with bridesmaids and close friends, champagne toasts (or whiskey), the point in the night when everyone switches from high heels to flip flops (or converse), drunk dancing, and, most importantly, stolen glances across crowded rooms.     Wedding Photo Review

    From our first conversation, we knew Darcy Troutman was the right fit for our wedding. She was open about what she could do for us, stayed flexible when we needed to shift things around, and made the whole planning process feel fun and stress-free. On the day of our wedding, Darcy went above and beyond by covering the fee to photograph at the Carlyle House and gave it to us as a gift—we were blown away by her generosity. She guided us through poses that felt natural and helped us capture moments that truly showed who we are as a couple. Her photos are stunning and intentional, with a candid quality that we love. We can't recommend Darcy enough and are so grateful to have her photos to remember our day.

    Fantastic Shoots with Darcy (Pigs and all!)

    Darcy was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! We interviewed a few photographers before we selected one for our wedding, and when we spoke with Darcy we felt an immediate connection and knew she’d be perfect. And we were right! She was always incredibly enthusiastic — including when we scheduled our engagement shoot at an animal sanctuary and asked her to walk into a pig pen full of 400-500 pound pigs. And the shots she got were absolutely wonderful. Our wedding day also couldn’t have been better. We got married in a church, and Darcy was incredibly cooperative with rules our church had in place related to where she could be and at what times, and she still got great shots. We absolutely loved her, and felt so comfortable knowing our wedding shots would be in safe hands. Our only regret is that we only are getting married once, so we don’t have another excuse to hang out with Darcy again.

    Phenomenal photography

    Finding a wedding photographer was overwhelming with the options available out there but the moment we reached out to Darcy, the choice was clear. Darcy was responsive from the start and set up a meeting with us right away detailing her process and had a proposed timeline so we could envision how she would fit into our day. We loved her documentary-style photography of capturing candid moments. Darcy really took time to research our venues and also got to know us and what photos we hoped to capture on the day-of. On our wedding day, Darcy blended right into our day and it was almost like she had a magical invisibility cloak. The amount of photos and scope of our event that she captured…it was like we had 2 photographers! We received our photos quickly and the video she created for us was a big hit with our guests. We cannot recommend Darcy higher and plan to call upon her for more photos!

    AMAZING Experience

    One of the best decisions we made with our wedding was to hire Darcy. From our very first phone call she impressed us with her desire to get to know us as a couple, the research she had already done about our venue and wedding day (including looking up the time of sunset a year in advance!), and her warmth. Through the whole process she was organized and communicative. On our wedding day, she did an amazing job making everyone feel comfortable around the camera. She managed to be incredibly kind while making sure everything ran on time. She got us our photos in record time and they are absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our special day.
