Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Having a background in Fine Art has informed the way I photograph everything. I understand and value the importance of sensing the emotions being held around me and what it means to capture those moments. Having knowledge on the history of photography has allowed me to cultivate a deep understanding for what makes an image truly ageless. My photography style walks the line between fine art and documentary. My goal is to freeze not only moments, but feelings in time - to create images that people can look back on decades later and FEEL the love, joy, and every emotion in between.

A Little Rain, Lots of Luck & Beautiful Photos!
Nina was absolutely fantastic to work with, and we couldn’t recommend her enough! From the planning process all the way through our wedding day, she was professional, communicative, and incredibly easy to work with. She was so flexible and accommodating, even when the rain threw us a few curveballs! Nina made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera and helped make the entire day feel effortless and enjoyable. Most importantly, she captured absolutely beautiful photos that we will cherish forever. We are so grateful to have had her as part of our special day and would highly recommend Nina and Ivy Quartz to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!

Fantastic elopement experience
On our wedding day, Nina brought such a calm energy that it felt natural having her part of our 3 person elopement party. The photos turned out stunning and really captured all the special moments we wanted to remember. We got great work at a fair price, which made the whole experience even better. We'd absolutely recommend Ivy & Quartz to any couple looking for a photographer.

Stunning photos!

Engagement Photo Perfection!
Nina came highly recommended from a friend and she didn't disappoint! She was flexible in terms of a weather delay and made us feel very comfortable. Since we're doing a wedding outside of the DMV, I asked specifically for a timeless/classic DC and she knocked it out of the park!
