Question 2

Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Accepted Answer

All weddings with more than 80 guests include a second photographer. I value second photographers as an important part of the storytelling of the day and hire only very experienced photographers whom I have also trained in my preferences. I usually don't include a second photographer in more intimate weddings because it can feel intrusive to have two cameras in a small group, but it depends on the logistics of the day.

Question 3

How many pictures will we get?

Accepted Answer

It depends on a number of factors, but you can generally expect an average of 50-100 images per hour of photographing. This estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.

Question 4

What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

Accepted Answer

I will do everything possible to find an equal replacement with a similar style at no additional cost to you, or provide a 100% refund of your payments (excluding the engagement session, if completed) and cancel the contract, allowing you to hire a new photographer of your choice.

Can I give you a Pintrest shot list?

Accepted Answer

A few goal shots are fine, but a long list can easily end up dominating and interrupting the day. It's important to remember that even in the same location, weather and dozens of other variables can affect our ability to recreate exact shots. Most importantly, your day is unique - it won't be like anyone else's! I encourage you to hire a photographer you trust and allow them to capture your day as it unfolds naturally as much as possible.

What is your approach to capturing a wedding?

During the planning process, we'll review your priorities. Generally, I'm directive on lighting and location, but I prefer as much of the day to unfold naturally as possible. So I'll step in when it's helpful to produce a better result, but I rarely stage events. I'm not intrusive during the ceremony and let the venue space guide my coverage. For some spaces, this allows me to capture multiple angles and distances; for others, it may be very limited. However, my priority during your ceremony is to not interfere with the guest experience. But later on, you'll find me in the middle of the dance floor getting up close with the action.

Question 7

What precautions to do take to back up our photos?

Accepted Answer

All of my digital cameras are “dual slot” which means each time I press the shutter, that image is saved to two memory cards. So, if one corrupts, there is an identical copy. When I get home, I download every image to two separate hard drives, and again, if one corrupts, there is an identical copy. My computer backs up to a third-party cloud storage service and a third hard drive, and I do not delete the memory cards until your final gallery is delivered. Memory cards are stored in a fireproof safe until your gallery is delivered.
