“We loved having our wedding at Fox Meadow Barn at Cloverdale Farm. The venue provides an excellent rustic yet modern backdrop for a wedding. Dixie, the venue coordinator, was extremely efficient, clear, and helpful in her communication throughout the planning process, providing guidance that helped us feel stress-free leading up to our big day. The barn has a great selection of decor that we were able to use to enhance our wedding aesthetic. The space itself is perfect for both the ceremony and reception, with beautiful scenic views. We were able to just have the place to ourselves for the day, and the day before for set up, and it felt so nice to be able to just choose our own vendors/bartenders/etc. and not be confined to preselected ones. We couldn't have asked for a better venue and are so appreciative of Dixie's expertise and the beautiful barn setting Fox Meadow provides.”

“My daughter and her husband chose Milton Ridge for their wedding venue. I live on the opposite coast so I had no opportunity to have a look myself. She and her husband were very happy with the layout of the property and the location. She assured me that staff were warm and friendly as well as very professional and that all questions were addressed promptly and in great detail. My daughter and her husband felt listened to and respected by everyone at Milton Ridge. I was anxious but it was their wedding and they had done a lot of research! I am overjoyed that they chose Milton Ridge for their very special day!! I spoke to many guests and family members that day and evening; everyone had high praise for the couple’s choice of venue. The property is self-contained with a beautiful turn of the century chapel on the lower level of the property and a very large bricked patio on the upper level; with an enormous wooden gazebo at one end and tiered garden area at the opposite end. Indoor or outdoor wedding?? Hard to choose as both areas are sooooo lovely. The Bridal suite and Grooms quarter are in a building adjacent to the chapel on the lower level of the property. Another turn of the century building with Bridal suite, porch and porch swing on the ground level and the Grooms quarters on the 2nd level via a private enclosed stairway; providing total privacy for both parties and their respective entourages. Both areas were very well appointed, comfortable and large; plenty of room for multiple people in each area to get ready for the big day! The Reception Hall was on the upper level with a porch and short stairway leading from the hall to the outdoor patio. The Hall was fresh and bright with plenty of room for DJ, tables, dance floor, bar and buffet without feeling overfilled or crowded. Bride and Groom chose the bar-b-que menu for their dinner; it was beautifully presented, delicious and plentiful. No one left Milton Ridge hungry that evening! The wait staff and bartenders were all very attentive and had obviously been very well trained at table service and bar service respectively. Music was provided by a DJ who was contracted by Milton Ridge and was included with the package that my daughter and her husband had chosen. The selection was a mix of old and new with the focus of getting the guests up and dancing. He was very good at his job and he accomplished his goal! Last but definitely not least; the photographer; also contracted with Milton Ridge! He was amazing!!! The unique shots, quality and beauty of his work left us speechless. He was everywhere, but never in the way, always inconspicuous and watching for that perfect candid shot. Even his posed photos had a very relaxed casual look about them. All photos were organized and available to the newlyweds on the Milton Ridge website within 10days of their wedding day!! ALL pictures belong to her and her husband to print, copy and share with whoever they wish!! Milton Ridge exceeded my expectation and I would never hesitate to recommend them to anyone!!”

“We first visited The Market at Grelen in the middle of December, and immediately knew that if it could look that beautiful in winter, it was going to be amazing for our October wedding. We had no idea how right we were. Grelen is filled with so much nature, is incredibly peaceful, and unbelievably gorgeous at all times of the year. The clear-top tent was a showstopper and all of our guests remarked how unique and beautiful it was, especially with the string lights. We were able to use almost all of the grounds for the most spectacular photos, from the greenest fields to their apple orchards and more. But most importantly, our ceremony location (the Berry Lawn) was just perfect. We had a smaller wedding with 80 guests and they fit so comfortably there, though the space could easily fit 150 at least. It was just the most beautiful location to get married, with the rolling mountains behind you as you say your vows. Their team was helpful from the very first day we stepped foot on the grounds, through all the wedding planning, and the wedding weekend itself. They sent us recommendations on vendors (which help us build our dream team -- they were all amazing!), kept us up to date on everything going on at the venue and shop (which has really good food, by the way. We had lunch there with our wedding party families before the wedding rehearsal), and double confirmed all details the week before the wedding. We also stayed at their 118 Suite property and really loved it! Also, they let you use some of their flowers and trees! This helped us save a bit on florals and really elevated every location. Our favorite were the magnolia trees in the tent :) Overall -- you will have an absolutely stunning wedding if you get married at Grelen!”

We were required to have a day-of coordinator, and were so happy we picked one of the staff members at Worsell: Ashlee. We stayed at the house on the property with our wedding party and it was perfect. “Our experience with Dover Hall was exceptional from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning and the level of care, professionalism and attention to detail from everyone we worked with there was unmatched. From our first tour of the venue we were blown away by the beauty of Dover Hall and all the unique areas it has for different parts of your wedding day and also by the level of hospitality – offering us champagne during the tour and giving us an amazing gift bag at the end of it. We had about 250 guests at our wedding and Dover Hall was more than able to accommodate this size. We planned to have our ceremony and cocktail hour outside, but it ended up raining on our wedding day, and they were able to seamlessly transition everything to be inside, without it impacting any other parts of the day. They did such an incredible job with it that we had so many guests who did not realize the ceremony and cocktail hour had not been planned to be inside all along. We had the pleasure of working with Rachel Kennedy as our event manager and she was an absolute joy to work with. She is truly one of the nicest people you could ever work with. From the moment we met, she was so friendly, kind and accommodating – always going out of her way to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of – and her enthusiasm about everything is contagious. She was quick to respond, flexible with requests and genuinely cared about making everything perfect for us. Her positive attitude and warmth made our entire experience with Dover Hall such a positive one. Rachel was always willing to go above and beyond for us whether it was giving tours of the venue to our family members when they were in town visiting or coordinating phone calls with Dover Hall’s amazing chef to accommodate our guests’ dietary restrictions. And this level of care and thoughtfulness carried on past our wedding day – we went to one of Dover Hall’s wine dinners a few weeks after our wedding that Rachel was hosting. Rachel so welcoming and excited to see us, and she even snuck us each one of our signature cocktails from our wedding during the dinner. It was such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to us. The entire staff at Dover Hall was incredible. Chef Leah is amazing – everything she makes is delicious, so we had the hardest time narrowing down our menu after our tasting with her. Every dish she makes is beautifully prepared and all of our guests were raving about the food at our wedding. We also stayed at Dover Hall the night of our wedding (and I stayed there with my sister the night before), which was such a great experience and something we would highly recommend. All of the staff made sure this experience was perfect, from the security guards there with us at night, to everyone checking in on us making sure all of our needs were met, to serving us the delicious breakfast that came with the overnight stay. We also had our rehearsal dinner at Bartizan, Dover Hall’s sister property, which was an equally wonderful experience, and we were lucky enough to work with Rachel for that as well. We highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a truly luxurious and unforgettable wedding experience.”

“If you are searching for somewhere to have the perfect outdoor wedding, look no further than Comus Farm. Lauren and Kara truly pulled out all the stops to make our wedding day unforgettable! In 2023, my husband and I were looking for wedding venues: we were very specifically looking for someplace that would not require a lot of decoration work, since we were planning the whole event ourselves. As soon as my husband and I arrived at Comus Farm, I said “this is it, I want to book this place.” The farm is located in pleasant countryside, and the farm itself has a very beautiful entrance through trees and sunny fields: many of our guests commented on how this made the drive from the off-site ceremony to the reception at the farm very enjoyable. We toured the rose garden, outdoor dining and dancing pavilions, and the large barn, all of which are airy and open, making it feel very welcoming. The farmhouse Airbnb was spacious, clean, and well decorated. Lauren and Kara were both so kind, and they provided a lot of information with us in our first meeting: we signed the contract about a week after seeing the place. Lauren and Kara used AislePlanner to help us get going with our wedding planning. The website is easy to use, and the provided checklist covered literally every single tiny detail you could possibly need to consider for the planning journey. I was especially pleased with the seating chart map, it made it so easy for us to track guest meals, stage table set up, and communicate special requests. It also prints out the layout really nicely if you need to send it to your catering company. Our wedding party stayed at the farmhouse Airbnb the night before and after the wedding. Everyone had a really fantastic time, there was more than enough space for the girls to get ready in the AM, and the food provided was delicious! During the reception, my grandparents enjoyed their dinner in the kitchen so they could get some quiet time and rest, but they were still close enough to the wedding so they could say hello to the guests and listen to the speeches happening in the dinner pavilion. I also cannot say enough about how much we appreciated Lauren and Kara’s thoughtfulness throughout the planning process and on the day. They patiently answered so many of our questions, and they allowed us to come by three separate times to see the farm and meet with our vendors. They coordinated the vendors without a hitch, and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing on the day of the wedding. Kara drove the two of us and our photographer out to more remote areas on the farm to get some portrait shots. Lauren coordinated some fun photos with the alpacas, which was a lot of fun! Comus Farm is truly a beautiful spot to have a wedding, complete with a team that made our day perfectly stress-free. I’ll definitely be looking for any other reason to book with them in the future :)”

“As soon as we took a tour of the Atrium, we knew this was the perfect spot to get married. The gardens are beautiful, and the inside the building the glass walls, plants, and little river give an airy and natural feel. I didn't worry about rain because you feel like you're outside even when you're in. When guests got too hot on the dance floor, they could go out and socialize on the patio overlooking the gardens in the cool night air. Given the meal prices for comparable venues, this venue is GREAT VALUE!! The food was great and the guests were happy. There were a couple small things that might be helpful to share, though. Our point of contact changed several times in the span of our engagement and there was sometimes a delay in communication. Also, the venue was marketed as a capacity of 200 people but it is better suited to weddings of 160-180 guests. When you go over 180, you have to choose some guests to seat in a room that feels divided by the little stream which is awkward. Also, there is no space for getting ready so brides and bridesmaids have to get ready off-site. Overall, I was overjoyed with having my wedding day here and I think for the price we still had an incredible experience. I don't regret it at all!!”

“The Old Farm Winery at Hartland was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the detailed emails to the coordinators' eagerness to help throughout the day, their communication style was spot on. The unique, farm-like, and homey atmosphere they provided was exactly what we were looking for. I worked to put together a detailed list of everything that needed to be set up, and they followed it perfectly to ensure we were running on time. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to set up the night before or run a rehearsal, but luckily it all went off without a hitch. The only minor issue was that we were told we could bring any alcohol that was purchased at a grocery store and we did. When it was served during our dollar dance - it was confiscated. I would make sure that this is more clearly communicated. Overall, the Old Farm Winery made our special day truly memorable. The weather was absolutely perfect which made the day even better”

“For Brookside, how does this sound? Brookside Gardens is a stunning place to get married. We got married in March, and despite fewer plants being in bloom, it was perfect. The daffodils and cherry blossom trees were stunning. We got married on Sakura Hill, under the twin Sakura weeping cherry trees, and although they weren't in bloom yet, the intricate branches and light buds looked beautiful. We took some newly-wed photos in the Conservatory, which is gorgeous year-round! Our reception was in the auditorium, which made it much easier and less stressful to plan for the possibility of rain. We DIYd our decor (ivy hung from the ceiling and curtain lights along the two walls), and it looked like an absolute dream! Jennifer, the event coordinator for Brookside Gardens, is extremely knowledgeable, organized, and responsive. She is very direct in her feedback, which was helpful. She was initially a little concerned about our auditorium decor plans, but she allowed us a couple of hours to do a dry-run when the space was not in use, and that was incredibly helpful to us to work out our kinks and surely also put her mind at ease. Because she is so knowledgeable about the gardens, she knew exactly the best spots for photographs, where most plants would be in bloom. The Brookside staff were also incredibly helpful on the day of the wedding. Since it's a public park, it's not closed off during the event, but staff blocked off key entrances to our ceremony space during the duration of our ceremony so that we had some privacy. They also drove the golf cart to transport our guests who needed accommodations, as well as to transport us from site to site. Brookside Gardens, being a Montgomery County Park, is also extremely affordable, and they offer a lower rate for MoCo residents. We added features to our contract like the fireplace and access to the Conservatory for photos, and it all fell within our small venue budget. One thing to note is that you're required to rent a dance floor if using the auditorium (we used Sammy's Rental and had a really good experience), which adds to the venue cost. You're also required to hire a full service and licensed caterer, but you can hire whoever you want as long as Brookside approves of them. That flexibility was incredibly important to us as we wanted to cater Indian food for our wedding, and most other venues require you to select from their short list of approved caterers. We loved our experience at Brookside Gardens, and we can't wait to regularly visit our wedding site (for free!) and remember how special our day was.”

“Like others have said, do yourself a favor and book the Manor at Airmont! When we toured The Manor for our wedding, we instantly knew that was it! “Overall, we were happy with our wedding at Briar Patch. I’m going to give an honest review about our experience below with both good things and some things to consider. Even with some things not going perfectly, we feel that we would choose this venue again if we had the choice. We were very happy with: 1. The ability to have a wedding weekend here for a relatively low price, the ability to have our rehearsal, welcome dinner, wedding ceremony, wedding reception, and breakfast on Sunday all at the same place but in different spaces onsite. This was very convenient and our entire wedding party could stay onsite with us. We enjoyed this. They gave my husband a Veteran’s discount, which we very much appreciated. The property is gorgeous, and we made use at our November wedding of the mountains in the background. T This fit our vision of a romantic rural venue that was elegant, but not pretentious, with lovely views. 2. Dan and Ellen were very nice to me and my husband. They brought us breakfast in the cottage on our wedding day so we could have a quiet breakfast together before the day started. That’s what we wanted. The Chef made my mom a special breakfast sandwich to order in the morning. They were accommodating about us bringing in lunch on Friday for the wedding party, snacks on the wedding day, and doing a customized breakfast for us on Sunday. We appreciated their ability to be flexible. 3. The fall colors were perfect, the horse was on property, we got amazing pictures under the stars, and we loved being able to make use of all of the spaces onsite for our different events. The scenery was really picturesque! The reception hall is perfect for a wedding reception and plenty of space for dancing. The location was close to Dulles for people to fly in and get there easily. 4. The cottage for the couple was fun and the kitchenette was nice. The bathtub was nice, and it was a good space for all of the ladies to get ready in on the day of the wedding, hang out, and have snacks. 5. On Friday night, we had a country western party themed welcome party and dinner in the space outside of the ballroom. We had adequate space to turn that space into a dance floor (near the fireplace) and set up food/drinks and tables for 50 in that space. Dan recommended Hammerdown BBQ, which is very nearby. We had people raving about the BBQ, saying it was the best cornbread they had ever had, and the best brisket. Things that could have been improved: 1. The rooms are quirky and there are insects and rodents around. If that is a deal breaker, than this may not be the place for you. It is rustic! That's part of the charm and also comes with some things that are unavoidable. 2. There are not bathrooms in all of the rooms and for some people in our wedding party, that was an issue. 3. There was some lack in communication between the owners and our wedding coordinators and caterer. 4. There were some issues where our coordinators couldn’t find Dan, Ellen, or staff on the day of the wedding when they needed them. 5. Some spots around the venue are not easily handicap accessible and there are not bathrooms at every site. Overall, we are satisfied with our choice to go with Briar Patch. It was a great choice and we have many happy memories and beautiful pictures from that day. For a wedding weekend near the DC area, you can’t beat the value and beauty of this venue!”

“We had our wedding at The Maine of Williamsburg and were blown away by their team. Tracy was friendly and enthusiastic from our first meeting to the big day. The venue itself is stunning, with so many different spaces to celebrate in. The weather threw us a curveball. It started pouring right as our ceremony was set to start under the patio. The team was so professional, working through our game plan. As we began the ceremony, the weather became too severe, and we had to pause, but Tracy was there the whole way, ensuring we handled the situation as best as possible while staying true to what my husbvendorsand and I wanted. I would not have wanted any other team around me. By the end of the night, I had almost forgotten the rain had ever interrupted. Their knowledge of the area’s area and coordination with them is unmatched. I am a worrier, and I felt so comfortable putting my wedding in The Maine’s hands. It is evident that Tracy and her team truly cared about making our day what we wanted. We could not have asked for a better team throughout the whole process.
