About this venue

The Carolyn Baldwin Lake Pavilion is named after our dear loved one, Carolyn Varner Baldwin, who unexpectedly passed away in 2008 due to an allergic reaction. She was the matriarch of our family and a beautiful, one-in-a-billion type of person with a generous and loving spirit. She was a talented gardener, a devoted fisherwoman who could out-fish the best of 'em (we're talking "sun-up-til-sundown" kind of fishing), was creative and artsy, and never knew a stranger. We felt it only fitting to name this lovely place in her memory. We are a family-operated business. Joanna is the General Manager and works with each client to accommodate varying event needs. She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. She has worked with over 200 wedding & event clients over the last 10 years and has learned quite a bit about weddings & event planning through her experiences.

    Joanna at Carolyn Baldwin is the best to work with. She is responsive and helpful and knowledgeable about the area and exactly what's needed for a successful event. The venue is picturesque and beautiful on the lake and the price is more than reasonable for what you get. Definitely recommend!

    I have DJ'ed there for years. Joanna has has always treated me and the clients wonderfully. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. Always quick to respond to any questions. The pavilion is a lovely place with a great view. I would recommended it for any type of event, not just weddings. DJ Baddog

    What I love about the Carolyn Baldwin Pavilion is that it offers a completely unique setting than many of the other rustic venues in the area. The pavilion is enclosed overhead to provide shade, but is still open all sides to provide that desirable outdoor wedding vibe. The space is intimate and romantic, set on a beautiful lake in the secluded country setting. Joanna, the owner, is professional, friendly and goes above and beyond to help her clients achieve their perfect day. Couples have the options to bring in the vendors of their choice, but are also given lists of preferred tried and true local businesses who will go the extra mile to make your day as smooth and successful as possible. 5 stars for sure!

    My husband and I were initially scheduled to get married in September of 2020, but we ended up postponing due to COVID until October of 2021. From contract signing through postponement and leading up to the final day, Joanna was a dream to work with. I was planning the wedding from New York, so I was really scared about all the details and worried because I wasn't able to come see things in person. The whole time Joanna was super helpful and made sure we had all the information we needed to have a wonderful day. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, no matter which season. We had our wedding right as the leaves were at peak foliage and it was beautiful. It was a little chilly the day of, but we were able to have the propane heaters running underneath the pavilion and all the guests had a great time. The sound system is really good, and it's so convenient to have the ceremony and reception in one place. The only caveat is that the pavilion is kind of isolated from anything else to do on the weekends except maybe some walking and hiking. However, this is compensated for in the price. You will be hard pressed to find a better financial deal with the offerings and capacity of the Lake Pavilion. GREAT if you are on a budget, and in my opinion you don't lose out on anything by picking this venue over something more expensive. Thanks Joanna, for everything!
