About this venue

Located in the heart of Southern Virginia is the hidden jewel of Mimosa Lake. As you drive through the majestic entrance you will know you have found the perfect place to start your life journey with the one you love. Mimosa Lake is located across from historic Lunenburg Courthouse. The courthouse was built in the late 1700s and is one of three Thomas Jefferson designed courthouses in the United States. Mimosa Lake is an ideal location for a destination wedding or event. It offers Southern hospitality at its finest. The centerpiece of the property is the 30-acre private lake backdropped by 300 acres of open fields and 400 yr. old evergreen trees providing year-round beauty and privacy for your ceremony. The 7200 sq. ft. rustic barn pavilion and 420 ft. covered veranda overlook the lake. We are 30 minutes from Farmville, Blackstone, and South Hill Virginia. We are less than 2 hours away from Lynchburg and Richmond, Virginia and Raleigh, NC. You've said Yes, now say I Do at Mimosa Lake.

    The Best Venue!

Where do I even begin?!? This venue is a hidden gem. You can tell the owners (Cindy & Robert) have put their life into their property. We got married here 2 weeks ago. From the moment we toured, we loved how many features there were! There’s a lake house for your rehearsal dinner, a large covered cocktail hour section, gazebo to get married at, a gorgeous man cave for the men, a bridal cottage for the girls to get ready, a bridal suite inside of the reception area to touch up before and after the ceremony, catering kitchen, a large bar, huge reception area with a stage, the list goes on and on! We included the decoration package in our package for our wedding. Cindy decorated inside and out. All I told her were our wedding colors and she hit the ground running. I only had to bring a few personalized signs and stock the bar! They cleaned up everything as well the day after. It was worth every penny to add the decoration package to our overall package. I don’t know of another venue to decorate everything for you. Cindy also provides you with day of coordination with your package. Our day was smooth sailing. We got tons and tons of compliments on the venue and the staff. If I could do it all over again, I would get married here again! 100% recommend.

    My wedding was absolutely perfect!

When my original venue fell through due to cost, I was stressed about starting over, but The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake turned out to be such a better choice. Cindy answered my questions fast and worked around my needs without any pushback, which made planning feel easy instead of stressful. The space itself is stunning with unique features like those bubble machines that got everyone talking, and we got incredible access time for nearly half the price of my first venue. On the day of the wedding, Cindy coordinated everything behind the scenes so I could just enjoy the moment without worrying. Guest after guest told me how beautiful the property was and how much they loved being there. My wedding day felt like a dream, and I'm so grateful we found this place.

    The Chernault wedding 10/05/24

From the moment we first spoke with the team at The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake, we were blown away by their amazing communication, attention to detail, and genuine warmth. They stayed on top of every aspect of planning our wedding, always thinking ahead to ensure our special day ran smoothly. The Foleys, who own the venue, were unfailingly polite, sweet, and helpful - we truly feel like we've made lifelong friends with them. The Pavilion itself is a stunning, one-of-a-kind space, with a beautiful, timeless rustic elegance that was exactly what we were looking for. The online photos don't do justice to the breathtaking natural setting, with the sparkling lake and lush grounds. It was the venue of our dreams, and we wouldn't change a single thing about our experience working with The Pavilion at Mimosa Lake. They helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect in every way.
