Sylvanside Farm was our first and only venue visit for our daughter’s wedding. The beautiful grounds and historical buildings on the farm made it an easy decision for us all. The owners, Terri and Jeff, have restored their property with utmost respect to its historical charm. Having on site lodging allowed both families to spend quality time together and hosting the rehearsal dinner on site made for an all around relaxing weekend. The curated list of preferred vendors, which Sylvanside provides, was very helpful and each vendor that we selected from their list was top notch. Terri and Jeff were very accommodating and responsive throughout the planning process and I highly recommend their venue for your special day.

From the moment we stepped onto the property at Sweeney Barn my husband and I knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding. It has rustic charm with modern flare. It truly is such a beautiful place and it wasn’t just a venue, it felt like home. Andrea from Sweeney Barn made everything seamless and truly a blessing. Andrea’s kindness and warmth make your experience that much more special and her organization and attention to detail put my mind at ease. I knew everything was going to be executed to perfection and it was!!! Sweeney Barn even offers you a variety of decor you can utilize which came in handy! What makes Sweeney stand out even more is they host open houses where their trusted vendors attend and you can browse and meet vendors. This was INCREDIBLE and we booked almost all our vendors at the open house making my life so much easier. On the day of the Sweeney Barn coordinator that was with us, Lisa, was a DREAM. She is enthusiastic and lovely! Not to mention she even took care of our dog before the ceremony, which was just so kind! Sweeney Barn is truly an amazing place to get married and I’m telling you right now go visit!!!

Milton Ridge was an incredible place to get married! The beauty of the venue and the inclusive wedding options (i.e. catering, DJ, etc.) made this the absolute perfect place to say, "I do!" The getting ready suites were superb & made the day of preparation before the ceremony seamless. The chapel was so beautiful and such a great little spot off the side of 355. Our guests still comment on the simplicity of how we decorated the chapel, and how beautiful the white walls and natural light streaming in were during the ceremony. I was not sure how we'd get group photos on the property... and our photographers were able to use the beautiful stone and green areas within the venue to capture the most beautiful photos of the bride, groom and the wedding party! Guests are still RAVING about how convenient it was to walk up a few stairs to the cocktail hour AND into the reception. They marveled at the ease... park your car, attend the ceremony and then stay and party all night long until it's time to leave! The reception hall was beautiful; the buffet food was to die for; and Meghan and Brandi ensured that EVERY detail of our wedding day was accounted for, seamless and flowing without any hitch! I cannot recommend Milton Ridge enough! Thank you for making our wedding day the most memorable and BEST day of our lives! We owe it to this team, this venue and their support with planning our wedding every step of the way!

If you are searching for somewhere to have the perfect outdoor wedding, look no further than Comus Farm. Lauren and Kara truly pulled out all the stops to make our wedding day unforgettable! In 2023, my husband and I were looking for wedding venues: we were very specifically looking for someplace that would not require a lot of decoration work, since we were planning the whole event ourselves. As soon as my husband and I arrived at Comus Farm, I said “this is it, I want to book this place.” The farm is located in pleasant countryside, and the farm itself has a very beautiful entrance through trees and sunny fields: many of our guests commented on how this made the drive from the off-site ceremony to the reception at the farm very enjoyable. We toured the rose garden, outdoor dining and dancing pavilions, and the large barn, all of which are airy and open, making it feel very welcoming. The farmhouse Airbnb was spacious, clean, and well decorated. Lauren and Kara were both so kind, and they provided a lot of information with us in our first meeting: we signed the contract about a week after seeing the place. Lauren and Kara used AislePlanner to help us get going with our wedding planning. The website is easy to use, and the provided checklist covered literally every single tiny detail you could possibly need to consider for the planning journey. I was especially pleased with the seating chart map, it made it so easy for us to track guest meals, stage table set up, and communicate special requests. It also prints out the layout really nicely if you need to send it to your catering company. Our wedding party stayed at the farmhouse Airbnb the night before and after the wedding. Everyone had a really fantastic time, there was more than enough space for the girls to get ready in the AM, and the food provided was delicious! During the reception, my grandparents enjoyed their dinner in the kitchen so they could get some quiet time and rest, but they were still close enough to the wedding so they could say hello to the guests and listen to the speeches happening in the dinner pavilion. I also cannot say enough about how much we appreciated Lauren and Kara’s thoughtfulness throughout the planning process and on the day. They patiently answered so many of our questions, and they allowed us to come by three separate times to see the farm and meet with our vendors. They coordinated the vendors without a hitch, and we didn’t have to worry about a single thing on the day of the wedding. Kara drove the two of us and our photographer out to more remote areas on the farm to get some portrait shots. Lauren coordinated some fun photos with the alpacas, which was a lot of fun! Comus Farm is truly a beautiful spot to have a wedding, complete with a team that made our day perfectly stress-free. I’ll definitely be looking for any other reason to book with them in the future :)

The venue itself is beautiful on its own (many of my wedding guests complimented the venue itself) and is a wonderful space to work in, both on the inside and out! I had a fairytale themed wedding that looked spectacular here. The decor room they offer saved us so much time and money and I was so amazed at what all they offered. Also because I know they are hard to find: they offer a wonderful GROOM suite as well as a bridal suite. We had so much fun here. Best venue by far!

Booking a wedding venue can be overwhelming and confusing, but Stover Hall is an easy choice. When my now husband and I toured this venue, we were so excited. It mixes barn style and winery style, with a classy yet homey feel to it. The owners/operators are incredibly kind and were happy to answer any questions we had about not only the venue, but wedding planning as well. My wedding was 04/12/26 and the weather was perfect, the cows were saying hi to our guests, and there were beautiful flowering trees near the arbor which made for picture perfect settings. Everything about this venue is top notch, from amenities to the people running it. I could go on and on. There’s not one spot on this property that doesn’t allow for beautiful pictures and the best flow. If I could get married (to the same man obviously) again and again, I wouldn’t do it anywhere else but here.

She handles a wide range of aspects of the business, from answering questions about what will make your event run smoothly to giving you layout suggestions. Montfair Resort Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding day. From the moment we first inquired, their communication was quick, easy, and mostly over email, making the planning process a breeze. The venue itself is truly gorgeous, with sweeping views and lush, soft grass that created a cozy and intimate atmosphere. Victoria, the on-site coordinator, was super hands-on in helping us plan the details, but also gave us the flexibility to put our own personal touches on the day. They provided all the tables and chairs we needed, and even set up beautiful tiki torches along the ceremony field. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and well-executed wedding celebration. Highly recommend Montfair Resort Farm to any couple looking for a stunning, rustic-chic venue with an amazing team to work with.

We couldn't have asked for a better venue than Riverside on the Potomac. From our first conversation throughout the big day, Suzi and made everything feel straightforward and stress-free with clear communication at every step. When we arrived, everything was spotless and organized, and Suzi went above and beyond by capturing candid moments between my dad and me before the ceremony which were photos we never would have gotten otherwise. The space itself is stunning and cozy, with just the right amount of room to accommodate any guest list comfortably. I’d also highly recommend working with coordinator Delia-Anne, who knows the venue inside and out and made planning feel effortless. Our wedding day was exactly what we imagined, and we owe so much of that to this incredible venue & owners!

The Barn at Tiffin Farm was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. The owners were incredibly responsive, kind, and easy to collaborate with throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself is absolutely stunning - the large barn doors open up to reveal a beautiful rustic space with breathtaking scenery all around. The bridal suite is especially impressive, with a luxurious and calming atmosphere. On the night of our wedding, when a storm rolled in at the end of the night, the owner even went out of his way to personally drive guests to their cars in his golf cart to keep everyone dry. We are so grateful for the Barn at Tiffin Farm team and the role they played in making our special day absolutely perfect.

From the moment we first pulled into the venue Dec 2022, we knew then we were going to love this venue. Before we even walked inside, the drive up and the scenery outside gave us such good vibes. Everyone here was such a big help in the planning process, and was always willing to answer any question we had all the way up to wedding day, May 11, 2024. There is lots of outdoor space as well as a huge inside space. Bridal and groom suite was spacious while we were there getting ready. We were able to handle all the final preparations on Friday, leaving Saturday morning completely stress-free. The true magic of this venue, however, lies with Kim and her team. They are, without a doubt, the best in the business. Their kindness, professionalism, incredible attention to detail, and seamless organization are unmatched. Cloverdale Barn is a fantastic venue! We got married there just over a year ago and still have the most vivid memories of the day, the surroundings and all the love we felt that day!! The people of Cloverdale Barn helped with that is so many ways. Claire is the one who I (bride) was in contact with throughout the whole process and she is so heartwarming and comforting! Very easy to work with and she makes you feel like family! From all the prep work, all the up to the last moment when we left the property through the sparkler line, Claire was there. They have several options to help you customize your event the way you want and Claire was open to the variations. We of course used it for our wedding and having the bridal suite on site was an added bonus for my day. I really liked how on the day of our wedding Claire added some pops of color to match our wedding colors with flowers in the outside flowers pots and table clothes on the bridal suite tables. She really does take the time to make your day feel extra special and I will forever be grateful to her and remember that day!!

I got married here in February of 2026 and had an incredible experience. The venue itself is beautiful, and we used many vendors that the venue highly recommends. Our entire experience was everything I could have wanted. We loved that we could minimize some of the vendor searches by using their included vendors. Sarah was super responsive when any issues did arise and everyone who attended has had amazing things to say about our wedding weekend. We got married in the chapel and it was the perfect spot for us and had so much natural light. Staying the entire weekend in the house with our best friends made this such a fun, memorable experience.

Like others have said, do yourself a favor and book the Manor at Airmont! When we toured The Manor for our wedding, we instantly knew that was it! Anthony and Natallia were so great to work with and so welcoming. We actually joked that if there was a fire, we wouldn’t even know and they would take care of it! Well, that’s kind of what happened (not a real fire, thank goodness)! I found one of our guest’s speeches in our guest book with a burnt mark and we had no idea. Natallia made our vision come to life! The food was fantastic and the staff and bartenders were amazing! Our guests continue to say they had such an amazing time and was one of the best weddings they had been to! So, if you want an all-inclusive wedding venue and to work with people that will take care of you and make your dreams a reality, then definitely choose The Manor at Airmont! From the design, the florals, the food, and guest experience, it was everything we could have imagined! Thank you Natallia & Anthony and your whole family!

About wedding venues in Virginia

Virginia combines breathtaking landscapes, historic charm, and versatile settings that make it an exceptional wedding destination. You'll find everything from the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains to stunning coastal settings where Virginia venues blend natural beauty with historic significance and genuine Southern hospitality. October tends to be the most popular month for wedding inquiries so keep that in mind when planning your special day.

What Makes Virginia Wedding Venues So Special?

Each Virginia region offers completely different venue experiences. Northern Virginia gives you sophisticated estates near DC with easy access to international airports for out-of-town guests. Charlottesville captivates with stunning vineyard settings where rows of grapevines create natural ceremony aisles you and your guests will remember forever. Richmond delivers historic urban venues featuring original hardwood floors and exposed brick that need minimal decoration. Coastal Virginia offers waterfront venues with direct beach access and those unobstructed sunset views that make for incredible wedding photos.

How Much Do Wedding Venues in Virginia Cost?

Virginia wedding venues typically cost between $8,100 and $9,800 with the average venue running about $8,952; that's only 18% of your total wedding costs which is actually better than the national benchmark of 25%. Most couples across the US spend between $6,500-$12,000 on their venue. Your total wedding budget will largely depend on your guest count: - 50 guests: $22,085 - 100 guests: $36,804 - 150 guests: $50,641 - 200 guests: $63,007 - 250 guests: $75,372 - 300 guests: $87,738

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in Virginia?

Shadow Creek in Purcellville features fully handicap-accessible facilities with wheelchair-accessible parking and can accommodate up to 300 guests so everyone on your list can join comfortably. Rixey Manor in Northern Virginia offers ADA accessibility for all event spaces except the rooftop and works well for gatherings up to 200 guests. Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art provides mobility-accessible spaces with free on-site parking including an atrium that can seat up to 200 guests in a unique cultural setting.

Which Virginia Venues Support Remote Participation?

The Mill at Fine Creek near Richmond and Charlottesville is perfectly equipped for coordinating hybrid wedding logistics with on-site guest cottages and a team that's experienced in customizing wedding experiences for your specific needs. Stevenson Ridge in Spotsylvania offers flexibility that could easily accommodate remote participation for guests who can't attend in person. Tranquility Farm in Purcellville provides a 48-hour Weekend Wedding Experience giving you plenty of time to incorporate virtual engagement options for distant loved ones.

What Are the Best Food-Forward Wedding Venues in Virginia?

Dover Hall in Manakin-Sabot features Chef Leah's exceptional cuisine in an elegant setting surrounded by priceless paintings and lavish furniture your guests will talk about for years. 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church combines exquisite dining with stunning water views that create an unforgettable backdrop for your celebration. Mount Ida Farm in Charlottesville's wine country offers comprehensive wedding experiences spread across 5,000 acres of scenic landscape. Clifton Inn features a European-style setting with food sourced from their organic vegetable garden and an impressive wine cellar your guests will love.

How Can You Find Your Perfect Virginia Wedding Venue?

Start by identifying venues that work with your guest count and budget while offering your preferred indoor/outdoor options. You should definitely visit potential venues during your preferred wedding season to see exactly how lighting conditions and climate will affect your big day. Ask specifically about vendor policies since Virginia venues range from all-inclusive packages to complete vendor flexibility where you can bring in your own team. For comprehensive wedding planning consider using services that offer vendor marketplaces with detailed information on capacity amenities and pricing. These often include registry and guest management systems that make your entire planning process much smoother from start to finish.
