What was once the first Chinese Opera House on the East Coast now houses contemporary Chinese restaurant, Chinese Tuxedo, and lively cocktail bar, Peachy’s. Each venue can be booked separately or together for private events. I love photographing weddings at Manhatta restaurant in downtown Manhattan. The team at Manhatta couldn't have been more professional, accommodating and friendly! The last couple I photographed at Manhatta had such a great time, which was evident in the joy and love in the photos. The rooms were infused with light and a beautiful warm glow at sunset. The views of the city were breathtaking - the guests were very impressed. There was ample room for the couple of have a band perform and to also dance the night away with all of their family and friends. I highly recommend this venue!

We had the best night of our lives at Peasant celebrating our wedding. We chose this restaurant because we always loved the food and romantic cozy atmosphere. When we had to quickly pivot our wedding plans to a smaller venue (4 weeks from our date!), they were our first call. The team at Peasant sprang into action and delivered the wedding we always dreamed of. We had our ceremony in front of the beautiful brick oven. We barely decorated the space because it's already so gorgeous. Our 70 guests sat at long tables for an incredible family style meal. The space quickly transformed into a dance floor, and a friend of ours DJ'd our favorite music. If you're looking for an intimate venue where you can relax and soak up the pure joy of your wedding day, Peasant has the vibes. Our guests still rave about the rigatoni alla vodka, the espresso martinis, and the kindness of the team months later. We keep going back for dates because we can't possibly get enough, and Peasant will always hold a special place in our hearts.

The Gran Morsi team will be in my heart forever! After not reading my contract carefully enough (READ THE FINE PRINT EVERYONE, DON'T BE LIKE ME), I realized I had booked the private event space for my wedding welcome party on the day of my wedding... and came to this realization as all our guests were already at the restaurant. Skyle appeared like an angel, and within 30 minutes she pulled together the event we had scheduled for the next day, including every appetizer in our contract and even the playlist we had sent. The professionalism and grace of the team and Skyle especially was truly unmatched. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant's food, its atmosphere and its caring and committed staff.

Le District
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
New York, NY
  • Up to 1500 guests
  • All-inclusive
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $2,500

Perfectly suited for casual corporate gatherings, romantic waterfront engagement parties, or lavish prix fixe dinners, each of our spaces uniquely caters to your event's character. Create your distinctive moment with us.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides lighting and sound
  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Provides setup and cleanup

Venue considerations

  • No on-site bridal suite
  • No on-site guest accommodations
  • Does not allow pets
Our guests and we had a wonderful experience at Le District at our wedding in May 2022. Since our family abroad couldn't make it to the wedding, we were only looking for a space to host a dinner for our 50 or so friends and we thought about Liberty Bistro in Le District since we used to live in the BPC area and had brunch there and we thought the interior design was beautiful and the size of the place fit our needs perfectly. The location is just perfect by the waterfront with an amazing river view and there is also an oval lawn right outside in which we thought about doing the ceremony but unfortunately, we eventually had to do it at Belvedere Plaza 200 feet away since it just so happened that the lawn was closed for maintenance that day. The Liberty Bistro restaurant was able to book out the entire indoor dining space for us without venue fees provided that we meet a spending minimum on food and wine. We had a great experience nailing down the food and drink menu with them - the restaurant had great options and communications were effortless. We were able to bring our own flowers and balloons and our friends DIY'ed the decorations though there wasn't too much to decorate since the space already looked nice and sweet. We also had our own seating plan which involved moving the tables and chairs and Le District was able to help us with it too, apart from the booths which cannot be physically moved. The night went smoothly; we were able to hook up an iPad to the sound system and play our own hand-picked wedding playlist; The guests enjoyed a 3-course prix-fixe menu (with additional vegetarian options); we also did our first dance under the beautiful tree in the center of the restaurant. At the end of the night, when we net out a few hundred under the min. spend, the restaurant was able to throw in a couple of champagne bottles for us to take home. We wish we could share photos of that wonderful evening to show how great it was and we really appreciate Le District for the great food and drinks, service, and communications, and just for being the place where it all happened.

The Standard, East Village
Rating: 4.0 (1 review)
New York, NY
  • Up to 50 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor

Located off Cooper Square in one of New York’s most vibrant, artistic neighborhoods, The Standard, East Village is cozy, charming, and eccentric in equal measure—very much in the spirit of its surroundings. You enter the 21-story tower through an original tenement-style building before ascending to unparalleled views of Manhattan from the hotel's crowned jewel, The Penthouse. There’s a quiet, calm garden tucked away at street level that in the warmer months is filled with lush topiaries and floral arrangements, and in the cold season transforms into a magical winter wonderland. On the second floor, The Overlook is a cozy room perfect for a rehearsal dinner or cocktails, connected to The Perch which overlooks The Garden. Downstairs, there's Narcissa restaurant, which boasts its own private terrace, the street-side Café Standard, and NO BAR, a highly inclusive new wave gay bar with custom artwork and a disco ball.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Exudes style
  • Has an intimate feel for a small guest list
  • Private area for the wedding party

Venue considerations

  • Lighting and sound are not included
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Better for more intimiate events
Having never been privy to what goes into a wedding reception, I was in the dark about a lot. So, I had difficulty understanding what to choose and how much our choices would cost. If it wasn’t for the close proximity to the church, I may have chosen a different venue for our reception. The food and beverage was the biggest expense and the biggest source of confusion. The real disappointment of the F&B was the limited amount of food. The shrimp appetizer was good. However, there was so little, if you didn’t grab some, it was gone. Of the three entrees to choose from, the only one that was any good was the fish and the portion was less than one would reasonably expect for an entree. The chicken was dry and hard, a huge disappointment. The lemon tart dessert was good. The space itself is very nice. Fortunately, it was just the right size for our reception.

Our private social club hosted a social mixer on a Tuesday at The Folly and our guests had a great time! We were a group of about 15 and the beautiful mezzanine area worked perfect for us. Aron, Jon and Ina were a pleasure to work with. Aron was very responsive and timely in communication and Jon and Ina were friendly on site the evening of our event. No reservation fee or food and drink minimums were required which is difficult to come by in beautiful NYC spaces. I look forward to reserving again!

We recently we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at King, our favorite neighborhood spot, and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect day. To have our wedding here was like having the ultimate family/friend celebration, wrapped in love and familiarity. King is a blend of intimate charm, and NYC energy, and feels like a warm gathering at a friend's home. The attention to detail and care from the staff was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The food, as always, was spectacular. Guests are still raving about the incredible flavors—and as the bride asked for seconds. From the pre-luncheon starters, and the DREAMY pasta to the main courses, every bite was a reminder of why we adore this restaurant. Sharing our favorite dishes with our family and friends was like sharing a piece of our life story. What truly made the day unforgettable, though, was the team at King. They weren’t just serving food; they were a part of our celebration. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care for us and our guests made us feel like we were surrounded by family. Our wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a reflection of who we are as a couple. Having it in a place that feels like home made it all the more meaningful. King and all of the wonderful staff, thank you for helping us create memories we’ll treasure forever. Here’s to more celebrations, anniversaries, and date nights at the place where it all began.

Houston Hall

This venue space features a unique, large and open-spaced floor plan. Houston Hall has the ability to accommodate up to 225 guests comfortably when seated. In addition, we have a spacious, private dressing room that overlooks the hall. This is where you can get ready before your walk down the aisle. Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No built-in audiovisual options

I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about Houston Hall. Carlita and Isabel made sure our entire wedding day went flawlessly. From the start, Carlita worked closely with us during the tasting to ensure all our guests’ dietary needs were accommodated. With several family members living with celiac disease, including my dad, this was incredibly important to us, and she handled it with so much care and attention. The food and drinks were outstanding. We chose a few specialty cocktails that were a huge hit, and our guests ravedabout the food. At most weddings, the food is forgettable, but Houston Hall completely exceeded our expectations, everything was truly delicious. Beyond that, Carlita and Isabel made the planning process so seamless and stress-free. They ensured we had everything we needed, coordinated with all of our vendors, kept the schedule perfectly on track, and made my wedding day feel effortless. I knew everything was being expertly handled and that we were in the best hands. The venue is such a unique and amazing place, and everyone felt so welcomed. Additionally, they provided a list of vendors they work with regularly, which was phenomenal. They went above and beyond in every way and delivered the most perfect day. I am endlessly grateful and couldn’t recommend Houston Hall more highly.

Temperance
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
New York, NY
  • Up to 75 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $1,500

A vibrant and unpretentious West Village restaurant and wine bar with the best by-the-glass wine list in the world. Our food menu is Mediterranean-inspired and includes an eclectic assortment of small, but shareable bites. Our space is ideal for parties and receptions, but due to its floor plan, does not lend itself to wedding ceremonies or presentations where sight lines are critical.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Provides a dedicated team on-site
  • Creates a sense of togetherness
  • Multiple event spaces

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • No on-site bridal suite
  • Dance floor not included
As I planned our surprise engagement, I wanted to choose a location to go after that moment to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family that resonated with both of us, so our local wine spot, Temperance, was perfect. Having no idea whether they would even consider a private party I reached out through an email on the website and quickly realized how kind and accommodating the staff was. We were able to rent out the back patio and fully customize the space with our own set up and outside decorations. As a part of the space rental we were allowed an allotment of more than enough food and, more importantly, a customized collection of reds, whites, oranges and rosès. I’d recommend letting the staff pick the specific wines, they’re the experts after all (they did pick one special wine just for us and immediate family based on my specific request, but I like to pretend that was just for me). It was the perfect place to celebrate with around 25 of our closest friends and family. The one downside was they have a hard cutoff of 10pm due to some vocal neighbors but the staff was very upfront throughout the booking process that that was going to be the case, so there were no surprises. Additionally, because of how much we love the aesthetic inside near the bar and the room fronting Carmine Street, we also asked if we could start our engagement photo shoot at Temperance before they opened one night. Once again, we were met with a staff that went out of their way to help us anyway they could and even gave us a glass of wine each to take the edge off of some poses that feel extremely ridiculous in the moment, but turned out to be great pictures. We were as happy with those pictures as we were with both of those experiences at Temperance.

My husband and I hosted our wedding celebration for 55 people at Lume West Village on a Sunday night in June and we had a wonderful experience. tldr; the staff are wonderful and organized, the food is amazing, and the decor is really fun and pretty. For context: I always wanted to do a restaurant buyout for our wedding reception. I knew that our format would be a little non-traditional, in that we wanted a cocktail hour, seated dinner, and speeches, but no dancing. I really cared a lot about (1) food and drink quality and (2) finding a venue that looked nice without us having to bring in flowers or a ton of extra decoration. I spent several months looking into NYC restaurants (focusing on Manhattan and Brooklyn) that could host this kind of event and ultimately got quotes/details from more than 30 potential venues. Lume West Village was by far and away the best in terms of price-to-value ratio, especially for Manhattan. We booked about 9 months in advance of our event. In the months leading up to the party, I was impressed by how nice they were about answering all of my questions (for example, I had a lot of questions related to accommodating some guests' food allergies). Huge shout-out to Bridget! Our day-of experience was also perfect. I actually had *not* visited the venue before the day-of and I was blown away by how stunning the space was (the globe light display does not disappoint; I also liked the photographic art on the walls). Truly everything with the restaurant went off without a hitch. The manager Naya was available all day to help with odds and ends (for example, to receive a catering delivery for food for a few guests who kept strictly kosher) and help set up place cards and table labels. She also helped make sure that I was kept supplied with drinks/etc. even though I spent the evening running around. And the food and cocktails were EXCELLENT: We are foodies, we did the premium buyout menu, and we were very happy. (Much happier than we were with our welcome party dinner venue, which my mother chose and which was at a different Manhattan restaurant.) I really could not be more grateful to Lume for giving us such a wonderful wedding party.

My party had 80 guests and we had the entire 2nd floor to ourselves which included our own bar and bathroom. Taylor (the party planner) and Will (the manager) were great to work with and quickly answered my (many) questions leading up to the event. I visited about a dozen bars and restaurants in the area and Tavern 29 had the best space by far. Their pricing was very reasonable and they were flexible with me on the structure of the pricing. They had more food options than I was expecting and everything was delicious. They really made everything so easy, and I am very grateful as the entire party went perfectly.

Morgan ran the event with impressive organization and professionalism, keeping everything flowing perfectly from start to finish. Their Events Team was communicative from beginning to end - helping to plan Cocktail Hour, Seated Dinner, a Late Night Snack, and more. My husband Dustin held our reception at Albert's Bar in April. My goodness I cannot begin to say enough about how picture perfect this venue is! Not only is the space itself beautiful and unbeatable, the team behind Albert's Bar are among the nicest and most helpful I've ever worked with. Their events lead Jenn was with us every step of the way, the manager Pete made us feel so seen & heard, and a massive thank you also to Abby for executing every detail for us on the day of the big event! The bar tenders and wait staff completed enamored my family & friends (and how kind were they to humor us in our excessive enthusiasm!) There are so many areas of our experience to rave about... Quite honestly, my family and friends are *still* waxing poetic about their big night out in midtown. This venue absolutely elevated the experience of everyone who attended. We had several high profile attendees from out of town who mentioned more than once that they were "completely blown away by Albert's". My guests who were local were equally impressed. This venue made us look as cool as we think we are ;) Run, don't walk, to secure your wedding space with Albert's. It's the most hidden gem of an option in New York that exists in today's landscape, I can assure you of that. 0% chance you won't have the best day & night of your life if you take this route, as we did! 3 Kate & Dustin

A sophisticated Mediterranean oasis. The decor reflects a modern yet warm connection with nature. Greenery projects from the ceiling, art deco-style mirrors adorn the walls, and custom woodwork art installations create an ambiance that is both cozy and sophisticated. The large glass windows flood the space with natural light, enhancing the earthy color palette of old wooden tones, greenery, and volcanic rock fused with geometric, 3D shapes. The semi- private dining space “ La Mascaret” has its own drinks counter, as well a custom- made undulating wooden sculpture mounted on a wall ( it’s meant to replicate teisting vines and flowing waves, natch) and a glass- encased wine cellar holding over 700 bottles.

Having a Celebration of Life was definitely more focused on the positives of a sad occasion but it's nonetheless stressful. You still have all of the responsibilities of the hostess and getting your relatives there on time and making decisions prior to the event. I can't thank the staff at the Benjamin enough for guiding me through the process and for handling everything when we got there. I really didn't feel like I had much to handle when we got there. We were able to decorate the way we wanted to and were provided with a tv to run a slide show. One more thing...the food was great!
