“Choosing to have our wedding at Camp Timber Lake was probably the single most important decision we made during the planning process. The camp setting gave us the opportunity to create something far more immersive, personal, and joyful than we had imagined, and the camp / Gatheround staff and everyone involved in the planning process gave us the ability to execute on making all our dreams come true! In the months leading up to the wedding, we worked closely with Will, who was incredibly friendly, responsive, and on top of every detail. He always made time to talk through our many questions and helped accommodate some of our more unconventional requests—from having Camp Timber Lake cater our Sunday reception dinner (which we highly recommend!) to brainstorming the best locations for a nighttime game of kick the can. The camp itself is absolutely beautiful and was perfectly manicured for our arrival. There were endless activities for our guests to enjoy, and the staff placed sports equipment throughout the property so everyone could immediately jump into whatever interested them. Our guests had so much fun exploring the grounds, tossing frisbees and footballs, shooting hoops, and making the camp their own for the weekend. The staff including Reggie, Scott, Liz, Willow, Marcie, and so many others, were AMAZING. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the weekend special. Scott and Liz stayed on top of every detail, and the entire team continually went above and beyond to make our guests feel welcome and cared for. When one of our guests lost her phone in the dining hall after hours, the team turned the lights back on and helped her search for it. After she mentioned that she was having trouble turning on the heat in her cabin, they walked over to help, then returned 15 minutes later with brownies and ice cream for her and her cabin-mates as a nice surprise. Another favorite moment happened on the dance floor Saturday night. We had brought bubble guns but realized too late that they required batteries we didn’t have. We’d given up on using them, but when Willow (one of the camp staff) overheard a friend say, “I wish we had batteries for these bubble guns.” he went and tracked down batteries from TV remotes around the camp on his own accord and got the bubble guns working. They ended up being a huge hit! Moments like these, and so many others, made us feel completely at home and made our guests feel incredibly well cared for. The food was also outstanding. We received rave reviews about every meal. The team went out of its way to accommodate dietary preferences and restrictions, providing hearty vegan and vegetarian options at every meal. They even prepared a special plate every meal for my mom, who has an autoimmune disorder that prevents her from eating most spices. The team also decorated dishes with edible flowers and made everything look beautiful. For our reception dinner on the final night, they even came up with the idea of displaying leftover Boy Scout patches from one of our weekend activities along the buffet counter. It was the perfect thoughtful touch. We had multiple guests tell us that this was their favorite wedding they had ever attended, and Camp Timber Lake (and the wonderful people who run it) were a huge reason why. Thank you for giving us and our guests such a magical, joyful, and unforgettable weekend. It truly was the best weekend of our lives! Can’t recommend this wedding venue enough!”

“My wife and I came to them on short notice and with a lot of stress due to the time/money expenses of planning the big day. Renee was unfailingly kind, endlessly patient and always upbeat. Putting it simply, the crew at Adena are wonderful people who are very good at their job. The day itself went off without a single hiccup. Every typical issue that we encountered - such as delays on our part, or things I forgot- was handled before I even fully aware of it. They did their jobs calmly and joyfully, and helped reassure my anxious wife (and my surprisingly anxious self). The location is absolutely beautiful, maintained expertly and decorated perfectly. Our reception was elegant and rustic, with clear views of the blue sky outside making a very pretty backdrop to celebration. The Wooded Cathedral was where we had our reception, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s dreamed of an outdoor wedding in the country. My wife and I are so happy that we switched venues to Adena. We’re thrilled that they’ve left us with these memories, and we are so happy to call the team at Adena friends. Thank you guys for helping us start a marriage on the highest possible note.”

“Windham Manor was everything we could have wanted. Susan and Barry are amazing! We got married outside in the enchanted forest in Nov ‘24 and it was beautiful. The barn was a fantastic place to host our 200 guests for our reception. The house that you can rent right next to the barn fits 33 people and is perfect for your wedding party to stay. We hosted our rehearsal dinner and after party right at the house as well. Karen, the house manager went above and behind to assist us throughout our stay.”

“Everyone loved our wedding. We had so much fun swimming, boating & fishing in the lake on the days before the wedding. We not only rented the 3 cabins on the property, but we also put up glamping tents near the cabins. We had 32 people staying here for 3 nights and 4 days. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch the day after the wedding under a beautiful tent alongside the lake. It was breathtaking. My family and friends can’t stop talking about how much fun our 4 days together were. The owners are in a cabin at the back of the property, so they were there for us whenever we needed them all week.”

“The Inn at West Settlement was the perfect place for our wedding. Photos can’t even begin to capture the magic of this place. There are flowers EVERYWHERE, the mountains and trees are stunning, and the barn has such a unique charm. Kim is lovely and worked with us very well to make sure our wedding ran smoothly. The rest of the team at The Inn at West Settlement is also AMAZING. We loved working with them and just getting to know them as people. One thing to note is that communication with many of the Catskills vendors we worked with is much easier through phone calls rather than email! That was a learning curve for us - as Gen Z girls, we’re so used to doing almost all our communication via email or text. We used Kim’s recommended vendors for everything and loved every one of them. The food by Stacy was absolutely incredible, dessert (also by Stacy) was beautiful and delicious, our DJ Max (recommended by Kim) was perfect and so easy to work with, the bartending team was so fun and on top of everything, and our photographer Liz who we found through Kim’s recommendation was amazing. One of our favorite things about the weekend was getting to help make the magic happen on Friday. We all had so much fun going through the cutting garden & picking flowers for the bouquets, boutonnieres, and table arrangements. They have so many great decor items (tea light holders, frames, window panes & chalkboards for signage) in their prop room - definitely a major perk of the venue & makes for a fun day-before selecting and setting up your decor! I can’t say enough about how much we loved getting married at The Inn at West Settlement. There is something magical about this place and we are so grateful that we got to celebrate our wedding there. I truly cannot recommend this place enough!”

“We are absolutely at a loss for words to describe how incredible our wedding at Plattekill Mountain was. From the moment we pulled up to the venue, we knew this place was something truly special. The breathtaking scenery alone sets the stage for a magical day, but what really makes Plattekill stand out is the incredible team behind it. Danielle, Autumn, Shannon, Bob, and every single person we interacted with went above and beyond in ways we couldn’t have imagined. This venue is gorgeous, but it’s the staff that truly makes it shine. They are so well-polished, so professional, and yet so warm and caring at the same time. It’s clear that they’re not just in the wedding business—they’re creating memories and crafting perfect experiences with love and intention. From day one, they made us feel like our wedding was just as important to them as it was to us. Every little detail was handled with such care, and every suggestion they gave us made our day that much more magical. There is something undeniably special happening at Plattekill Mountain, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have had our wedding there. Our friends and family are still telling us it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and we agree—it was the best weekend of our lives. If you're browsing venues and Plattekill has caught your eye, stop looking. This is the strongest recommendation I will ever give. Not only will you have no regrets, but it will be the most beautiful, joyful, and unforgettable day of your life. We will be forever grateful for the memories we made at Plattekill Mountain and can’t wait to return to relive the magic for years to come.”

“We had our wedding reception at Pine Ridge Farms and what a magical and unforgettable experience we had! You can see the Catskill Mountains from the property and the views are breathtaking. The owner, Ms. Gioja was truly wonderful and she made the planning process seamless for us. Which was so important, because it was my first time and she was patient and so very accommodating. It was apparent that she wanted the bride to be happy!!! She was an absolute blessing to us and her team as well! Being able to celebrate with our family and friends at a place that added such beauty and magic was what I wanted! I always say to Ms. Gioja that her place makes you feel at peace, being away from the business of this world and to be surrounded by sounds of nature. What a feeling?! Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if you're thinking about having your event at Pine Ridge Farms, you will not regret it!!!”

“When we started planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted our guests to truly experience the simple beauty of the Hudson Valley. That is what led us to the Abeel House. Our entire day was magical. I walked down the aisle on a little pebble path, surrounded on both sides by wildflowers. Our wedding guests were seated on hay bales in the prairie, the sun on their backs and the stream behind them. After our ceremony, we celebrated in the restored barn behind the historic Dutch stone house. We split the barn into three sections — one to seat our guests for dinner, one for the dance floor, drinks, and dessert tables, and one for the local bluegrass band we hired. As evening came, we turned on the twinkle lights in the barn and danced the night away. You could see the stars through the open windows.”

“Our wedding weekend at Black Walnut Farm was nothing short of extraordinary. I had always dreamed of more than just a single day or a few hours of celebration. I imagined a full weekend surrounded by our favorite people, celebrating a love I had hoped for my entire life. Black Walnut Farm made that dream a reality in the most magical way. My fiancé and I got engaged in June 2024 and waited until August to begin planning so we could savor being engaged. Black Walnut Farm was our first venue visit. During their open house, we explored the property while enjoying signature cocktails and bites, and we immediately felt at home meeting Jim. His warmth, charisma, and genuine spirit set the tone for everything that followed. The estate is breathtaking. Acres of beauty, an enchanting forest, whimsical gardens, and a farmhouse filled with stunning, eclectic antiques. Within minutes, we knew our search was over. As we left, Jim smiled, saying he could tell we had found “the one.” The planning process was seamless and stress-free. As someone who goes with the flow, I was amazed by how organized and supportive the team was. Timelines, documents, and communication were clear and thoughtful. Sarah, co-owner and Jim’s partner, made the experience effortless. While the venue is largely a la carte, Sarah provides a curated list of trusted vendors so you never feel lost. Together, Sarah and Jim are an unmatched team. We chose the weekend package, allowing us and six guests to stay in the farmhouse from Thursday through Monday. Walking in felt like stepping into a dream. We were greeted with a handwritten card, a charcuterie board, and champagne. Fresh banana bread, muffins, and cookies were displayed, the refrigerator stocked with snacks, drinks, and s’mores essentials, and a bar cart held homemade old fashioneds. Every room included robes and fresh water by the bedside, and fireplaces were ready with stacked firewood. Our honeymoon suite was spacious and cozy, with its own fireplace, sitting area, and clawfoot tub. Black Walnut Farm even created a custom flag with our names and named a tree in our honor, a meaningful and unforgettable touch. On Friday evening, we hosted our rehearsal dinner for fifty-five guests in the barn, which perfectly blends rustic elegance with antique details and warmth. The staff’s pride and attention to detail were evident, and Jim, Sarah, or Lindsey were always nearby to ensure everything ran smoothly. After dinner, my bridesmaids and I returned to the farmhouse for a cozy night by the fire watching Father of the Bride. Our wedding day was pure magic. We got ready together in a sun-filled room, sharing laughter and happy tears. We exchanged vows in the forest, a fairytale setting. The celebration continued in the barn with cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and dessert. Guests loved the barn loft, complete with a photo booth and a phone for leaving messages. Although the weather prevented our planned bonfire hour, Sarah and Jim graciously extended our time in the barn, ensuring the night remained just as special. This weekend was the best experience of our lives. Our friends and family still talk about how incredible it was. We are endlessly grateful to Sarah, Jim, Miss Lily, and the entire Black Walnut Farm team for creating a wedding weekend we will cherish forever.”

“An absolute dream of a wedding venue! I recently got married at FVM in early September and could not recommend more. So many positive things to say… see below! First and foremost, the venue is tucked away in the most charming area of the Hudson Valley, surrounded by beautiful greenery and very well-kept grounds. Our guests not only raved about how gorgeous the space was, but also how fantastic the food was (s/o to the King, Chef Charlie), how the drinks were superb (a wedding essential), and how the staff was super helpful and friendly (thank you FVM team)! However, the true gem behind it all is Kerri—the amazing owner of the venue who also becomes your planner/coordinator and helps make the magic happen! Kerri is the most passionate, hardworking gal in the business. She will LITERALLY do anything and everything to make her couples wedding day a dream. As someone who recently relocated to the west coast and was planning our wedding from afar, Kerri went above and beyond to help make our planning experience seamless. She was super cost-conscious and accommodating, helping customize every element of our day and reflect our true vision. Even when the weather was looking not so good and I was stressing (emphasis on the stress), the FVM team had plans A-Z to ensure the day went on perfectly no matter what. And of course Kerri did everything and more to shuffle some things around so that the whole experience and day of remained seamless. What can’t this woman do?? An extra special shout out to her husband Frank who is the man behind the scenes keeping the space perfectly manicured and gorgeous! And of course kudos to my queen Mia (my personal bridal attendant for the day) who kept me dry from the weather, well fed, and took care of us all night! Final comment: this venue is unlike any venue we toured. It is not only a unique and charming space, but also so personable. In fact, through our venue touring process, FVM stood out as the only one to be so focused and dedicated to your event (vs just being another wedding on their list, booking couples back-to-back-to-back, etc.). Kerri, Frank, and the FVM staff truly have the best hearts and complete emotional ownership to your day, making your wedding experience like no other. The biggest and warmest thank you, thank you, thank you! And look no further for where to have your wedding!”

“We were so lucky to celebrate our wedding at A Private Estate, and it truly exceeded all of our expectations. When we were searching for a venue, we visited A Private Estate in the depth of winter during a snowstorm, but even then, we immediately knew it was the perfect place for us. Ripley, the owner, was friendly and direct, and it was clear she genuinely cared about making sure people had an amazing experience. The property was beautifully maintained, and the convenience of having the Carriage House accommodation along with the barn for the reception made it a much better value than most other venues we considered. We chose to have our ceremony outside, overlooking the Hudson River, which created a breathtaking and peaceful setting for our vows. The manor house made for a stunning backdrop for our family photos, adding a touch of elegance to the day. We held our reception in the barn, which we highly recommend to other couples. The rustic charm of the space, combined with the elegance of the estate, created the perfect atmosphere for our celebration. Our mid-August wedding was made even more memorable by the beauty and ambiance of the setting. The property manager, Jack, went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. Not only did he assist us with practical matters, like putting up blinds in the Carriage House to help our family members' kids sleep, but he also saved the day when a special bottle of wine we had intended to keep was accidentally thrown out by the caterers. Jack took it upon himself to dig it up and return it to us—an act of kindness we won’t forget. We are incredibly grateful for the hospitality and attention to detail from both Jack and Ripley. If you're looking for a venue that combines beauty with exceptional service, we wholeheartedly recommend A Private Estate.”

“My husband Chris and I were married at M&D Farm this weekend and are now soaking up the afterglow radiating from the happiest day of our lives. To exchange our vows in the lushest, most romantic and lovingly tended gardens, surrounded by our friends and family was a dream come true. We visited M&D Farm as a newly engaged couple in June 2023 and knew it would be a perfect fit from the start. From that point, Daniel and Mario worked with us every step of the way to bring our vision to life. We appreciated their attention to detail and clear communication, but most of all, we were delighted by their passion to celebrate the unique love of every couple they work with. Two years later (down to the day), all of our hard work and collaboration with Mario and Daniel paid off. It was truly a flawless weekend, from the ceremony rehearsal to the final squeeze goodbye at the end of our wedding night. Chris and I were able to truly LIVE our day, thanks to Mario and Daniel's kind, steady presence, working expertly in the background to ensure the perfect experience for us and our people. After 12 years together, Chris and I couldn't imagine a more meaningful place to make our commitments to forever. We will cherish our wedding at M&D Farm, each day, for the rest of our days.”

We could structure our day however we wanted knowing that we had no restrictions other than what time the reception had to end. Marina's love and attachment to Rokeby shone through and transferred to us. The view cannot be beat, the grounds are gorgeous and the porch is the perfect location for cocktail hour.”

“This is the best wedding venue ever!! I usually do not write reviews but had to because of the dream wedding Seven Ponds made happen. Julie, Rosie, Min and Morton (and the whole team) are amazing and I can’t put into words how magical the weekend was. The morning of our wedding, it rained, no it down poured but by 3PM the sun was shining and we were able to have an amazing ceremony. Every detail was thought of, every request was granted. Through out the whole weekend, I felt like a princess. During the reception, we were treated like royalty. At one point in the night I got something on my dress, I was dabbing it out with water and Julie came over from behind me and handed me club soda within a minute of me trying to get it out. EVERYthing was thought of. It feels like your in this wedding bubble being on the farm and every moment was filled with love and laughter and happiness. Consider this beautiful farm for your venue. You will not be disappointed!!”

Twelve Ponds is a 105 acre private estate wedding venue in the Catskills, where ponds, wildflower meadows, a restored farmhouse, a barn, and a stone arch look out over open hills. We host one wedding at a time, and every booking is a full-weekend buyout. The property is yours Friday through Sunday, so the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, the reception, and a slow Sunday morning by the water all happen in one place. No shared grounds, no six-hour window that rushes you through your own wedding. Couples marry in the meadow, at the pond, or at the arch depending on the season and the light. Fall brings color across the hills, and summer evenings run long and gold. Bring the caterer you love. We have a full commercial kitchen and supply all the tables, chairs, plates, glassware and cutlery for any occasion. Twelve Ponds is for couples who want a wedding weekend, not a wedding day. Send your date and guest count and we’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right fit.

“Our wedding at Twelve Ponds was incredible from start to finish. The team communicated with us clearly throughout the planning process and made everything feel effortless on the day of. The venue itself is beautiful with plenty of space for all our guests, and the pricing was fair for what we got. The flowers, food, and decor came together perfectly to create the atmosphere we wanted. What really impressed us was how well the space worked as a family retreat too—our relatives who arrived early felt right at home exploring the grounds. We'd absolutely recommend Twelve Ponds to any couple looking for a venue that delivers on service and value.”

The Caboose

Hudson, NY

Welcome to The Caboose, a stunning 3,500-square-foot space steeped in Hudson Valley history, reimagined for an open, modern feel that’s both communal and cosmopolitan. With its soaring beamed ceilings and expansive cathedral windows, The Caboose is truly the best wedding venue in Hudson, NY and the perfect spot to host your next seated event, where guests can enjoy a seasonal farm-to-table menu curated by Executive Chef Nicole LoBue. After dinner, continue the fun with dancing and drinking, or simply step outside to watch the sun set on our lush private garden filled with over 14,000 perennials. Whatever you decide, The Caboose is the space to enjoy all the modern amenities you’ve come to expect from a venue like ours — including killer sound and PA systems and aesthetic finishes like warm woods, cool marbles and stone, and hand-finished metals, all accomplished without sacrificing our commitment to being 100% carbon-neutral — because we love our planet as much as we do our guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Both indoor and outdoor options
  • Picturesque garden backdrop
  • Has a fun and festive vibe

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • No on-site guest accommodations
“We had a roundabout journey to The Caboose, but I couldn't be happier that it's where we landed for our wedding in September '25. From the jump, we appreciated the gorgeous space, their commitment to doing right by the planet, and the affiliation with Kitty's—some of our favorite food in Hudson. The combination of a beautiful garden and stunning indoor space made us feel like we were safe no matter the weather. Every time we visited, the garden got better. We loved how lush and colorful it was for our day. We enjoyed working with Caitlin, the venue manager. She was creative and flexible and willing to work with us to do a few things a little differently (like have the ceremony in a different spot in the garden). The food was truly incredible—we still have people raving about it! We appreciated that because we were right on the edge seasonally, we were able to choose the summer menu instead of the one for fall, which felt just right for the day's weather and feeling. Because we had our tasting in February, we weren't able to try most of the items we had, but we trusted we were in good hands—and we definitely were. The kitchen team was also incredibly accommodating with our guest's dietary restrictions—everyone felt very cared for, which is what we hoped for the most! We had live music as well as a DJ and everything sounded truly great in the space. The staff working on our day was SO kind and helpful—people made mention of how warm everyone was, too. I saw many a chitchat at the bar, just because they were so lovely! Just a note, too, that while The Caboose was pricey, we were totally amazed by the value and all that they take care of. We looked at dozens of venues—from full-service spots to DIY operations—and kept coming back to the mix of creativity, value, and quality that The Caboose offered. The fact that they take care of the food, drinks, furniture rentals, lighting, sound system, and staff—and all at such a high caliber—unheard of! We truly couldn't have done it without them. “Yes! CHOOSE THIS VENUE!! You’ve found the right place! We are finally getting around to posting our review about the most perfect wedding venue we could have imagined! We saw Maple Shade November ‘22 when we were ‘shopping’ for a wedding venue; choosing it was a no brainer. The barn itself is unique and different than any others we have seen and it comes with everything. Dining area upstairs, separate from the cocktail hour, dancing, downstairs bar, lounge area, game room (this place has it all!). Long farm tables are gorgeous within themselves and need minimal decorations. And with the venue having SO MUCH on site, there was no need for us to order and prepare any other decor items like we would have needed at some of the ‘Blank Canvas’ barns we initially considered. The barn sits on acres and acres of land, giving you the option of where to have your ceremony, we chose right in front of the pond where our wedding party had a grand entrance from the large barn doors. MAGICAL! Enough about the venue, although we hope this paints an accurate picture! Everything you could need is there!! More importantly, Jay and Abby Wilson (owners of Maple Shade) are absolute rockstars. From our first visit and follow up phone call, we knew working together would be a breeze. They were helpful in our initial planning stages, helping us plan different details, offering extremely helpful advice. Wedding day they were like conductors of an orchestra, making sure everyone and everything were in place and running according to plan. It was PERFECT! And when uncontrollable things don’t go to plan, they had us covered! On our wedding day in late July, there was a high percentage of rain expected only during the time of our ceremony; Jay and Abby made the call that morning to put up a tent and made all the adjustments needed without causing bride and groom any extra stress… THANK GOD they did - it literally monsooned during the ceremony, like nothing we've seen before at an outdoor wedding! (Just a fluke storm rolling though). They reminded us that as a bride and groom getting married at their venue, they make the same decisions for us and our guests that they would make for their own children. They are kind and caring and so fun, and certainly know how to run a wedding venue. We respected, trusted and appreciated all their knowledge and hard work. It’s definitely not their first rodeo! As we will continue to call this day "the best day ever," we are very grateful to Jay and Abby for all of their help, attention to detail, and their ability to see and understand our vision for the most perfect wedding we could have imagined. Ps- they made a few recommendations for supplementary vendors (catering, DJ, bartenders) and all their recommendations were also HOME RUNS! It was such a smooth operation.”

“Melanie, the Stonewall Estate team, and the venue itself were an absolute DREAM. We first toured Stonewall in the middle of January, and even covered in snow, we immediately knew there was something special about this place. Coming back to get married in peak fall foliage on 9/26 was exactly how we had pictured it. We were the first of our friend group to get married, so we didn’t have much precedent for how any of this was supposed to work. From the beginning, Melanie made the entire process feel seamless. She was incredibly communicative and gave us so much guidance along the way, from vendor and local recommendations to all the little pro tips you don’t even know you need. We trusted her taste and point of view 100%, and whenever we needed advice, she was the first person we wanted to ask. Throughout planning, she kept us on track, led an incredibly helpful 45-day walkthrough, helped build out our timeline, lineup and floor plan, and made sure all of our vendors had everything they needed heading into the weekend. Stonewall also has an amazing decor catalog with so much already available on-site, which made bringing our vision together so easy. When the weekend arrived, Melanie led our rehearsal beautifully, and she and her team were such a calm, supportive presence throughout the wedding day. If there were any issues happening behind the scenes, we certainly didn’t know about them because her team was always one step ahead. We had to make the call to move our ceremony indoors because of possible rain, and they made it PERFECT. We genuinely would not have changed a thing. They then completely transformed the space for the reception, to the point that guests told us they didn’t even realize they were sitting in the same room! And the property itself... let me tell you there truly wasn’t a bad view anywhere. Our guests could not stop talking about the scenery and how beautiful and unique the venue was. Having the estate house and cottage, barn, ceremony, reception and bonfire all on one property made the whole experience so special. Our wedding party could get ready on-site, celebrate all night, and simply walk back up the hill to the house afterward. Every detail was so thoughtfully handled, from the beautiful barn and venue-owned bar to the s’mores bonfire at the end of the night. The Stonewall bartenders were also SO kind and wonderful to our guests, and we heard so many compliments about them throughout the night. We have gotten multiple messages from guests telling us this was the best wedding they have ever been to, and it never could have reached the level it did without Melanie and the Stonewall Estate team. They truly have something magical going on up there, and we feel so lucky we got to have our wedding at Stonewall. If you’re dreaming of the perfect mountainscape wedding, this is your spot. A all around!!! XOXO, Lauren & Elijah”
