Nestled in the valley of Saddle Mountain, overlooking two private, spring-fed lakes, and featuring an outstanding facilities, rustic, climate-controlled cabins and sumptuous cuisine, Timber Lake is one of the most sought-after wedding venues in the Catskills. We are available for weddings for the middle of May until early-June and then again from mid-August through September. Camp weddings are a fast-growing trend in the United States and Timber Lake offers the use of the one of the most beautiful and heralded summer camp properties in the country for your special day.

With two lakes on the property and endless rolling hills, your wedding photographs will be set to stunning backdrops as you go from ceremony to reception. By holding their outdoor wedding at Timber Lake, our past brides and grooms have been able to experience their dream wedding, a wedding that would normally cost significantly more at a traditional hotel or resort.

    Stunning Venue

    From the moment we pulled up to Timber Lake Camp and saw the mountain views we knew we wanted our wedding there. The views and grounds are absolutely beautiful. We knew we wanted to be able to have time to spend with all of our family and friends and TLC allowed us to do just that. Meredith was AMAZING throughout the entire planning process, always answering our emails in a timely fashion and willing to schedule a call for us. She helped us coordinate visits to the camp before our big day so we could plan accordingly. We were able to arrive (with family) on Thursday to start setting up everything for the weekend, which was great because it allowed us to have some time on Friday to relax before all our guests started to arrive. One of the great things about TLC is you can make the wedding into anything you would like it to be, granted it takes a lot of extra work, planning, and coordination, but I would not have changed a thing. Our guests have not stopped raving about how thoughtful all of the details we put into the wedding were and how much the venue represented us a people and a couple. The TLC staff were absolutely incredible the weekend of our wedding. From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted at the front gate, given directions on parking, and then provided transportation via golf cart to their cabins. Everyone had such a great time at the camp. Reggie and Sheila (and other staff) made us DELICIOUS meals throughout the weekend that everyone enjoyed! Scott was amazing in helping coordinate all of the events for the weekend and making sure everything ran smoothly. Special shout out to Willow for his support and assistance with everything and anything that came up during the weekend! At all points there were golf carts around to transport our guests anywhere they needed to go, whether it was to the bonfire Friday and Saturday nights, the golf course, the kickball game Saturday morning, to/from ceremony, or just getting around the camp, someone was there to help. We chose to open the waterfront for Saturday (an extra fee), but was so worth it. Our guests had the best time going down the water slide, kayaking, and using the pool before the wedding. We cannot recommend TLC for your wedding weekend enough!


The event organizer(s) are responsible for: • the reception catering • the set-up and break-down of any non-Timber Lake equipment or decorations. • the purchase and service of all alcohol. • obtaining insurance and worker’s compensation coverage for the rental group and any of its sub-contractors. • guest check-in after 10:00PM on the 1st night of the event. • cabins and rooms are left in broom-clean condition.
The staff of Timber Lake are responsible for: • guest check-in until 10:00PM on the first night of the event. • preparing and serving 4 buffet-style meals (unless otherwise agreed upon). • 1 complimentary camp fire with s’mores (weather dependent). • dining hall manager and facility manager on site to assist and for basic maintenance.
Timber Lake is available beginning in early June and ending in late September with the exception of mid-June to mid-August during our summer camp program.
The weather and seasons in the Catskills differ from that of the Greater New York City area. The temperatures in early June, August, and September can fluctuate widely. Some days and nights may feel like the middle of the summer and others may feel more distinctly like spring or fall. Timber Lake does have multiple indoor facilities, including an indoor ceremony location, so hosting your wedding celebration or event in the off-season is never a concern.
We would be happy to give you a tour of our campus! Tours are based on availability and are typically offered Monday-Sunday with the exception of holidays.
A $5000 deposit is due at the signing of the contract. The rest of the balance is spread out over 4 more installments leading up to the wedding weekend. Final balance must be paid at least 2 weeks prior to event.
We love hosting bonfires around our stone fire pit that sits between our two lakes. We can even prepare an assortment of marshmallow roasting materials for your group to enjoy. Firework displays are also a fun and unique way to surprise your family and guests. In addition to the use of our facilities, which comes with your rental, there are several packages we offer to enhance you and your guests’ experience at Timber Lake.
Yes, we offer a “bridal suite” cabin as well as on-site accommodations, including private rooms and shared cabins.
We offer a linens package that includes sheets, blanket, pillow and pillowcase, and a towel for each guest in your group.
We do not have a facility fee. Our pricing is per guest.
We have plenty of covered and indoor facilities that we can move your guests into in the event of inclement weather. We have the experience and resources to move any group inside and get them back up and running again in no time!
We only host one wedding per weekend, but we may have multiple groups during the weekdays utilizing different spaces throughout the campus.
The arrival and departure times of every group can be customized to meet each group’s needs. For weddings, we have a standard arrival time of 3:00PM on the 1st day of the event and departure time of 12:30PM on the final day of the event.
No, however, our group rentals liaison will guide you through the entire process of planning out your event with us. For weddings, we will work with each couple on everything from menu customization, vendor recommendations, overall setup, and beyond to ensure your day is perfect! We recommend that you hire a Day-of Coordinator who can work with our team to make your day go as smoothly as possible.
Timber Lake will be available for decorating either the day before or the day of your event. We do offer an option for small groups of guests coming early to set up an event to stay on the grounds the night before the event begins. The group is responsible for putting up all decorations. We do not allow confetti or any open flame including candles.
Yes, our accommodations have heat and all of our available dates are dates that we feel provide warm enough weather for guests to be comfortable on our property. All of our shared cabins have air conditioning and most of our private rooms have window air conditioning units.
Our insurance prevents us from providing or serving alcohol. You are welcome to bring alcohol on our campus. You can have guests serve themselves or you can hire bartenders as long as they possess the proper liquor liability insurance coverage.
Timber Lake’s breathtaking campus sits on a mountaintop surrounded by 500 acres in New York’s Catskill Mountains, just 2 ½ hours from New York City and 1 ½ hours from Albany.
We have approximately 40 family-style round tables as well as up to 400 chairs that we will provide at no additional cost for the wedding receptions. We have about 200 chairs for the ceremonies. Wedding groups are welcome to use our basic silverware and camp plates at no additional charge. We only ask that, if we are not providing the meal when these are used, that the wedding group be responsible for cleaning after use.
We do provide onsite parking!
The rooms and cabins are not considered handicap accessible, but there is a ramp into the dining hall where the reception is typically held and the roads/paths in camp that will be used are paved.
