    Honest Review: Pros and Cons

Overall, we had a beautiful wedding and there are definitely positives to this venue, but I also want to share some experiences that future couples should be aware of before booking. First, our service manager was always pleasant, professional, and kind to work with in person. However, they often took several days to respond to emails. During wedding planning, timely communication really matters. We were shown a lovely 3-bedroom bridal suite during our tour and assumed that the 3-bedroom suite we ultimately booked would be the same room. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we realized we had been assigned a much more basic suite. Initially, we were told upgrading would cost an additional 800, but after some back and forth we ultimately received a complimentary upgrade. I would strongly recommend that future hotel representatives make the booking distinctions between suites much clearer for couples. The food was good overall, and many aspects of the venue are undeniably beautiful. However, couples considering the Copper Tree should know that the air conditioning is not especially strong, particularly for a crowded event. The space also never gets particularly dark at night, so if you are hoping for a more traditional nighttime dance party atmosphere, that is something to keep in mind. The biggest frustration came after the wedding. About six months later, we were unexpectedly billed an additional 1,000. At that point, after everything had long since concluded, it felt disappointing and unnecessary — especially because there were already aspects of the experience that did not fully match what we had paid for. I was eventually able to negotiate the amount down because some of the after-party food had been burnt, but it took over a month to resolve the bill and required multiple follow-ups on my end. Even after payment was made, I received an automated email from Vail Resorts Accounting warning that interest charges would begin accruing. The entire process felt frustrating and unprofessional. Unfortunately, we also did not get to have the mountaintop ceremony we had planned, which added to the feeling that we paid full price without the full experience. I don’t regret getting married here, and many staff members were warm and helpful, but I do think the venue could improve transparency, communication, and post-event customer experience significantly.

Danielle, Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful and detailed feedback about your wedding experience with us. First and foremost, I’m truly glad to hear that despite some frustrations along the way, you still felt your wedding day itself was beautiful and that many members of our team helped make it feel special. That means a great deal to us. At the same time, I genuinely appreciate you highlighting the areas where your experience fell short of expectations. Wedding planning is such an emotional and important process, and communication, transparency, and follow-through matter tremendously throughout every stage — not just on the wedding day itself. Your comments regarding response times, suite clarity during the booking process, post-event billing communication, and expectations surrounding the ceremony experience are all important and valuable feedback. While some circumstances can occasionally shift due to operational or weather-related factors, we absolutely understand how disappointing it can feel when parts of the experience don’t align with the vision couples had planned for so long. I’m especially sorry for the frustration surrounding the billing follow-up months after the wedding. We never want couples leaving the process feeling stressed or unheard, particularly after what should be such a joyful milestone. We truly appreciate your honesty, as feedback like yours helps us continue improving both the guest experience and the planning journey for future couples. Thank you again for celebrating with us at Hunter Mountain, and we wish you and your husband many happy years ahead together. Warmly, Debbie

Without a summit ceremony still the best wedding

Staff all around is the best staff you can ask for. Chef Dave, I will never stop craving his tenderloin! He truly has a passion of making the best food for each wedding. Our guest still text me about all his food. Brittany was amazing. I had last minute changes out of my control and she always found the best way to make things work! Tim the Banquet manager was always around ready to make sure it all ran smoothly. Ryan the lift operations manager kept Brittany updated on the weather day of and when it didn’t look good at the bottom he drove up to make sure he truly had say no to us going to the summit (it was 30 degrees with 45 kt winds) he and his crew opened the lift for 2 hours the next day so we could still get our summit pictures and they all had smiles on their faces. Truly every staff member had an impact in making our day more than we could of dreamed for! Overall, Hunter Mountain Resort provided an exceptional experience and incredible value, and I would highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding
