Columbia Ballroom

Birch Hill Catering's grand ballroom.

Providing space for up to 450+ guests, the Columbia Ballroom is our largest indoor venue. With a soaring cloudlike ceiling, 5,400 square foot dance floor, customizable L.E.D accents, and a 15-foot long firewall on the attached patio, it is the Capital Region’s #1 party choice for couples.

The Columbia Ballroom, has a $17,000 minimum on a Friday/ Sunday and a $19,000 minimum on a Saturday. The minimum spend is not a rental fee, rather a required subtotal spend on food and beverage prior to tax and administration.

    Amazing Experience

    As a Queer couple, it was important to us to find a venue where we were not only accepted, but celebrated, and Birch Hill--and specifically our consultant, Serena--delivered. They cover almost everything, and helped us through the planning process and to our perfect day. We couldn't recommend more!

    5 Star Venue!!

    My husband and I had the most amazing experience with Birch Hill as our venue and caterer!! They take care of pretty much everything which is exactly what we were looking for. The food is absolutely delicious, our guests are still talking about it! We worked with Serena and she was simply the best!! I could not recommend her and Birch Hill enough, she made everything such a low stress experience while also catering to all of our needs!

    Great venue, food & staff, don't miss fireworks!

    My daughter’s wedding was a Birch Hill Catering. I cannot recommend this venue enough. The outdoor ceremony was lovely and required only the most basic of flowers and décor due to the natural beauty of the surroundings. The ballrooms are gorgeous and she chose the one with the stunning atrium glass. It seated 165 people while still leaving plenty of dancing room, DJ booth, and food stations. The cocktail hour was indoor/outdoor on the patio and it was perfect. Now let me talk about our most favorite things. First off, the staff, namely Serena. She is fantastic! She was extremely helpful in working out the details for the event and her communication was top notch through the whole year of planning. On the day of the event, Serena seemed to have eyes and ears everywhere noticing any little detail that needed addressing, taking care of it herself calmly and confidently, and when needed, discreetly asking about a little decision or two for which she needed my input. She also took video and photos during the event. While waiting for the professional photographs for weeks, this was such a nice surprise to receive! Emily was her assistant and very willing and helpful as well. Second, the food. Wow, the food here is just delicious! The choices are abundant and everything was just mouthwatering. It is one of the big reasons we chose this venue and it didn’t disappoint. The carving station and mac n cheese were highlights. They offer so many fun add on’s like late night snack and ice cream stations which since there is not a noise ordinance to worry about, are nice additions to a reception that can go later into the night. Lastly, the fireworks. So, my daughter had her heart set on these and to be honest, my husband and I questioned whether it would be worth it or not. Let me tell you it was worth it, SO worth it. It was a professional show that rivaled that of a lot of professional 4th of July shows! It was spectacular and the photos taken of the bride and groom with huge fireworks going off right above them are awesome! We don't have the pro ones yet but even the cell phone ones are great so we can only imagine. It was an add on we did not regret as our guests were truly in awe. We had many come up to us to share it was a top wedding they had ever attended. Our daughter hugged us at the end of the night thanking us for her fantasy wedding. Thank you to Serena and Birch Hill for making that happen! We will never forget the night.

    Midsummer Night Dream Wedding at Stablegate

    I got married at Stablegate Farm and had a wonderful experience! The team at Birch Hill, specifically Serena and  Molly, were excellent. Throughout the planning process, they provided a customized experience always making us feel comfortable and special. They were very knowledgable, organized, responsive, and flexible. The venue was perfect for our Hudson Valley Midsummer Night Dream aesthetic. Everyone ate well and reported a beautiful, especially memorable night!

    We had an amazing experience with Birch Hill Catering & Estate from start to finish. Molly was our consultant and she guided us through timelines while sharing ideas from other couples, which really helped us plan. Having the venue and food under one roof made everything so much easier and less stressful. At our food tasting in March, Molly checked in to see how we were enjoying the options and gave us helpful tips to remember what we loved. On our wedding day with 50 guests, the food exceeded what we tasted and the staff kept us fed with plenty of snacks throughout the night! We couldn't have asked for a better vendor to work with!
